Ok i am running the new Vista beta. I was using Microsoft mail, no issues,
got it running with my gmail account. I installed the beta version of Office
2k7 and it turned the microsoft mail into Outlook, so i click outlook and it
won't run. I get the error message: "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working"

So i get the Problem Report window to the Office 2k7 Beta site and see the
refresh download... i download it (all 506Mb of it), and run it. It scans my
system, and says "There are no products affected by this package installed on
this system", and then it goes away... yet i still have no office
functionality. I get this error with ANY office program - Word, Excel,
Outlook.

Please help!

I am running Outlook 2007 SP1 and Vista Ultimate SP1. From time to time,
Outlook crashes with the message "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working". It
then closes and re-opens itself. I am unable to create an event to cause
this to happen, it does so randomly, probably on average once a day.

Any advice as to how I fix this.

Thanks in advance.

14) after a few more cycles, office recovery kicks in, and it reinstalls office. When it completes the same problem keeps occurring.

I have tried clean isntalling (starting with format c to ommit the McAffe instalation and acrobat, but that didn't help either. I tried to skip updating W7 (some people indicated that the problem could be related to a "shitty" upgrade). Nothing seems to work.

On the other hand  have installed a "first version" of office 2010 ultimate (downloaded just after it became available on MSDN (only one key)) and that one works on an identical PC.

I see that a lot of people have posted simmilar messges. It seems that this time MS has skipped proper testing and rushed out a disfunctional beta.

I am also getting the "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working" error message since I converted from Beta version (exp. 10/31/10).  MS guidance says I must uninstall other Office versions for Outlook to run, but Windows 7 uninstaller refuses to remove Beta version.  How do I get rid of Beta version?  (This conflict appears to create other interoperability problems, including IE 8 and Chapura Pocketmirror.) MS says it's Toshiba's problem (since I've an "OEM" license for IE) and vice versa (after system restore & reinstall did not work).

I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2007. Outlook mail and calendar work fine. When I click on Contacts however I get the message "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution. After checking for a solution I get the message: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." This problem started a few days ago. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I dont get it Outlook 2007 on my Vista machine has some problems but when i
close it everytime it comes up with the error "Microsoft outlook has stopped
working" then does the check for problem thing and never comes up with an
answer. Of course it stopped working i closed it. It also freezes up from
time to time and does the same thing.

Hunt or ride that is the question.

I havebeen running Vista and Office 2003 on a new HP machine for a month
withno problems, now I am getting an error message as soon as I try to open
Outlook stating Outlook has stopped working and will close. Windows finds no
solutions.

I have Windows Vista OS. I run Microsoft Office 2003. I have never had any
problems, until now when I try to open Outlook. As soon as it begins to open,
I get a message that says "Microsoft Office Outlook Has Stopped Working". It
shuts down immediately and will not work at all. I don't know what has
happened. I have tried to run the repair with the disk and also tried to
re-install. Neither one has worked. Any suggestions?

I am running Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 on Windows Vista
Business.
I recently installed 'Outlook Personal Folders Back-up' downloaded from the
MS Office web site.
Since the install, when I close Outlook the Back-up dialog appears
[correctly] and on clicking that, I get the error message "Microsoft Office
Outlook has stopped working" and the application closes with nothing having
been backed up.
I have run Office Diagnostics with a zero result.
The Event Log result is - Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version
12.0.6316.5000, time stamp 0x4833a470, faulting module unknown, version

HELP!

How would I uninstall Outlook Personal Folders Back-up ?
It does not appear in add/remove programs.

I am also running AVG 8.0 [3 user licence] but the problem only appears
after installing the back-up.

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate with Office 2003. I have all the latest
updates and SP for my computer. I run Outlook all day and when I go and close
it out I get the message "Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working
windows is checking for a solutions to the problem" and then the other
message that follows is "a problem has caused the program to stop working
correctly. Windows will the program and notify you if a solutions is
available."

Has anyone found an answer for this. I only have this problem when I close
Outlook.

Thanks,
Terry

Office 2003:
"Get a message that says Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working"

"A problem caused the program to stop working corectly. Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available"

I have tried running with the /cleanreminders switch, the /safe switch and a
combination of the two. Even in safe mode the message appears.

