I just tried emailing a note to someone and when they tried to open it, they got a message "This attachment is a MAPI 1.0 embedded message and is not supported by this mail system."

What exactly is the point of having a Notes feature when they cannot be emailed to anyone that doesn't have Outlook?
I was using another PIM - EssentialPIM - which also had a Notes feature and which had no problem emailing Notes that opened in other email apps.

Why can't Outlook do this?

Our server is running Exchange 2003, and since yesterday, I am getting reports of people having trouble sending e-mail to users on our system.  Here are the two NDR messages that I have received so far:

#1
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 552-'Requested mail action aborted: exceeded storage allocation' (delivery attempts: 0)

#2
The e-mail address could not be found. Perhaps the recipient moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the address. Check the address and try again.

A few points: first, I have no storage limitation rules in place.  The mailbox that was attempting to be sent to for #1 is receiving hundreds of e-mails successfully each day, so there is no problem with the mailbox store in terms of a storage allocation limit; secondly, the address that is being sent to in #2 is working and also receiving many e-mails per day.

I am able to send and receive e-mail messages with users on the same system as the person who sent message #1.  For message #2, it is intermittent but usually does not go through (two went through out of a total of 10 attempts, for example).

I have researched this issue online and found a few Microsoft Knowledge Base articles that have so far proven unhelpful.  The only consistency between the two NDR messages is the error code 5.1.0, but it makes no sense because the problems are not widespread.

Does anyone have any insight at all?  I'm stumped.

I am developing a C# 2.0 application using CDO 1.21 library For retrieving mails from the exchange server 2007.Which is locate in a distant machine. I am able to send and receive mails with this exchange server. But when I used CDO 1.21 library to create a session I am getting error the "information store could not be opened. [MAPI 1.0 - [MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED(80040111)]]".My exchange server is running always
 String Profile="255.245.235"+"n"+"NewUser1"; //IP address of the distant machine exchange is kept

            MAPI.SessionClass SeesionObject=new SessionClass();
            SeesionObject.Logon("UserAdministrator", "AdministratorPasswrd", false, true, 0, true, Profile.ToString());

The third line of the above statement at the run time throwing the above Exception.

When I transferred this application to the exchange server it is pulling all the mails for a particular mailbox the problem is happening only when i am trying to get the mails from a remote system.

Can someone help me?

Hi

We have exchange server 2003 and ISS server version 5.00

I am developing small web base email application using CDO (1.21) and
language I used is vb.net

Currently my web application is hosted in my local ISS but exchange server
is in different server.

I have set my virtual directory authentication mode to integrated windows
authentication.

Web application is hosted in my local PC so that when I access the site I
can see the emails, but some one access from their PC, CDO not allowing to
access emails and gives following error.

The information store could not be opened. [MAPI 1.0 -
[MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED(80040111)]]

This is my coding
=================

Dim objEmail As New MAPI.Session
Dim objFolder As MAPI.Folder
Dim objMessages As MAPI.Messages
Dim objMember As MAPI.Message
Dim obja As MAPI.Session
Dim i As Integer

Dim objOtherFolder As Object

End While

strProfileInfo = "LSEXC01.unitedclearing.com" & vbLf & strUser

objEmail = New MAPI.Session

Hello,

We have setup our first Exchange 2003 server, in a an Exchange 5.5 org, and sent a test email to all of our mailboxes to see if everything was ok from the Exchange 2003 server. However, 144 mailboxes returned a 5.4.6 NDR and several returned a 5.1.0 NDR message. Does anyone know how to resolve this? As usual my boss wants Exchange 2003 setup company wide yesterday, so any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Ste

Wonder if anyone can help with this.

Installed OWA on a Exchange 5.5 server. The administrator can log into it no problems, but the users cant 0 with:
Failed to Get Inbox.
The information store couldnt be opened [MAPI 1.0 - [MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED(80040111)]]
/exchange/USA/logonFrm.asp

I have given the users the "log on Locally" right, even tested it with logging onto the server with it.

Any help greatly appreciated

Martin

Hello,

Need more help,

A buddy of mine is helping me to trouble shoot my OWA and he is getting an error message of http 1.0 401 Unauthorized.

I've had him try http://ip address/exchange also http://servername.websitename.net/exchange and http://servername/exchange with no luck all return with the same message.

when I do it either way listed above from the lan I get a prompt for log in and it then drops me into my mailbox (using http://servername/exchange drops me right into my mailbox).  I'm using a d-link router/firewall with port 80 open.  I'm trying to do this with out SSL since I don't have enough knowledge yet on how to easily create a certificate for SSL.

Any ideas why buddy is getting this?

Thanks in advance

I use Outlook 2000, when I try to open it, I get the following message:
The MAPI Spooler could not be started. Close and then restart all
mail-enabled applications. MAPI 1.0 (000004C7).
What do I need to do?

I am running Exchange 2003 SP1 on Win Svr 2003. Single Exchange server only.

I have a Mailbox Management process scheduled to run weekly, it's sole purpose is to delete the contents of the Deleted Items folder. For no apparent reason, the last couple weeks the process logs and error and won't delete the items. The event log error:

Event ID: 9175
Source: MSExchangeSA
Category: MAPI session
The MAPI call "OpenMsgStore" failed with the following error: The information store could not be opened. The logon to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer failed. MAPI 1.0. ID no: 80040111-0286-00000000

I reviewed EventID.net, didn't see anything that made sense. The stores are mounted. I ran an ESEUTIL /g on Priv & Pub, they both passed.

I have no other issues with Exchange, everything is working including OWA.

Anyone have any ideas?

There's also an event 9200 that appears at the same time.

Error 5.1.0 received on a bounced email to a known working email account, sent from an Outlook 2003 client. Emails between these clients previously worked but started failing today. The bounce message reads:

"The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
/Cn=OMPANY/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE [...]"

The first digit of the Cn term is missing.

Workaround: enter the fully qualified address e.g. destinationAccount@company.local

I tried deleting and rebuilding the email account on the client, ran a repair of the Office 2003 install, and found/fixed unusual settings in the destination account in the directory. No change.

TIA - beefs

Greetings,

I'm trying to remove a stuck message from a user's INBOX using the MFCMapi tool which I've done numerous times before. Today however, I cannot get MFCMapi to logon. I am running MFCMapi on the Exchange server as Administrator and logging in using the very same MAPI Profile that I have used successfully in the past. Now whenever I try to login I get the following error dialogs:

"The MAPI spooler could not be started. Close and then restart all mail-enabled applications.
MAPI 1.0 [000004C7]"

"Error:
Code: MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED == 0x80004005
Function ::MAPILogonEx( (ULONG_PTR)hwnd, szProfileName, 0, ulFlags, &m_lpMAPISession)
File f:df7830extestsrcmfcmapimapiobjects.cpp
Line 306"

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this situation and is there any known remedy other than restarting the Exchange server entirely?

Thanks,

Brandon
