Unable to stop outlook to sync with IMAP account

Hi All

my outlook profile handles two accounts one is of exchange and another one
is of IMAP. Out of these two accounts I want to sync with IMAP account in
certain cases only(like when system is idle or when exchange is offline)

For achieving this I have created an Outlook Add in that handles Syncstart
event, when sync start is fired I am just stopping that by Stop() method of
Sync object.

I have tried below code but was not able to stop the sync. Can anybady help
me on this.

private NameSpace ns;
ns = ThisAplication.Session;
private Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.SyncObjectClass mySyncObject;

public void OnStartupComplete(ref System.Array custom)
{
mySyncObject = (SyncObjectClass)ns.SyncObjects[1];
mySyncObject.SyncStart += new
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.SyncObjectEvents_ SyncStartEventHandler(mySyncObject_SyncStart);
}

private void mySyncObject_SyncStart()
{
ns.SyncObjects[1].Stop();
}

Thanks in advance.

I currently have Outlook 2010 and am unable to receive messages for an IMAP account.  In order to receive messages I must close and restart the application.  I tried the troubleshooting steps listed on TechNethttp://bit.ly/dlxNu6 but the issue still has not been resolved.

Please help.

I am working with a client who has one large gmail account (tens of thousands of emails) set up with IMAP and his Outlook freezes while syncing. It will show new messages, but it never finishes the synchronizing headers process. I have tried:

1) Repairing PST

2) Reinstalling Outlook (with and without old PST)

3) Reinstalling XP with nothing but Outlook 2010

After 3) Outlook no longer becomes unresponsive and each folder updates message count, but syncing never finishes - even after 24 hours. Network connection times out - I restart it and it times out again. There is probably about 20 to 30 minutes between timeouts.

- Windows XP Home

- Outlook 2010 32bit

- Microsoft Security Essentials

- Hi-speed internet

- Gmail web interface works and IMAP is enabled.

- at this time there is no old PST data or profile or anything left from initial Outlook configuration

- Outlook is completely default except account settings for IMAP Gmail including SSL IMAP and TLS SMTP

I am not new to troubleshooting Outlook but I am in over my head with this problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi,
I've a problem with Outlook 2007.
I tried (in vain) to add the mail2web exchange server, not knowing OWA
wasn't included in the free service I subscribed for Windows Mobile's direct
push.
Apparently it wasn't a matter as I simply couldn't add anything because
Outlook couldn't connect/check my user name.
Closing the 'email' window I opened from control panel I opened Outlook
again.
It crashed 4-5 times, much for Windows to send further details about the
crashes to Microsoft. I accepted.
After some tries, it simply opened without crashing but here it is the
surprise:
---------------------------
Microsoft Office Outlook
---------------------------
Unable to start processing services. Unable to start Outlook.
Unable to find a data file to send and receive mail.
To add a data file, for example a file of personal folders, double click on
the 'email' icon into Control Panel of Windows.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
It doesn't crash any more, my old email are there, data files are there too,
so there are all accounts, and no traces of the exchange server I had tried
to add.
Simply, Outlook doesn't receive nor send anything, if I try to send
something I receive a message telling he doesn't find data files and if I try
to send/receive it prints a message for every account:
Unable to complete the activity *email-address* - Sending and receiving
(0x8004010F): "Unable to execute the operation. Unable to find an object."

I found a very old MS KB which says to delete Offitems.log and/or
Outitems.log but if refers to Outlook 2000, and I can't find those files
anywhere.
The KB is @ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244385/en-us/ .
Hope someone has some sort of idea.
P.S. All messages have been translated from Italian, they could be not
precise!
Thanks.

Hi,

I just reload office in the new Win 7 system and setup email in outlook to
retrieve from IMAP account. Outlook now is trying to retrieve the entire
email which contain thousands of old email from last few years. So, how do I
set a limit that it willonly retrieve email from last 30 days?

Thanks

I wish to have my  PC Outlook calendar stay in sync with a calendar that is easily displayed on my iphone4 but there have been numerous problems. I am not supported with a enterprise system. I am a stand alone  PC user.

 I purchased Mobileme from apple at the time of the iphone4 purchase as I was told it would provide me with calendar to stay in sync with outlook on the PC and  Iphone4. It did not work.

I have installed "Google calendar sync"  on my PC so that the Google calendar  can be used on iphone4  and stay in sync with outlook.

Now the Outlook program will not open at all.  I can not uninstall the "Google calendar sync"   as the error message says close outlook.

Outlook does not appear to be open.

