I am using Outlook 2003 connecting to a Exchange Server on our local lan.

I recieve Emails from other people logged into my Exchange Server, and many
times not always I cannot see the Imbeded pictures. I get no error, no
blocked picture message, and no message to download the picture. All I can
see is the outline of a box teh size the picture should be with a Red X in
the upper left conner.

I can take this same Email and click on Reply or Forward and the Pictures
will become visible on the new copy of the Email I'm about to send out.

This is driving me waco:
Any Ideas???

some of my emails in outlook xp are coming thru with a red "X" in the upper
right hand corner. any suggestions for getting the Picture to come thru and
get rid of the red "X"?

I am using Outlook Web Access 2003 with Internet Explorer 6 (Windows
XP SP2) at home for reading my business mail. However, I am unable to
send a new message or reply to a message. I keep getting the body of
the email with a box with a red
x in upper left hand corner of the email. I have not been
able to correct. Can anyone help?

embedded red x in atachment in outlook 2003, but opens when forwarding. This
problem doesn't happen to every email attachments received from any
particular senders, nor any file ext for the attachment.

Hello,

I have Outlook 2007 and Windows XP. Someone sent me an email that is
supposed to have a graphic or a picture in it. All I see is a little blank
white box with a little red x in it.

Is there any way I can change the encoding (or whatever else I might need to
do) in order to be able to see the picture? It appears that the sender did
use html code and not plain text when composing and sending the email.

Thanks in advance for any help that anyone may be able to give.

On September 21, 2011 when I open my Outlook 2010 to read my emails, most of the emails containing images has a Red X in place of the image. I have tried going into the Trust Center/settings & unchecking the "Do not download pics automatically". Doesn't change a thing. I have read several sites trying to figure this out & nothing is working. Initially, it was only my Facebook notifications that had this problem. Now there are others....some images do download, but the majority don't. I do have to mention that I had contacted my computer tech support guy (in the USA), me being in S Korea because I another issue with Outlook 2010 in that it was not responding to any clicking action. That was solved by the tech guy in part by him unintsalling & reinstalling Outlook 2010. When he reinstalled & I went to check my emails the following morning, the Red X began to appear. I hope someone can help. I would like to see my images again.

I get a little red "x" in the text area (message area) when I try to reply or
send a new email in Outlook Web Access Mail. I have Vista and IE7. It
doesn't happen when I try from a pc with XP and IE7. I've tried adjusting
security settings (firewalls) and it doesn't matter. Please help!!

I am using Outlook 2003 and XP and getting Red X's for ALL Outlook pictures -
even
upon reply or forward. And the infobar no longer comes up to give me the
option to download them. (For Outlook Only. IE works fine)

I have tried toggling all Outlook & IE options, turned my firewalls off,
added
senders to safe list, disabled my anti-virus. All to no avail. I have yet
to create a new user as this problem doesn't sound similar to others in that
my pictures don't "re-appear" upon forwarding or replying and this issue is
happening with ALL internet based pictures in Outlook.

Thank you for any advice you may offer.

I have several workstations running both XPsp2 and Vista and all running IE7
that when I open Outlook Web Access and try to reply to an email, I get a red
X in the box where the text would go.
I have read several forums that say it is a security issue, an Exchange
hotfix even missing add-ons but nothing I can find to fix the problem. I have
two machines sitting on my desk and one works fine and teh other has the red
x. I have compared the settings on both machines and can not find anything
glaring obvious.
I knwo others have had this problem, have others found the fix?

Thank You
HM

I get random yellow text in outgoing outlook 2007 emails.

Thanks All. I just got a new PC and installed this release of Outlook. I
have VISTA with all service packs on desktop. What am I missing to not
see the pictures and only see and red X in a box?
Thanks in advance.

In the last few days my hyperlinks have stopped working in Office Outlook
2007. I can click on any hyperlink in any email I recieve and nothing
happens. I don't even get an error message or redirected. Nothing happens.
I ran the diagnostics for Office and no error was detected. Is there a way
to turn off hyperlinks that I may have inadvertently started or stopped?

I'm having the same problem. The paste option appears highlighted, as if it will work, but when it's clicked, nothing happens. Really need a solution for this. Any ideas?

Also, just tried to copy an email address to paste into a new email and got
the same results. I had to key it in. Would not let me paste it.
