Outlook 2007 "Outlook has stopped working"

I have been having a problem for a number of months and it has just gotten to the point that it is annoying now!  When I start Outlook, the program loads and downloads whatever email messages I have from a number of different sources.  I am not sure if it is a timing thing, but I can view a few emails, but as soon as I reply to one - meaning creating a response and hitting send, the email disappears and the "Outlook has stopped working" message appears and then, after a minute or so, says "Outlook is restarting".  When the program comes back up, the message has been sent - at least it appears it has been sent - and I can go on working.  However, I really shouldn't have to put up with this...the program should work.

I have already gone in and removed all the addins except for the Hotmail addin.  Everything else has been disabled and removed.  Not sure what else to do.  I do not want to re-install - that seems to be the answer for everything - I just want this to work.

I have a Thinkpad T60, Windows 7, a core 2 processor, 2gb of memory.

Looking at the task manager while this is going on, there is plenty of memory and the hard disk is not even close to being full (about 25% used space).

Ideas?

Hi, running outlook Enterprise 2007 on Vista Home Premium (X64), this error
message (Outlook 2007 has stopped working) happened before install of Vista
SP2 and after (I was hoping the update might fix, but alas). I can get into
outlook, everything is fine till I type in my password to connect to exchange
(hosted through intermedia.net). I have the same configuration on 2 other
machines (to the same account). One machine running XP with Outlook 2003,
another machine runnning Vista Ultimate (X64) and Outlook 2007 enterprise,
and I have no problems. I get intermittent messages about having bad
add-ins, which I then disable and remove, but even after removing all
add-ins, I still get the same error message (Outlook has stopped working) as
soon as I try connecting to exchange. I uninstalled Outlook, rebooted, and
reinstalled yesterday, replacing the PST, but to no avail. I have also
scanned for errors from another office program, repaired the PST file,
removed all add-ins, etc. I am down to reformatting unless someone else here
has an idea? Below is the Error message from Event Viewer

The search engine within Outlook 2007 has stopped working and I am no longer able to search for any emails within my mail boxes.

I recently tried to index my files through 'Indexing Options' in Control Panel and Rebuild my settings, as advised ina previous post.

However, this has not worked.

Is there anything I can do to get this function working again?

Please help.
Office Outlook 2007 shuts down by itself. It shows the message "Outlook has
stopped working" after launching it 1 minute.

I have restarted the program many times and also restarted my laptop but the
problem persists.

This Office Professional suite was installed in Sept. Initially I had a
Home/ Student trial version. I uninstalled the trial version this morning but
it shouldnt affect Outlook since it didnt have Outlook. The Word & Excel
programs are working ok.

I have used Outlook express and never had such a problem in my old laptop.

My specs are new, w new 2GB Kingston Ram.
HP TX1000 notebook, AMD Turion 64x2, 32bit OS

My desktop running Vista Utimate and Outlook 2007 decided to stop working
about 4 days ago. No matter what I do it launches and abotu 10-15 sec later
crashes with "Outlook has stopped working" and closes. I can launch Outlook
in Safe Mode and it loads fine. Here is what I have done to diagnose this
far.

1. Verified latest updates applied.
2. Ran Diagnose and Repair.
3. Created new profile.
4. Deleted pst files in C:UsersAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook
and SRS files in C:UsersTony MassingAppDataRoamingMicrosoftOutlook,
created a new profile.
5. Uninstalled Office 2007, deleted all profiles in registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows
Messaging SubsystemProfiles, deleted pst files in
C:UsersAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook and SRS files in
C:UsersTony MassingAppDataRoamingMicrosoftOutlook, Reinstalled Office
2007, created a new profile.
6. Tried Repair Outlook from install DVD.

I am operating Outlook 2007 without a new Office program and with Vista
Business. Every time I close the program I get a message that Microsoft
Outlook has stopped working and it tries to find a solution which it can't.

Any ideas?

Occassionally when shuting down Outlook 2007 I'll get an error
message..."Outlook encountered a proble and has stopped working....Looking
for a solution to the problem"....(or similar words). Outlook closes...then
immediately re-opens. Outlook is running fine except for this occassional
Shut problem described.

Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have a reason why this happens?
Anyone have the Solution?

When I start Outlook 2007 it opens and starts downloading email messages but
a few seconds later it displays a message that it has stopped working.
There are two options then: Check online for a solution and close the
program. Clicking on the first options closed Outlook and restarts it and
the same two options appear.
I have Vista Home Premium with SP2

I have been running Outlook 2007 reasonably happily. It suddenly stopped
working and suggests that windows will look for a solution and then to close
the program. When I start the program again it asks if I want to start in
safe mode. I have answered both yes and no - the program still won't restart.

I then tried repairing the program and reinstalling Office 2007 - to no
avail. The other Office Suite programs are working fine - not Outlook.