What is the solution?  How do I close the outlook program if it does not apear to be open?

and

 Is thier a recomendation to keep Outlook calendar on  iphone4 for single user?

Hello,

I have checked other posts for similar error. My is quite different I think. Here is the scenario:

We have DomainUser currently running MsOutlook 2010 on OldDomain using DomainUser account to login on Windows XP Pro.

We recently converted DomainUser to join AD (active Directory) and the account is ADUser to login.

In the process of migrating DomainUser profile, we have ADUser logged in once, we modify DomainUser profile permission by granting ADUser account exact same permission from the registry. Reboot and login with ADUser account, everything works great but outlook.

When launched outlook 2010, it opens and everything else except for sending/receiving with message "unable to access outlook data file; Access denied"

Found out after converted a handful of users... Technically I almost tried all possible combination to fix the issue. Including export pst and import. No luck?

Any suggestion would greatly appreciated,

Andy

Can anyone tell me how to get my contacts from Outlook 2003 with Microsoft Exchange Server to show in Outlook 2010 with IMAP account?

Need advice I have moved a couple of mailboxes from an Exchange 2000 install to an Exchange 2003 install.  I only wanted to move a couple of them to test it out.  I used Move Mailbox Wizard from Exchange System Manager
When I go to the client machine I am unable to open Outlook on the client side.  I was assured by a Microsoft Exchange Engineer that this would not be a problem.
When I go to change the configuration in Account setup to the new server then I can open Outlook.

I need some advice on what I can do to make this work on the client side.  I really do not want to touch 600 client machines.

Please help.

Thanks in advance

2. Exchange Task Wizard popup, move the mailbox from server 1 to server 2;
3. Successful message for moving mailbox.
4. Then I logon the systems, open properties of Outlook Express, change email account from server 1 to server 2; At this point, a screen popup asking for username, password and domain.
5. I got the error message for username/password incorrect.
6. I am sure the username/password is correct.

NONE of my exchange clients can open outlook. They can acces mail via OWA.
1 database error was fixed w/isinteg. All Outlook clients cannot open
Outlook with the error: "Cannot start microsoft office outlook. Unable to
open Outlook folders."
Mail flows fine.

This question is directed to Patrick Schmid. I am once again having problems
launching Outlook 07. I have been running the Office 07 Beta for many months
and you assisted me in correcting the problem I was having, it was back in
early October.

Today I was interested in installing the Calendar Creator for Office 07 and
downloaded it from the MS website. Before I was able to install it, the
installation required me to download and install the Net.framework v3. I did
that and now I am completely unable to launch Outlook. Here is what I have
done:

I disabled the plugin from Norton antivirus, which is what you suggested I
do back in early October, which did enable me to use Outlook for the past
month and a half. I then ran the repair program for Office 07, and rebooted
and attempted to launch Outlook and I get an installation error OLMAPI.DLL
error as I did in the past and still cannot launch Outlook. I am so
frustrated with this whole process and wish I had never installed the B2TR.
I would appreciate any help and assistance from you.

Thanks in advance.

I get the message "Cannot start Microsoft Office outlook. Unable to open
outlook window. the set of folders could not be opened."

First I restored the system to where I knew it was working. Then repaired
Outlook, then removed Outlook and reinstalled with the original disk and
updated as suggested. Still no start. Anyone got a suggestion.

Testing Outlook 2007 with IMAP w/ SSL (port 993) from outside of our network
and for some reason it wouldn't work. I checked the logs for our border
firewall and noticed that it was trying to contact my email server with port
365 UDP.

Is this an additional port that Oulook 2007 uses for some reason? Is there a
document that lists the new/different ports that Outlook 2007 uses?

Thanks!

Question:

is there a work around to stop Outlook from removing the auto signature when
replying to a message that is sent in plain text. We get the message
signature not found, outlook will let you respond to the message, but when
you go to tools and mail format to see if the signature is still listed it
isn't. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Please help! I am unable to open Outlook Express. I have Windows 98. When
I double click on my Outlook Express icon at the desktop, a pop-up box tells
me that it cannot find MSOE.DLL and it may be out of memory. I hit ok and
then another box says that Outlook Express may not be installed properly.
This problem started after I was trying to free up space by deleting items on
my C drive/Program Files. I have already emptied my recycle bin. What can I
do to get my Outlook Express working again (it is how I email). Thank you
for your help.

I am unable to start outlook 2003,
I get a bubble on the taskbar saying
:unable to start processing services :

Outlook then produces an send error message box to microsoft
and then closes. NO other problems on system.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I have tried system restore and repaired and reinstalled office to no avail.
