After applying Exchange 2010 SP1, all our users are unable to reply / forward emails in OWA (light version or 'enhanced' whatever it's called now). Some emails they cannot even click on without getting error messages. I've already fixed the "Domain Names / Names have spaces in them" problem, this seems to be a different issue. Here are the details of the error message:

I'm also getting an excessive amount of ActiveSync 1008 warnings (every 5 seconds or so) for all my iPhone users after the update. I don't know if it is related, but iPhone email seems slow at best.

I was finally able to complete a remote-move (cross forest) from Exchange 2007 SP2 to Exchange 2010 Rollup 2. There is a 2 way trust between the 2 domains. The move request shows as completed, however when I try to login to OWA I get "Error Problem occured while you were trying to use your mailbox". When I open up the user properties in the Exchange Console, I get the number of items and size - but when I click on the Calendar Settings tab I get the following:

Cannot open mailbox /o=XXX/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYBIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=configuration/cn=servers/cn=MS/cn=Microsoft System Attendant.
It was running the command 'Get-CalendarProcessing -Identity 'domainname/Users/testuser' -ReadFromDomainController

In OWA if I get open the details of the error I get:

Request
Url: https://exchange.domainname.com:443/owa/default.aspx
User host address: (IP ADDR REMOVED)
User: testuser
EX Address: /o=XXX/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=testuser
SMTP Address: testuser@domain.com
OWA version: 14.0.689.0

Exception
Exception type: Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.MailboxUnavailable Exception
Exception message: Cannot open mailbox /o=XXX/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=testuser.

I would be happy to post the entire error if needed.

Anyone have any thoughts? As always, thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm getting the folowing error when trying to open OWA:

"A problem occurred while trying to use your mailbox. Please contact technical support for your organization"

I've searched the net and found this microsoft article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941146)which explains I need to update the msExchVersion attribute using the following command:

Set-Mailbox User_Name -ApplyMandatoryProperties

I'm using one exchange 2007 server across a few domains, so i've enter the command:

Set-Mailbox domain2User_Name -ApplyMandatoryProperties

but get the following error:

Set-Mailbox: The operation could not be performed because object 'domain2user_name' could not be found on domain controller 'server.domain.local'

Does anyone know how I go about doing this in my situation?

Thanks

Tried to install your outlook 2003 and have spent two days trying to get all
the aspects to work. Keep getting an error message when I start up that an
add-in cannot be found yet I installed Office Professional 2003, reinstalled
it, ran the "fix" in the help menu 3 times and nothing seems to interfere
with that message popping up.

Next, tried to do an export to csv file for contacts and then tried to
import that file to my hotmail. You guessed it, that didn't work either.
Keep getting the message that the file is not in the correct format. Yet,
your very instructions say create a .csv file. Have you ever tried to use
your instructions? Try it. It might help you understand just how
frustrating your messages are. Simply put, they are just too complicated for
anyone other than a magician to figure out.

And if that is not enough, your calendar just will not sync with a handheld
Blackberry. What should be a simple operation is again just too complicated
to get to work.

And finally, when I go to get help, I see that you charge $35 just to answer
the e-mail or the phone call. That is adding insult to injury.

In short, I am not at all happy with Outlook and understand now why many
companies turn to Lotus Notes. They have the solution, you simply do not.

Hi.
i am getting an Undeliverable mail from Exchange 2007 Server When i try to send email to another user.Actually the mail is delivered to the reciepent, however i get the Undeliverable email from exchange server. The error is given below:

Im running a Exchange 2003 machine with SP1 (singel server environment). I´ve
been laborating with OMA on a lab machine and encountered some problems
accessing http://servername/oma if i try using host headers for the domain
name (The error in the web browser is: A System error has occurred while
processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact
your administrator. ) If i turned off host headers for the domain name. The
problem vanished, and OMA could be accessed normally.

But now i have setup our live environment the same way. The only problem is
that the machine MUST have two IP numbers (10.2.3.200, and 10.2.3.201). 200
is internal and 201 is for NAT usage (SMTP / OWA). Even if i tell IIS only to
use the 201 address - i still get that annoying message like the one above
within (...) .

And if i look in the Application event log, i get the 1502 and 1503 event
id:s like below:

Event ID: 1502 - No Basic credentials were found in the HTTP request. To fix
this problem, verify that Basic authentication is turned on and all other
authentication methods are turned off on the Outlook(R) Mobile Access virtual
directory.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Event ID: 1503 - An unknown error occurred while processing the current
request:
Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I tried with or without form based authentication, with or without SSL. But
the result is the same. It seams to have something to do with the server
having dual IP´s (same error message as if you were trying to use host
headers).

Anyone have a suggestion for a work around ?!

Hi Jan,

No, I never did. Using Word as email editor was a major performance
issue for me so I never used it (and most of my emails are plain text
anyhow).
Is it just the status bar and the different views you are missing? What
do you think about the Ribbon in Word and Outlook looking similar but
not identical (as the Outlook one is optimized for emails)? In case you
didn't notice, the Format Text tab is almost identical to the Word Home
tab. Ribbon issues are something you can address by customizing the
Ribbon, so if you wanted it to look more like Word, you could achieve
that. Status bar though is off-limit to customization. I am currently
working on an add-in to let users customize the Ribbon with a UI (as
there is none in Office), and I discuss customization in general on my
blog on my website.

