In send/receive password comes up (this is new)...Found password (verified
with password recovery). Password is correct in right case but it is not
accepting it.
I have tested it on web based email and I am definitely using the correct

Has anyone seen where 1 account can get their mail using POP3 through a Proxy server (SP1) to an Exchange 5.5 (SP4) (separate boxes) but another account can't.
Ex. FLast@mydomain.com can get their mail using OE from home. NT account FiLast password password.
But First.Last@mydomain.com can't. NT account FLast password password. It will not accept the password. Error says the password is incorrect or mailbbox not found.
Everything is the same between these two accounts except the SMTP address. I wonder if the "." throws things wacky.
Samething with OWA to MS Proxy Server which redirects to Exchange 5.5 box. The user can get the Logon screen & NT CR appears but it will not accept the password. Yet when you do this inside the proxy it works fine.
HMMM...
Please help.

We have recently changed the location of our user accounts to another server
due to a space issue. The .pst have also been moved with them. However now
the users who's home directory (including their profile and .pst file) have
been copied across keep getting a password request whenever they open
Outlook. We have put in the correct password (I set up the email accounts so
I know the passwords), but it will not accept it. I have tried deleting that
Outlook account and creating a new one, with the same problem. The correct
..pst file has been found and no permission changes have been made to the
staff folders.

I have already spent 1.5 days trying to solve this issue and now desperately
need help.

Dear Friends,

I need your help for the OWA Login Problem, I have setup a complete Active directory 2003 setup with exchange 2003. I have one enterprise root domain and one tree domain in enterprise root. I have run forest prep in enterprise and domain prep in tree domain and installed Exchange 2003 server in domain tree. My exchange server is working fine with MS outlook clients, but when accessing OWA it asked for password but does not accept the password and reprompt for password. Right now I have not implemented any front end server, I have only one exchage server running in my network. Please help me out to resolve this OWA login issue.

We have 2 users running different versions of Outlook and connecting to
Exchange 2003 over VPN. When they first connect they are prompted to log on
and do so successfully, and can view all mail in the Inbox. When they try
to
open any mail they are prompted once again for the password but this time
the
password is not accepted, despite repeated attempts to enter it. Both can
open mail if connected directly to the network (not using VPN), and we have
many other users who connect successfully over VPN. Indeed these two had no
problem up until about a week ago. Has anyone experienced a similar
problem,
and do you have a solution?AlistairB

Hello

I am facing one very strange problem since last night. My PC was shutdown unexpectidly and thus I had restart it manually. The outllok 2007 was connected by that time with Exchange Server2007. Since restart of PC whenever I am opening the outlook, it is not accepting the password i.e. the password window is poping up and when I am entering the password it again and again asks for the password. If I cancel this window than outlook is also gets closed. I am connecting to the Exchange server via Outlook anywhere feature.
Just to verify the password, I logged in via OWA which is working fine. Thus it seems to be local PC issue with Outlook. Can someone help me in this matter.
Thanks in advance for help.

starting around sept 1st when ever i tried to log into outlook I get a logon
prompt box. Internet E-mail - MSN 'please enter your user name and password
for the following server' then shows server and "username" Password" I have
put in the correct password and it will not accept it.
I have 2003 office pro edition I have tried resetting, deleting my email
account and reentering it, checking chk reg edit, even tried to remove
outlook and reinstall. nothing works.
I have to bypass outlook and go to msn directly to access my email. its an
msn account on an msn system using msn programs .... that might be the
problem..

Dear Sir,

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 in Windows XP. I access my e-mails through
an Exchange Server. All my e-mails were being saved in
"Personal Folders(1).pst" file. My Windows was corrupted so i have to
re-install it. After that, i tried to access my previous e-mails by loading
this .pst file. Everytime, when i try to load it, it shows error message that
the password is incorrect. I am sure that the password is correct but Outlook
is not accesting it.

Can you tell, why it is not accepting my password ?

