I am using Outlook 2002. I have AOl. I have about 700 emails in outlook.
When I try to open an email I see "fetching new headers" and the email won't
open. What can I do to correct this problem?

Hello,
I finished installing an IMAP account, I have Outlook 2000.
I'm getting this error message: "could not fetch new headers in the inbox
for bp@.....com. An unknown error has occurred."
Does anyone know how I can get rid of it?

Any help will be appreciated it.

I am using outlook on about 50 computers. Some outlook 2000, some 2002, some
2007, all eityher small business ed or professional ed

I have set up e-mail accounts for all my users with an external host.

I have set up the users to fetch mail via IMAP

My problem is that 3 out of 4 times I get an error saying that outlook could
not fetch IMAP headers. But themnn suddenly it will work.

If I use POP 3 it works witout a hitch. But IMAP only works intermittently.

What could be the cause?

I am receiving a error message while trying to send e-mails from my out box
the server you are connected to is using s security certificate that could
not be verified.

After installing Exchange 2003 into an existing Exchange 5.5 environment, I
created a mail-enabled test account and tried connecting to it with Outlook
2003. The profile configuration fails with a "Name could not be resolved.
The name could not be matched to a name in the address list." One odd thing
is that the user appears in the address list but the information store does
not show the new mailbox. I've checked permissions at the OU level (per
article 297801) and made sure the information store was mounted. Any other
suggestions?

I have just upgraded my servers on new hardware, (5 of them) to Windows 2003
Server Standard, at the same time I upgraded my Exchange 2000 to Exchange
2003 by Installing a clean Exchange 2003 on a new server and moving my
mailboxes over. I have reset my external DNS and my firewall to point to the
new servers/names. Although we had a some issues at first we now have access
to all the mailboxes either using Outlook locally or OWA locally or remotely.
However we do have a couple of issues that I just can't seem to find the
right solution for yet. 1. We are getting Event ID's 2012 & 2013 every hour
and 15 minutes or so, the the Warning 2012 states that "SMTP could not
connect to the DNS server '192.168.1.22'. The protocol used was 'UDP'. It may
be down or inaccessible. However whenever I check we connect to the DNS
server at 192.168.1.22 just fine. The only other issue we had with the
migration was with the Public folder and it seems we are having a host header
issue. We don't seem to be having any other problems with the SMTP but this
worries me. Can anyone point me in the right direction to finding out why
these errors are popping up in the Event Viewer.

When I start Outlook 2003, I get a message saying: "Business Contact Manager
for Outlook could not complete your last action or actions. Please try
again." The blue header on the error message says "BUsiness Contact Manager
for Outlook"

When I go to the "Contacts" tab, all my contacts are there, and I can add
new ones, edit old ones and delete any I want.

When I push the mail tab, everything shows up normally and I can compose,
read and delete e-mails. The problem arises when I push the button on the
"To". "CC" or "Bcc" button. Then I get the following error message: "The
messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists,
restart Outlook."

If I type in the address, the e-mail works fine. It even autofills.

I'm using XP Home with all updates as of this morning, Windows Office Pro
2003 with all updates as of this morning. I use a fully implemented Windows
Live Care, and also use Ad-Aware, Registry Mechanic. I did a full virus scan
at midnioght last night (the problem has been going on for two days) and I do
a full Ad-Aware scan about three times per week, yesterday afternoon being
the most recent.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Attachment does not show on header which usually below cc field but it is in
message body when I create new email in outllook 2003 but another outlook
will attach in header on another machine. Any tips and information will be
appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Johnny Chow

Hi,
Event ID 7519 (The originating IP address of message with ID
xxxx@domain.com> could not be determined based on its Received headers.) is
logged in several times a day on my Exchange server. The messages originate
from a server that's defined in the Perimeter IP List and Internal IP Range
Configuration. I tried comparing the headers of a message that causes the
event with a message that does not (both coming from the same server) and
they're virtually identifcal. The problem is that the messages sometimes
end up in the recipient's junk folder because Exchange/IMF can't determine
whether the message came from a "trusted" IP or not. How do I troubleshoot
this? 80%-90% emails coming from that same server are not causing the event
to be triggered.

