Can't open links received (embedded)in email messages

When I try opening a link received in an email message I get an error message
stating "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on
this computer. Please contact your system administrator. My computer is a
stand-alone home computer, and this is a brand new error that makes no sense.

Hello:
I run Windows XP and Microsoft Office-Outlook 2007 which I recently upgraded
to. A friend will occasionally send emails with embedded jpg pictures in
the body of the text from a mac. The pictures are never attached files.
Prior to upgrading to Office 2007, I had Office 2003 and had no problems in
viewing these embedded pictures. Now, I am unable to view jpg files that are
embedded along with the text. Outlook must be downloading the images
because the email file size is aproximately 4 MB. The body of the text will
show and . However, it is simply text in the email
and not a link to a picture. The picture part of the email message is simply
a white screen.

I ensured that the sender is in the "safe senders list" and checked that in
Trust Center/Privacy options that "Permit downloads in email messages from
senders and to recipients defined in the safe senders and safe recipients
list used by the junk email filter". I also verified that "also trust email
from my contacts" is checked. She is a contact.

Can someone help me resolve this issue so I can again view the pictures
within the emails?

Thanks very much,
Scott L.

I receive photos in email messages and not all photos display. This also
happens when I receive links in email messages and when I click on the link
in the email. The pictues on the site do not display.

How do I go about resolving this problem?

FYI, my pc was recently hijacked and I had to reconfigure everything.

All assistance appreciated.

I've just installedMicrosoft Office Enterprise, and am unable to open links
that are in email messages. Can someone tell me what I need to do?

I get a message stating, "General failure. The URL was: whatever.
Application not found."

Thank you

I cannot open any links included in email messages delivered via Outlook
Express 6.
For instance, link tom a story in the newspaper. The address to the link
appears but the link will not open. Can anyone offer a solution to this
problem?

I am having trouble in Outlook 2003 to open web links that are posted in my
email messages. The message says "The operations are canceled due to
restrictions on effect in thsi compute. Please contact your system
administrator. There are 3 users on this machine.

I am suddenly unable to open links that are in emails. When I click the link,
I get a dialogue box asking me if I would like to save the link as an
executable file. How do I fix this?

The only difference between when I could open links properly and now, that I
know of, is that I have upgraded to IE 7.

I want to copy hyperlinks in my email so I can paste them into the browser
URL line. When I try to do so, a grey box appears below the link that shows
the URL that will be opened, and the browser opens up to that address. My
understanding is that it is dangerous to open links in email messages. Why
can't I just copy the link?? I suspect it may be some kind of security
setting. I am using Norton Internet Security System-- latest version.

I would appreciate any help with this. Thank you.

When using outlook, I can not open hyperlinks in email messages. This
feature use to work. I could not find any settings in email options or mouse
settings/

I cant open links sent in e-mails? Anyone have some professional advise?

I use Outlook; operating with Windows XP. Until recently, I have been able to open .jpg pictures in email from my daughter’s iPhone. But now I am not been able to open -- or even save -- these pictures. The error message I get is, “Can’t create file: photo.jpg. Right-click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder.”

I am still able to open other attachments such as Word documents, PDF, spreadsheets, etc. Surprisingly enough, I am also able .jpg pictures from other people!

The final mystery is that my wife also has a separate account on the same computer, using the same version of Outlook and all the same settings. She is able to open all the pictures in email messages that I can NOT open. I can also forward these email messages to my business computer and open the pictures just fine with that equipment & software.

Am NOT using WORD as my email editor but want to us the strikethrough feature
in email message. When I right click in my HTML email message and edit the
source code, even tho I click save, when I close the box the original text
remains the same. I think there must be SOMEPLACE where I need to have
"SOURCE EDIT" checked but danged if I can find it. Thanks, gurus !

I just rebuilt my computer from motherboard up but retained the hard
drives etc. When I reloaded Office 2000 I can no longer hear music
that has been embedded in email. I have searched the various menus of
Outlook and can't seem to find a place that would deactivate the sound
capability. My computer has an AMD 64 dual core processor, and ASUS
motherboard with a Sound Blaster Audigy SE sound card. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

I cannot open links embedded in emails when using outlook express 6. I do not
receive any error messages at all when clicking on them. I click on them and
nothing. I don't have any trouble opening file attachments, pictures or
videos, just links to other web sites, pages or "mail to" links. Any one have
this problem?

thanks RayS

All of a sudden I cannot open links embedded in emails. How do I fix this

i recieve e-mail and i cant open the links in them.also some of my email wont
send to some of my friends can you help me please.

Is it possible to tell Outlook 2003 to open links in an email inside of
Outlook instead of opening Internet Explorer? I know that web pages
can be opened from the web toolbar in Outlook (like the one shown on
the Outlook Today window).

Use case:
I receive an email that has a hyperlink in it to some web page. When I
click the link, I want the page to open in Outlook, not Internet
Explorer (although I know that Outlook uses Internet Explorer to
display web pages).

I recently lost the ability to open links in my emails. the error message I
get is "
This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer. contact you administrator" Well, this is my own personal computer
- no ties to work - any ideas?

Hello, is there any possibility to place a hypelink into the body (text) of email message which would enable opening attached files without the necessity to double-click on the attached file itself?

We sometimes send number of attachments and it would help if the receiver could just look into a list in the email message and open relevant file by clicking on the link in such list instead of searching the file itself in the attachments box.

Many thanks.
