Made a mistake using MDBVU32 deleting stuck outbox message, PLEASE HELP!

Hello,

I have made a huge mistake and don't know what to do.

I used to the MDBVU32 tool to delete two messages stuck in my outbox. This has happened before and so I knew the basic procedure.

However, I made a huge mistake and for one of the messages, I used the lpFld-DeleteMessages() (ON SELECTED MSGS) operation, neglecting to use the lpMDB-AbortSubmit() (ON SELECTED MSG) operation first.

Now the message is deleted and no longer in my outbox, but whenever I send/receive mail it just goes slowly up to 100% complete but then says send/receive error (as it did when messages were stuck in my outbox). I cannot send or receive mail now, and I'm pretty much screwed!

Does anybody know what I can do? I'm desperate here!

Thanks for everyone's time.

I have a file in my outbox --- I think it is probably too large to
process. Seems I made a mistake. Now, the problem is I can not
delete it. It says that outlook is trying to send it, but I left the
computer on all night and it is still sitting there. For info - the
size is 92MB.

I just want to delete it and send it with just one attachment and not
the two that I thought I couild send. Delete/open/etc does not work
because outlook tells me "Outlook has already begun transmitting this
message"

Help please

TIA Hal

A friend asked me for help. He has Office Academic version. His problem
began when his internet connection failed to allow him to send messages via
Outlook. He worked around this and sent those messages from his webmail. He
then deleted those messages from his outbox and deleted items folders.
(There were 11 messages).

He closed Outlook and powered down his laptop.

The next morning, he needed to send 2 more messages. Same connection
problem, same work-around (used webmail). Deleted those 2 messages from
outbox and deleted items folders.

This was about 10 days ago.

Outlook is still trying to send those 13 messages. They do NOT show in his
outbox or Sent Items folders. They are not in his deleted items folder.

He has closed Outlook multiple times and powered up and down multiple times
since the problem began.

How can he clear these ghost messages?

He is running a Dell Inspiron E1505, Windows XP Media Direct edition. Don't
remember the system specs, but can get them if necessary.

Thank you!

I have a message in my Outbox containing several photo attachments. It won't transmit, so I want to delete it. I can't get rid of it by using the Delete function and I can't drag it to another location. How can I get rid of it? -- Doug Dulley

Hi,
I made a mistake and thought I could mail a huge file to myself in order to
have a group of photos in one folder. I tried to send 30 MB at once, and it
is stuck in my outbox. I have tried over and over again to delete this email,
but can't find any way to get rid of it. I have re-booted, re-opened outlook,
tried every which way, and it won't delete from my outbox. Can anyone help?
Thanks so much. Shoshannah

This came from a 2006 post and we are having the problem recur often. New computer with Vista and Office Enterprise edition 2007. Has there been a more recent solution. The file size is not the problem. We have the problem just with messages and maybe 3 a month but they are hard to get rid of.

Any new developments would be greatly appreciated.

Click File and check Work Offline. Close and then restart outlook. Delete
the message. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.

If that doesn't work, try this:

I wrote a new e-mail and attached some pictures to it. I then tried to send
it and it went to the out box and stayed there. The message keeps saying that
windows is trying to send it however it's not going. I tried to delete it
without any success. what is the secret to deleting messages that are stuck
in the outbox. Please help.

I have a message in a users inbox that cannot be deleted, moved or copied.
When any attempt is made with these oporations a message box with "Item
Cannot Be Deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was
denied."

I disabling cached excahnange mode but that did not help. I found one
knowledge base article (ID 326396 Title: XADM: Cannot Delete or Move Messages
in Messaging Client) but it relates to an exchange 2000 environment only and
we use Exchange 2003. The client is Outlook 2003.

Any ideas on removing or clearing this mailbox. Would an offline defrag
clean it up. I really would like to avoid such a drastic measure.

I made a mistake ! I deleted a contacts public folder ! Public folders contents are not moved to the "deleted items" folder of the user that deleted them so I can't use the recover feature of Ol2k. Any suggestions ?

When using outlook express, if I add some attachments and then see I made a mistake, I cannot remove the attachments. I have to delete the email and start over. Same when the email goes into the outbox. Once there, I can't edit the message. Any way around this?

Hello,

Iíve been having some trouble with my account after adding it to outlook. So right now I have 2 accounts under windows, under the first user account there was already one email account set up so I added another account which is a Rogers Server Account. Everything set up properly and it received all the email's in my inbox, but then I realized I made a mistake and I wanted that Rogers account set up under the other user profile in windows, So I deleted the account, I switched user's and I went in to office outlook again and I set up the account again. Now this time when I push send and receive nothing happens. I will not show my inbox or outbox messages almost like it didnít sync properly because I already added it once to the other account. I'm really stuck because Iíve been trying everything to show the messages but still will not come up. If someone could help me that would be great!! Thank You

I tried your suggestion but it didn't work for me:( I'm using Outlook on my
personal PC and am not connected to a network or server...would this make a
difference? Also, when I select both messages in my Outbox and click
Shift+Delete to permanently delete them I get the message, "Some items could
not be deleted. They were either moved or deleted, or access was denied."
When I click on the More Help button I get this message, "This error may be
the result of trying to delete more than 4,000 messages at one time. Outlook
can not delete no more than 4,000 messages when it is working with a server
message store." Clearly I am not trying to delete more than 4,000
messages...and I'm not sure what a "server message store" is. Also, until
Outlook is able to send or delete these 2 messages in my Outbox, I'm not able
to receive any messages in my Inbox. Any help is greatly welcome and
appreciated!

I have Outlook 2003 and there is a large hotmail email in my outbox that I am
trying to delete, but it refuses to budge, indeed it appears to keep sending
an email to the recipient every few minutes according to the sent box.

The responses I've seen in here seem to lead in the right direction but I
was trying to follow the one about creating / changing the .pst file and it's
not completely clear, the options I am led to are diferent to those as
described. Can someone break it down more clearly for me.

Hi
Heres my problem...

I have a list of 4000 customer email addresses in a spreadsheet, who I want
to send an "email-merge" to the list.
(I'm ok with doing this)

(This is where I'm stuck)
Then cross check against the 16000 customer emails in my inbox. (some
multiple emails from the same address) and remove the ones which have
recieved a merged email...

Currently my thoughts...
Are to export the inbox to Excel and check for a match...
Trouble is... what then?

Once I have identified a matched email address how do I remove it from the
inbox without a manual sort and delete one by one?

Any help you could give with this would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks
Cav

(I'm Currently using Outlook 2003)

I have made the mistake of just deleting a message I posted to a
newsgroup, rather than using Cancel Message, and, of course, the
message is no longer on my computer to cancel. Is it possible to
reinstate it, please?

Thanks