Thanks! :)

J.

Error: occurs when I send/receive I get the object could not be found. So I have contacted my email provider and received the correct incoming and outgoing server information, also I have attempted to create a new profile  and that didn't work, I am using windows 7, internet browser is firefox, and office 2007.

Other pertinent info I can not even see my email accounts on the main screen. Although when I pull up  the settings I can see them there and I have tried sending out a trial attempt and I do receive an email to my account welcoming me to outlook but nothing happens on the screen, no change in the inbox or outbox.

My Antivirus is ESET

Any help is great.

Hi All

I have a customer on Exchange 2003 using Outlook 2007. He sends out a meeting request to a user in a different company ( who is on Exchange 2007 ). The external user declines the meeting and proposes a new time. The organizer receives the declined message back, but the new proposed time is not shown in the header bar and is not added to the calendar in the new timeslot.

However - when the same organizer sends the same meeting request to an INTERNAL user. The internal recipient declines the request and sends  the new proposed time back to the organizer. The organizer receives the message with the new proposed time showing up just fine and inserted in his calendar.

Any idea why this happens with external recipients outside the user's exchange organization ? I have searched the web and could not find a definitive answer.

Any help is appreciated

When using the new junk email reporting tool for Outlook 2010 I get a error reporting tool could not attach to your  message

Hello,

I have an MS Exchange Server 2003 (v. 6.5.7638.1)¬*running on Windows Server 2003 SE.¬* I have several users accessing email via OWA on IE 7¬*when logged into a terminal server also running Windows Server 2003 SE.¬*¬*One user cannot send a new email or reply to a received email:¬* Error (if no subject entered) is "Can't Perform This Action"; Error (if any subject entered) is "The Item Could Not Be Found. It May Have Been Deleted".¬* This user can receive new emails, read & delete old/new emails, but just can't send.¬* All was fine until last week; I had made changes to that user's Active Directory profile¬*early in the week (Tuesday) but the user didn't report any problem until Friday.¬* Changes made were adding another user to the mailbox rights/permissions list, and allowing FULL ACCESS.

It does seem like a user rights problem, as¬*I can send emails on that user's account in OWA when logged into the terminal server with an administrator account.¬* Any ideas?

Thank you,
Byron

I am currently running a clustered Exchange 2003 server setup running on Windows 2003 servers.† Recently we have had to remove a domain admin account that i think was used to install the original Exchange 2003 setup.† Now whenever we create a new user and Exchange mailbox, when it actually comes to logging onto the mailbox for the first time we get the following error message:

The action could not be completed.† The name could not be resolved to a name in the address list

Does anyone have any ideas regarding this problem, i have read somewhere to rerun the domain prep but this had no effect on resolving the problem.

hi everybody,
we are using exch 2003 on win 2003.
we came across a strange issue today.

we use outlook 2003 as messaging client.
when one of our users tried to open a message with attachment, a small message window appeared saying "could not open one or more attachments"
once he clicked the OK button the message opened but with no attachment. we configured a new profile, we configured the profile in some other's system, but the problem went unresolved.

the user was in online mode and cached exchange mode was not enabled.

when we enabled the cached exchange mode, all things were working fine. messages were opened without any message window and attachments were very much visible.

can somebody explain how all this happened.

thanks in advance...

Here's a good one.

Below are the replication results from 2 different users on my (inherited) Exchange 5.5/NT4 Domain when replicated to my 2003 domain.

User 1 replicated fine from the NT4 domain to the 2003 Domain.

User 2 doesn't even replicate to the correct domain! ADC attempts to replicate user 2 back into the same domain! That is why I'm getting the error message because it is trying to replicate the user to a location that doesn't exist! Is this madness or what?