Can you guide me, how can i skip this step of authentication ? i.e. how can
i disable the password while loading the *.pst file.

This is my official e-mail and i am very much worried about it.

Hi there,

When I try to send/recieve my gmail acct from outlook, it asks me for my
network password, which I enter correctly and it just keeps flashing the box
back up at me and not accepting my correct password. When I hit cancel, it
gives me this error message.

Task 'pop.gmail.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail
server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your
account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server
responded: -ERR [AUTH] Username and password not accepted.'

Can anyone help me?

In the evening of 7th December 2010 I found I could not access my email account via Outlook 2007. I have a gmail account as well as a yahoo account and both of them had been compromised. I could not use my passwords to access my emails.

I have now managed to access my accounts through security checks to enable me to change my passwords, but my problem now is in Outlook 2007.

I have setup the gmail account to be recieved into Outlook as POP. This I had before my account was compromised. I now find that a window entitled: "Enter Network Password" appears asking me to insert my password. I do this but it is not accepted and the window keeps reappearing. I have checked my settings and all is correct but what I have noticed is I am able to send but not recieve as shown on the Outlook Progress window. Has another password been embedded in Outlook which is preventing me from entering my new one? If this is the case can anyone advise me what to do to clear this problem.

When I try to open facebook or linkden in socail connector it will not accept my user name or password

Hello,

I create a new account and follow all directions by filling out all the
spaces concerning user name, email address etc. I input the password but I
take the check mark to prevent from remembering the password. I have always
done it like that... this time it does not work. My system is XP with SP2 and
Office 2003 with SP3

TIA

Hello everybody, I'm hoping that you guys will be able to give me a hand with a problem that's been causing me to beat my head against the wall for the past week.
I apologize it this topic already exists, but I was unable to find anything relating to this specifically.

I just started a new administrative position about 2 weeks ago. The first thing that I did was get rid of roaming profiels and create a Group Policy for Folder Redirection. That's it, nothing else. Everything was working fine. Two days later I come in to find that Outlook, both 2003 and 2007, are prompting user's for a password. They put in their domain credentials, the login box flickers and pops right back. However, when I put in my credntials as a Domain Admin, (I tested this with another Domain admin account), it will allow them to connect their mailbox.

I have tried everything I could possibly think of after repeated google searches of this issue, leading me back to a couple of different KB's that I have tried and failed. I have even created a new server, a new administrative group, and new routing group, and attempted to move a user's mailbox there to see if the default permissions would allow a user in. I have done everything short of converting everyone's mailbox to .pst and deleting the entire organization. I really don't even know where to go from here.

All user's have full permissions to their mailbox, as well as SELF, Exchange Admins, and SYSTEM.

At first I thought it could possibly be a revoked certificate on the server, but the previous administrator, amoung screwing up a lot of other things, never installed one. That was going to be my next step, installing and issuing a certificate to the server, but I thought I would make a stop here first.

This is highly frustrating issue and any help that you guys could provide would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have exchange 2007

OWA works

client in local lan works

when I go outside or users go outside (even me) my locol outlook 2007 client ask for password to many users, correct cradentials yes but does not accept

one thought is our godaddy cert expired and we renewed and since this is when has started, futhremore I really cannot tell what certs are being used on exchange, i have read a lot and can view them using the exchange consul but am not going to delete the old ones until i understand in depth which ones are bing used, it seems the correct ones are being used but still outlook does not accept passwords .. one thing i thought from reading is even though i have new cert I have to inforce it ? or restrat it or something .. meaning a command that states use the thumbprint for IIS ..

Anyway please help the users are not happy :|

thank you

I have installed an SSL Certificate on our new Exchange 2003, but when trying to access the OWA from a browser outside of the network although it will display the Login window, it will not accept the credentials even though they are correct and after 3 attepts it will display a page saying 'Error: Access Denied.

If the same URL is used inside the network it works fine and the webmail page is displayed.

I have set the Certificate to Basic Authentication.

What else do I need to do to get it to work from outside the network.
