After I installed Office 2007 Beta 2 - without installing the Outlook
component - my Outlook 2003 junk mail filter ceased to work. Everything
else in Outlook 2003 seems to work just fine, I changed no settings,
I've tried rebooting / restarting multiple times over many days, and I
have the most recent updates for Outlook 2003.

Can anyone suggest a possible fix - one that doesn't involve
uninstalling and/or reinstalling everything?

Thanks,
Mike

Office update centre indicated that the recent update for Microsoft Oulook 2003 Junk Mail Filter(KB2279246) failed.

Fixit advised that update 983503 must be removed from add and remove programs but I could not find it.

I have a problem in Outlook now with an Internet Explorer Script Error on line 325 PAr 1 with the message "Library not registered cold 0 URL outlook:today"

I last fixed the latter by running a repair for Microsoft pro applications but I am now blocked as it complains that there is an incomplete update outstanding.

Looks like a catch 33 situation (not 22)

I add senders that end up in my Junk Mail, as Safe senders but they still go
into the Junk Mail box. Email addresses that I send too and have marked as
safe still end up there too. What am I doing wrong?

I have recently switched from Express to Outlook 2003. The Junk mail
filtering is confusing, is there a way that items marked as junk mail and
the blocked senders list be deleted instead of moving them to the Junk Mail
folder? The option to delete the junk mail in the options section just
decides it's junk and deletes it as I see the option. Right now I have many
addresses in the blocked list but they seem to get moved to the junk folder
anyway, I just want those deleted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all,

my Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter stopped working.

After doing a few researches, I found out that it could be caused by the
Expression Web Trial I tried to install without success.

Is there a way to restore Outlook junk mail filtering functionalities?

I tried the:

Uninstall of the last *few* junk mail updates.

Set the filtering to none and back to high.

Office "Detect and repair".

The outlook spy.

All help is highly appreciated.

Thanks In advance

Pierluigi

I just installed Outlook 2003 as part of MS Office 2003 on my new Windows
Vista laptop. It has all the necessary updates installed from Microsoft.

The junk mail filter is not working. All of my obvious junk mail goes
directly into the in box and not into the junk mail filter.

I went to junk mail options on Outlook and it is set to high. I tried
setting it to low and it made no difference. I set it back to high and it is
still not working.

I have no junk mail rules, etc. It is vanilla Outlook. Changing the
settings seems to make no difference.

Any suggestions on how to do this? My frustration level is skyrocketing!

Thanks.

Steve

I'm running Outlook 2003 under Vista Ultimate. I recently did a clean
install of Vista and then Outlook, but now the Junk Mail filter isn't
sending anything into the Junk Mail folder -- it's all flowing into the
Inbox. I have it set to "High" under the Tools/Options/Junk E-mail Options
menu, but nothing is diverted. Is there something I am overlooking?

Hello - Installed Update for MS Office 2003 Junk Mail Filter (KB981432) Dated
4-12-2010 sends ALL mail, junk and non junk mail to my Inbox.

I fixed the problem by Uninstalling this update. The filtering process is
restored.

However, I am looking for a way to accept MS Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter
updates in a way that does not eliminate the ability of Outlook to filter my
mail.

I'm running Vista Home Premium, Norton Internet Security & Godzilla Spam
blocker.

Short of upgrading to Outlook 1007, any ideas?

Thanks

I'm running WINDOWS XP Home w/ SP2 and all necessary Office updates for 2000
& 2003, and MICROSOFT DEFENDER BETA 2.

The JUNK MAIL FILTER UPDATE for February 2006 will not go into place. I am
being required to shut off my machine every time for the update to take
place, but it doesn't seem to go into place.

What is wrong with this picture?

When adding an e-mail address or domain name into my Outlook 2003 junk mail Blocked Senders List, may I use wildcard characters?  For instance, anon! or @fake.*? If so, which?

Each time my automatic updates are done I am getting a message " Updates were
unable to be successfully installed"
It advises that update for Outlook 2003 junk Email filter (KB925254) was
unable to be installed.

Can anyone advise why this would be?

I have given up on Outlooks junk mail filter and have installed a third part
filter. I would like to stop completely Outlook 2003 junk mail filter. I have
selected not to filter mail but the folder still grabs a piece of mail no and
again. How can I turn off or uninstall the filter?

I just dl,ed KB932330 the update to Outlook 2003 junk mail. It will not
install in any of my 3 winxp sp2 pro machines. As a result it leaves the
yellow shield in the system tray.

Ideas?

Windows Update keeps telling me to install the urgent update "Update for

fails.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour and have a solution.

I just updated to Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB936643). I
restarted the computer and the new version came up. I have lost some
folders, all of my recent emails that I have not deleted yet. Also, some old
emails that I had deleted a long time ago came up. They all seem to be dated
January 2005. Does anyone know how I can retrieve my emails?

Thank you!!!

Hi all,
Recently I have been getting a daily automatic update notification for the
Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB916521). Each time I try to install it I
get an error message saying "The following updates wre not installed: Update
for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB916521)". All other updates install
fine, except for this one. I am running Office 2003 Professional edition, SP2
under Windows XP Pro SP2. I don't know if this makes any difference, but I've
also got the McAfee Spamkiller add-on installed with Outlook. Has anyone else
had a problem with this update or knows how I can install it?
Thanks,

Dave.

The Outlook 2007 Junk Mail filter tries to protect me by disabling
links and HTML content.

So to review a junk mail, I have first to move it to the in-box.

Is there an easy way to turn this provision off, so that items in the
junk mail folder would by default appear in their normal state?

Gurus,

My company has a Spam Firewall. However, some spam does get through,
particularly to HR mailboxes with easy to guess names such as
resumes@company.com and hr@company.com. hat should my approach be to
filtering out spam sent to these mailboxes? Should I focus more in stopping
it at the Spam Firewall or more at teaching the user how to use the built-in
Outlook 2007 junk mail filters?

Hi!

At a moment's notice Outlook 2003 (fully patched) running on WindowXP (fully
patched) which is configured to use IMAP4 stopped filtering junk mails. Is
there a way to "initialize" the Junk Mail component so it will work again

Thanx in advance
Martin

I am hoping someone here can help me. I am a very new Exchange analyst looking for a solution to an issue where Outlook's junk mail filter is no longer working. Junk email is being delivered directly into user's Inboxes despite having the junk email addresses in the blocked senders list in Outlook. This is a relatively new issue where the junk mail filter has always seemed to work before. We recently implemented Forefront Protection for Exchange 2010. This is the only major thing that has changed. I have confirmed the blocked addresses are not also listed in the allowed senders list. Also, deleting and re-adding the addresses does not help. Neither does clicking block sender in the actual email. We are on Exchange 2007. Please let me know if I can provide further information. Thanks for looking.