My Outlook 2007 was doing this also and I fixed it by repairing the ".PST"
files and opening a fresh account with a different location. Well, it worked
fine for several days and now it is doing the "stopped working" message
again. I do not know why or what to do next. Should I delete the old account
and just have the new one I created? Thank you to anyone who can help.

Everything was working fine for a few days but now everytime I log on to
Outlook it stops working and closes. As far as I can see, I dont have
Cloudmark, so that's not the issue. I cant open in safe mode without the same
thing happening either. Running Office Enterprise on Vista Home Premium.

any ideas?

Lenova notebook, Vista Business, Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003.

Everything was great for 6 months, 2 weeks ago client could not attach files
from network drives. Error was MS Word has stopped working. Within Outlook
2003 could not change anything under Tools, Options, Mail Format without it
crashing.

Found article about Stationary, had to disable Stationary using Regedit (Sue
Moshey paper). Seemed to solve network drive problem but still could not set
or change anything within Outlook, Tools, Options, Mail Format, i.e., cannot
change HTML to RTF, no signature, nada.

Tried every imaginable Outlook command line option, /safe /firstrun /profile.

Tried new Outlook Profile, Windows User Profile, joined domain, No
Exchange.. only PST.

Uninstalled Word, next tried Outlook, reinstalled both, uninstalled all of
MS Office. Reinstalled to different folder (custom install), applied SP3.

No problem sending or receiving... can't attach any files, can't use
signatures...

Current error is "Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working. A problem
caused the program to stop working correctly."

Only relevant fix I have found was on Experts-Exchange, reformat and
reinstall Vista. Is this it?

Outlook 2007 has stopped working since I installed IE8 beta 2

I start OL2007 - the "blank" screen and splash are displayed along with a
Windows Installer dialogue box with the text "Preparing to install...". I
gave it half an hour it just sits there, I killed OL and rebooted, OL asked
if I wanted to start in Safe Mode I responded in the affirmative but the
Windows Installer window is still there.

Neither Task Manager, Process Explorer nor System Explorer show a Task or
Process for an installer.

The Windows Installer window is owned by the Outlook 2007 process, its class
name is #32770 (I think all modal dialogs are 32770's), the OL process also
owns an msoSplash and an rctrl_renwnd32 window.

What should I do? Uninstall IE 8 Beta 2 and go back to Beta 1 - that could
be another can of worms. Reinstall OL2007? Other ?

I am running office xp pro on vista home premium and now get the error
"outlook has stopped working" When I click 'check online for a solution' it
wants me to upgrade to a newer version. It then closes outlook and will not
start. I don't want to upgrade. Any suggestions on how to get outlook to
run without upgrading?

I have been happily using Outlook 2007 on Win XP for ages, then suddenly
yesterday it no longer opens.

Well it tries to open, and it opens up to a point, I can see my mail, but
nothing in the preview pane, and nothing (including Outlook itself) is
clickable - the mouse actually disappears when I scroll over it. I have tried
opening with numerous switches, including the one that disables the preview
pane, but all still lead to the same thing.

I have used scanpst to repair my pst file, Outlook seems to be opening it
fine, I can see my folders on the left, and how many emails I have etc - I
just can't access anything in Outlook!

I have even repaired Outlook from the Office CD, it just won't open! Well
not enough so as I can use it!

When it opens, it shows me yesterdays emails listed in the inbox, but the
preview pane is blank - I can see all the folders etc but when I move my
mouse over Outlook, it disappears and therefore nothing is selectable. It
does not respond to keystrokes either, I tried ALT-F for File menu etc - no
effect.

I have tried using ALT-TAB to definately select Outlook in Windows, but
still the mouse disappears (almost seems like the mouse disappears behind it)

It does nothing from that point on. I have tried leaving it a few mins to
let it connect and get mail from my pop servers, but it does nothing. Just
sits there - no new mail, no nothing, it's not even going through the motions.

All of a sudden, Outlook 2007 has stopped working. I get a msg that the
program will close and I will be notified if a solution is available. I have
reinstalled Office 2007, tried to restore Vista to a prior date all to no
avail. Vista says a error in the system will not allow a restore. All other
programs seem to be working normally.
HELP!!

Please help !!

My outlook 2007 has stopped working for some reason. When launched,
it opens up the outlook screen, then the ms outlook /exchange plug in
box appears. At this point everything stops and when i try to close
it down i am given the message "outlook not responding"

i have uninstalled and reinstalled outlook twice and this has not
fixed the problem. i have also set up a new profile on two ocassions
and this has not helped. to top it off, i have reverted back to using
outlook express for the time being until i get the problem fixed, and
for some reason the default language on this is French and there is no
option to change it or should i say no other languages are listed.

If anyone can help with this it would be very very much appreciated

Thanks
