Moving Outlook Emails, Contacts, Calendar & Notes

My old PC, with WinXP Home and Office 2003, just died. I've set up another
system to replace it. It is equipped with Vista and Office 2003. I did not
have my emails, contacts, calendar and notes backed up before this system
failure, but the old HD is intact and readable. How can I retrieve my
Outlook data and set it up on the new PC?

I don't see (or simply don't know where to look for) a file with that data
in the Office program file folders.

I have several computers running W7 Ultimate and would like to sync Outlook email folders, contacts, calendar, notes and tasks across these computers.  Will Live Mesh accomplish this?  Any other product or service you offer?

When I transferred Outlook data from Windows XP to Windows 7, I somehow created an "extra" folder for Contacts, Calendar, Notes and Tasks. I now have two of each, one with the proper data and one which is empty. I am in an exchange server setting. How can I delete the extra folders?

I've read all the excellent help re moving outlook (emails, contacts, etc) to
a new computer using 'Import and Export'. That all works fine for me but
only the text of emails transfer, not the attachments or the send/receive
dates. What am i doing wrong?

I have an issue where a user prefers to keep his deleted items in his
Deleted Items folder for a
specific amount of time. I am trying to move several of his deleted
tasks/contacts/calendar items to another folder but it instead of
moving the objects, it attempts to convert them to attachments in an
email. I just want to move them to another folder in the same mailbox
of the user. Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks in advance.

email, Contacts and Calendar I need to copy Outlook files to a Mac laptop

I upgraded to Outlook 2007 earlier this week with no problems. I then
upgraded from Windows XP to Vista which is when my outlook problem began. My
contacts, calendar and emails/folders all worked fine and showed up after
upgrading to Office 2007, but after upgrading to Vista I have nothing but my
newest emails (from yesterday and today).

I'm at wits end as to what to do. I've search the knowledge base and many
of the communities but no luck. Anyone else have this problem and if so, is
it correctable? I have the windows.old directory and all of the other
files/folders that were under windows xp.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had an issue with my computer and experienced the "blue screen of death",
and the ensuing "beginning dump of physical memory" message.

subsequently, i lost my entire profile, and all of my email, contacts and
calendar from Outlook 2003.

I was able to recover my email, but am hitting a dead end trying to find and
recover my contacts and calendar.

any suggestions?

thanks,

I use Outlook one computer, it is not a network. I have an office in another
city and want to copy all my data to it. Is there a simple way to copy all
my emails, contacts, calendars, tasks etc and move them to the remote city?
I can either use a USB drive or "gotomy pc.com and transfer the files.
Any help will be appreciated.

I am currently running Outlook 2000 on Windows XP. I want to upgrade to
Outlook 2007.

I want to move my emails, contacts, calendar from 2000 to 2007.

What is the best way to do this?

It is sure nice to know that I'm not the only frustrated former MSN
Intellisync person. I spent 6 hours today trying to speak with a technical
representative, from the US to India about 10 loops. Each time they said I
was being transferred to a Technical Support Rep, I ended up again with a
Customer Support Representative. I signed up for MOOL, but it didn't work,
so cancelled the same day after much arguing with the Customer Rep; they
weren't going to refund my $44, said I'd have to use the remaining year even
though I was NOT happy, nor did I have the calendar sync capability from
Outlook to MSN Premium. I'm totallly and completely frustrated today with
the Microsoft circus.

Thanks for letting me vent...anyone else figure this out?

Thank you for replying, Diane.

I have a Hotmail account. It is set as my default in Outlook. What exactly
was not working is this, from the
Outlook Live brochure that came with the install cd: "Whenever you delete
messages, add folders, update
contacts, schedule events, or create tasks, the changes are automatically
reflected in your Hotmail or MSN
Mail account as well as in Outlook."

What happened, instead, is that Outlook displayed my Hotmail calendar window
in a parallel window to my
Outlook calendar, but it wouldn't sync them. Same for contacts. There are
multiple posts from other
users complaining about the same thing.

Do you have Outlook Live installed with Outlook and with a Hotmail account
and are you able
to get true synchronization, as promised in the brochure?

What exactly isn't working as described in the brochure? Is the MSN mail
store set as your default? Everything on the server will sync with the
local
msn store - not with your personal folders file.

if you only have an msn account you can set it as default and close the
personal folders. If you have multiple accounts, use rules to move them
out
of the default pst so you can set the msn one as default and not upload
all
the mail to the msn server (unless you want to).

Hello All,

I have installed Office 2007 on my both the machines with XP pro and Vista
Home Premium. I know that by default all Outlook data is stored on C: Since I
use SystemRestore options in the OS, if I ever restore my system to the
previous point, I will lose all Outlook data after than point.

To avoid this issue, I plan to move ALL (I really mean ALL, emails,
contacts, Calendar, notes and whatever else that I am not yet aware of) away
from C: [I plan to make Outlook folder on another drive which I can backup
often]

Searching on the web didn't lead to any conclusive results.

Any suggestions for complete resolution of my question are gladly accepted.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am moving and I want to move Outlook 2000 contacts from Comcast server ot
cox.net server. Cox.net will only import contacts folders in a CSV
extension?? Help--I have exported contacts to Excel in Office 2000
Will I be able to do this without upgrades? I am running Windows 2000 and
really do not want to upgrade this machin. I am transferring all to Windows
XP in a new machine after my move.

Currently I'm running WinXP x32 on various systems all using Office 2007.
Only one system is my "production" system and the others are either test
systems or just running as a server. When using the other systems I often
need to send emails from those systems and it would be really nice if I
could have the contacts, calendar, task list (everything in OL but the
email) etc. automatically sync between the systems. I DO NOT have exchange
installed and for just a single user I don't see the need. Is there an
application that will keep OL in-sync on the different systems?

How do I transfer my Outlook 2000 contacts, calendar, e-mails, etc from my
old computer to my new computer running Outlook 2007.
I have 2 Personal Folders on Outlook 2000 - I exported/backed up the 2000
..PST files, but when I tried to restore them in Outlook 2007 itye only
imported 1 of the 2 Personal Folders and NO contacts or calendar data.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

I've found that I cannot open or create Outlook appointments. These are
individual appointments/reminders and not recurring ones. I am not getting
error messages or any other indication that something's amiss. All other
aspects of Outlook (email, contacts, tasks, notes) are working fine.

I can view daily, weekly and monthly calendars and can delete appointments,
but nothing else (including scheduling mettings). First noticed this when I
was synching with my Palm and was getting an error message in the synch log.

I have cleared the forms cache, but it had no effect on my problem.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.