Good replication

Successfully replicated the object 'cn=dmccarriher,cn=Recipients,ou=yyyyy,o="my organization"' to object 'CN=McCarriher, David,OU=Recipients,OU=my organization,DC=NEW2003DOMAIN,DC=local'. (Connection Agreement 'Users: RAI-Energy.local - atlasamericaAtlas America, Inc.' #1924)

Bad replication

ADC could not replicate cn=JDelia,cn=Recipients,ou=yyyyy,o="my organization" to CN=Delia, James,CN=Users,DC=OLDNT4DOMAIN,DC=local because the target object is not writable

Some background:
OLD NT4 Domain - 2NT4 boxes (both DC's, 1 Exchange 5.5), 1 Windows 2003 box w/Active Directory. The domain is a NT4 domain.

New 2003 domain - 2 2003 Boxes (both DC's, 1 Exchange 2003)

ADC has three agreements:

ConfigCA - Lists the NEW domain DC as the Windows Server and the NEW domain Exchange server as the exchange server. (Is this correct? It seems screwy, I thought it should list the 2003 DC and the Exch 5.5 server or am I wrong?)

CA 1 - 2 way Public folder CA between the NT4-2003 domains

CA 2 - 2 way user CA between both domains.

The strange thing is that the connection works, but only for the older users. Newer users just don't replicate to the correct location; ADC somehow tries to replicate them to a location within the OLD (NT4) domain rather than bringing them over to the new domain. The connection definitely works in reverse also; if I create a new user in 2003 it replicates it to NT4. It also replicates any changes to that same user on the NT4 side BACK TO the 2003 side.

The ADC wizard does nothing. It keeps telling me that there are unreplicated items yet it cannot set up any CA's that do anything about it?

Any thoughts? I've spent hours on this with no luck.

Hi. I am new to Ms. Exchange server and i am facing some issues after i started to install
the application in my company. Hope that the experts here could help me on this. Thanks
in advance. Here goes the scenario:
I installed the Ms. Exchange Server in my office A and after that
i started to face problems in sending emails to the colleagues in Office B which does not have Ms. Exchange installed.
Both of us our email addresses are like a@company.com and b@company.com.

It gives me a message like below:
/----------------------------------------------------
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
††† b@company.com on 21-Sep-05 8:20 PM
†††††††††† The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to.† Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

/----------------------------------------------------
Anyone please help me on this?

I have set up a new server that is suppose to take over for the old server, and did it in a way that is probably not the way to do it...

I just installed everything on the new server, and went through the "Migration wizard". All the mail boxes got copied, and everything looked OK. Actually, it still looks pretty OK. I can connect to the server, and all mail is working fine.

BUT, when i click "Send and recieve" i get this error:

quote:error 0X8004010F: "The operation failed. An object could not be found."Searching on google leads to articles about the offline address book (which is a feature i don't even use), but even though i do exactly as the guides says, i still have the problem. Have tried recreating the offline address book, and have also disabled syncing of the address book in Outlook 2003.

Does anyone know what is causing this error?

And is there something i should be aware of when transfering to the new server, the way i did?

I just installed Outlook XP on a 2000 Server box. When trying to setup the first mail account I get this error:

Outlook could not log on. Check to make sure you are connected to the network and are using the proper server name and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange Address Book was unable to log on to the Microsoft Exhange Server computer. Contact your system administrator if the problem persists.

Other boxes and new installs are working fine. I can gain access through OWA. I can ping and fileshare from both the client and the exchange server. I tried it as servername and servername.domain.com. I've done restarts and updates for both the OS and Outlook on the client and reinstalled Outlook once. There are no errors in either machines event logs.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Our mail server recently crashed. We set up a new server (NT Server 4.0, MS Exchange 5.5, Service Pack 3). The setup went fine. But then we tried to recover the files we backed up and we had trouble starting some of the MS Exchange services. The MTA service wouldn't start until we went into the registry and fixed the organization name so that it matched the name previously given it. Now we can't start the following service with this error: "Could not start the Microsoft Exchange Event Service service on Mail. Error 2140: An internal Windows NT error occured." According to the Event Viewer, this service starts succussfully, but then the following error occurs: "An unexpected MAPI error occurred. Error returned was [0x80004005]" The event viewer then says the MS Exchange Event Service succussfully stopped. Any ideas on what's going on?Dennis Baker