This is happening on my wife's Vaio lapetop with Vista Home

Outlook 2007 has been installed for all of 6 days. Today it stopped
responding. I can no longer run Outlook 2007. Every time I open it I get
"Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working"

I do the Check online for a solution and close the program, and the program
just closes.

I have run Microsoft Office Diagnostics and no errors. Scanpst and no
problems.

I am running Vista Business and Office 2007.

I hate I am going to have to go back to XP Pro and Office 2003, but this is
unbearable. My problem is I copied all my emails to Outlook 2007 so it is
no longer a 2003 format, and I doubt I can open it.

It is not the PST anyway. I moved the PST so Outlook would create a new
one, but it still crashes.

Running Vista with Outlook 2007 for over a month fine.
Now all of a sudden I get: "Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is found."

I cannot click on anything to make any changes. Can't even read previous
mails.
Can't click on folders, options, tools, etc. Nothing.

Thanks

I am runing Microsoft Office Professional 2007 on Vista Home Premium. All
programs work perfectly (including Outlook) except every time I close
Outlook I get the following message.

When I click on Close Program, the error box goes away. Other than the
error message upon closing Outlook, the program works fine.

I have run the office diagnostics and inbox repair tool to no effect.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello,

I just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 Premium Home (64) installed.
I am working on moving my data, etc. over from the XP computer to my new
computer.

I have installed Office 2003 on the new computer and all programs operate
fine with exception to Outlook 2003.

When I first started up Outlook 2003, it wanted to go through email setup,
etc. I cancelled out of the setup because I was going to restore my .pst
files from a backup that I made. I can not run my Outlook backup software
(Outback6) to restore the files because it needs Outlook 2003 configured
first.

So, I tried to start up Outlook 2003 again in order to set it up only to
find out now that I am getting the message "Microsoft Office Outlook has
stopped working". I figured there was a corrupt file or something since I
cancelled the setup the first time. Every time I get this message, it closes
the application. I have tried to startup in Safe Mode, Office Detect and
Repair, Remove and Reinstall, etc....I still get the same message every time
I try to start up Outlook 2003.

Is there a patch that I am needing? How can I repair this? It is important
that I get this functioning ASAP as I am sure that my emails are piling up.

Thank you very much for any input.

Regards,
Mike

My wife is running MS Office Outlook 2003 under Vista. Within the
last several days, it repeatedly crashes with the message, “Microsoft
Office Outlook has stopped working. A problem has caused the program
to stop working correctly.”

Initially, she noticed it on send/receive operations. More recently,
we’ve found you can reliably produce it by trying to sync the calendar
either to a Treo handheld, or to Google Calendar.

Here’s what we’ve tried:

1. Reboot machine several times.

2. Run detect and repair in Outlook.

3. Run Scanpst.exe on her .pst files until it reports no errors.

4. Archive large amounts of email and compress the .pst file to get
it smaller. (It was getting close to 2Gigs, but it’s now well under
1Gig.)

5. Uninstall and reinstall Office 2003.

6. Create a new profile with no content from the old .pst file. That
one crashed with the same error as soon as we tried to sync its
calendar with Google.

7. Disable Outlook addins (Google calendar sync and Norton anti-spam)

8. Google the error message and look for answers in multiple
threads.

7. Change permissions in the Norton Internet Security firewall for
Outlook from Auto to Allowed.

Nothing has worked.

The crash seems to come with the following pair of messages in Event
Log:

Fault bucket 1177144235, type 1
Event Name: APPCRASH
Response: None
Cab Id: 0

Hi All

I have an ACER Travelmate running Vista Home Premium SP1 with Office 2007. This set-up ran happily for 15 months until my hard-drive crashed. A new drive was installed, and ACER Recovery Management re-installed the original Vista version. Office was then re-installed and the system logged-on to Microsoft for full updates of Vista (SP1) and Office 2007. All programs within Office 2007 run with no problems except for Outlook, which will not start when clicking on the Desk-top Icon, or clicking on the *.exe file directly. It will start correctly when typing outlook.exe into the start box, and it will start by typing outlook.exe /safe into the same box. The Desk-top Icon has been replaced with a new shortcut, but I still get the MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK HAS STOPPED WORKING message when trying to start it. I've disabled all Add-ins, run a registry check with Registry Mechanic and taken advice from a number of web sites, but still no good. Is this a Windows problem, or an Outlook problem?