I've downloaded the While You Were Out template for Outlook 2003 at
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/mssampleapps.htm.

When I try to print this out some of the message headers appear in
German, this is the same if you do a print preview.

Any ideas how to remove the German text

thanks.

in Outlook 98 there was a function to send a message you have taken for
someone i.e. while you were out. Is this on Outlook 2007/2003?

Using the sample form provided by slipstick "While you were out".

Have published the form to our organizational forms library, and is visible to all. I have a customization question, but will post that later once we solve this strange problem.

I am seeing the correct form, when i open it and 'send' the message. However, when i look at what is received, either by me when sent to myself, or on any colleague's account, I see no body text that was entered, and instead see multiple entries of one of my signatures.

Here is the form as filled out just prior to hitting send

Here is what is received.

Anyone have a clue what might be going on? I would love for this to work, as we can really use the functionality in this form.

Thanks

Jeff

Hi All

We have got a 100MB switched network (with a 1GB backbone). I am monitoring the network with MRTG and some other applications, and all the systems seem to be idling.

Even our Exchange 2003 servers seem to be idling. The problem is, that many of our users get this "Please wait while trying to retrieve data from the Exchange server" baloon every so often. It takes close to forever to open a MS Word attachment that is only 32Kb in size.

Larger attachments obviously takes longer. It takes quite a while for Outlook to resolve the address of the (internal) user that you're trying to e-mail.

It seems to be a very "on and off" sort of thing.

On one of our remote sites (with its own Exchange 2003 server), the users on that site are authenticated by an AD DC on another remote site - even though this site has its own AD DC.

Any thoughts?

Hi Sir/Madam,

Hope you doing all well,

Please contact technical support for your organization.”

my error is the same as you can see as you access the below url;

Source: Microsoft.Exchange.OMA.UserInterface
Stack trace:
at
Microsoft.Exchange.OMA.UserInterface.Global.Applic ation_PreRequestHandlerExecute(Object sender, EventArgs e)
at
System.Web.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpA pplication+IExecutionStep.Execute()
at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionS tep step, Boolean&
completedSynchronously)

I tried with or without form based authentication, with or without SSL. But
the result is the same. It seams to have something to do with the server
having dual IP´s (same error message as if you were trying to use host
headers). I have also setup the virtual directory according to solution 2 in
KB Article ID : 817379 (/ExchDAV) - works lika a charm. But not with host
header or multiple IP´s.

Anyone have a suggestion for a work around ?!

One day, whilst browsing for programs to drag on to my quick launch toolbar,
including new contact", "new task", etc. I came across a template "While you
were out" which is great for taking down and sending messages to my
colleagues. Now they all want to load it on to their quick launch toolbars -
but I'm blowed if I can find it again! Can anyone help?

ARRRGGHH !!!! This problem REALLY has me stumped!!

I'm trying to do a mail merge and Outlook (or perhaps Word?) insists on
going out and grabbing the WRONG FILE, and then it gives me a couple of error
messages because this "wrong file" is supposedly "being used by another
process"!

I'm using Office 2007 on Vista Home Premium, including Outlook 2007 with
Business Contact Manager. Here's how the problem occurs:

**Step 1.** When trying to MAIL MERGE, in the "Mail Merge Contacts" dialog
box I use the Browse... button, go out and select for the merge an EXISTING
document file (350KB in size and named YYMM-LNAME##-PFNNOTES.DOC) in the
following directory:

C:UsersPaulDocumentsTmadminforms1 TCABS business document
templates300 Project File Name Notes

(BTW, please note this file path)

**Step 2.** Then I click "OK" to do the merge, but instead I get TWO error
messages:

FIRST error message:

"Word cannot open this document template."
(C:...2A Draft Client Feedback Form...)

(please note THIS path also)

SECOND error message:

"the process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process"

Anyways, after this happens I notice several things:

a)***here's what's REALLY strange*** If you look above, you'll see that the
FILE PATH that appears along with the "Word cannot open this document
template" method is DIFFERENT from the file path that I used to select the
merge file (which by the way is a DOC file; I don't know why the error
message refers to it as a TEMPLATE (i.e. DOT) file)

b) in the folder containing the .DOC file I wanted to use for the merge,
there is a new "hidden" file, only 162 bytes in size, named
~$MM-LNAME##-PFNNOTES. Is this some sort of temp file?

c) The Windows Task Manager tells me that WINWORD.EXE process is still
running at this point, so I "kill" it and then I'm able to delete the
~$MM-LNAME##-PFNNOTES file mentioned above - and try the mail merge all over
again, to no avail.

......
Well, I'm at my wit's end. I spent a LOT of time creating the mail merge
document and am really annoyed that I can't use it. Do you have any idea
what might be causing this problem? For any assistance you can provide,
THANK YOU kindly!

I have been using OE6 to get to my hotmail account, and a few days ago it
suddenly stopped working. I contacted hotmail support, they suggested
deleting and reinstalling the hotmail account in OE, which reduced the error
messages from two to one, but I still couldn't get messages. I complained
again, they suggested going to OE tech support. I couldn't find the answer.
Can you help?

Regards,

Crunchie
