Hi all,
I have just migrated my poor NT domain to AD, and exchange 5.5 to exchange
2003. I did like that ;
- I have installed win 2003 AD with a new domain name and created trust with
NT 4.0 domain
- moved user accounts using ADMT ( not all users only head offie users )
-moved users mailboxes ( not all users only head offie users )
I dindt want to move all users with one day operation causing some special
needs, and also it was seemed to me doing step by step would be better.I was
wrong !
my branch office users were using ( still they can use without any problem)
pop3 and smtp while head office users using MAPI.Actually branch office users
only have mailboxes in head office, they have their own domain without any
trust with head office domain. They had user accounts in head office NT but it
wasnt related any service except mail. And the last thing, i upgraded my
users email client outlook 2000 to 0utlook 2003.
result ;
After migration I had 2 exchange server within a site ( in same echange
organization) and had one trusted domain ( AD win2003 and NT 4.0 )
And then my problem was occured.
Some of my clients were complaining that they disconnected from outlook
2003,and they got logon screen which is asking domain username and
password.I tried to relogon using their account name and password, but it
didnt work. When i restart outlook 2003 it was connecting without any
problem. The re-logon screen was sending sometimes by exchange 5.5 server,
sometimes by exchange 2003 server. Both server also domain controllers. It was
happining random. Some clients see this logon screen very often, some clinents
see the first day after migration and see second time after 2-3 days.I almost
checked and done everything with my knowledge but didnt fing a solution.(
Checked server side and client side )
If anybody knows something about this problem and help me, i will pray for
that lucky guy till i die.I promise.

Kind Regards,

After installing the Beta 2 version of 0utlook 2007, on launching, the app
goes through a configuration routine and fails each time after it gets to
'importing user settings', indicating that 'Business Contact Manager
encounterd a problem and needs to close'. Since the 2007 installation wiped
out the Outlook 2003 version, I am without any Outlook. I use Business
Contact Manager in Outlook 2003.

Can anyone give me advice on either correcting the problem in 2007, or
reinstalling 2003

Thanks and Regards

Hi, does anyone know where is address book application for 0utlook 2007
stored? I would like to be able to look at my contacts without having
to run outlook sometimes.
Cheers

Hi,

Here's what I have done so far...

1. Complete backup from one PC running outlook 2003 into a PST file.
2. Burned to disc (700 MB)
3. Imported into new PC running outlook 2007 - imported folders but not
contents
4. Went to personal folders and selected (open Outlook File) - again,
imported folders but not contents

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Is it the export or the import that I'm
screwing up.

Thanks,
Matt

It only happens to two computers that have the Vista OS. Using 0utlook 2003
as an email client. When ever receiving an email from a thunderbird client
it show this:

To "fix" issues around JavaScript the infamous Microsoft
approach seems to apply with certain users/clients.
Switch JavaScript off
and it will not bother you anymore ... wrong approach in my humble opinion,
but well we have to deal with it when your page relies on JavaScript.

So how can we "catch" JavaScript-disabled-clients?

What can I do to fix this? Any help is appreciated.

I am purchasing the Office Home and Student 2007 software and want to keep my
Outlook 2003 from my previous Home and Student 2003 edition for my email. I
am running Windows XP Home Edition. I have heard that there are problems
running Outlook 2003 and Office 2007 together. Is there some way I can do
this?
I have searched. but not found any clear answers.

I have 0utlook 2003 installed as well as Office Home and Student 2007.

Whenever I receive an email a Windows Installer pop up appears with the
message

"Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Home and Student 2007 "

If I cancel this operation (because I've already let it run many times
before) the email will disappear from my inbox and from Outlook 2003
entirely. Not in the deleted mail items and not on my POP sever. Erased
completely.

All systems are up to date and this appears to begaun happening after a
recent round of Hotfixes.

This happens for both XP and Vista 64bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My outlook 2003 randomly re-downloads my emails for my two pop/smtp accounts.
I would like to leave the emails on the server because sometimes I don't have
access to my outlook, but i do the web email through our cable internet
service. I currently have 4 or 5 copies of emails including ones that I have
deleted. How can I get Outlook to stop downloading these. I'm using XP Pro
with SP2 and Office Pro 2003 with SP3.

Hi,

I am using Outlook IMAP (0utlook 2003) on my desktop computer and on my
notebook. On both text-Format is default for new emails. Copies of all sent
mails are moved via Outlook-rule to a "IMAP-sent-Mail" folder, that I have
created. Following problem: The format of the mail copy is (correctly) "text"
on the computer from where I sent the email, but is "html" on the other
computer (since a copy is stored in IMAP, I have access to sent mails from
the other computer). What do I have to do to keep a "text-only copy" in IMAP,
that will not change to html?

Thanks for a solution
Michael

Installed 0utlook 2003 in my new Vista 64bit system. When opening first time
I get following message:
"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Create a new profile by
double-clicking the Mail Icon in Control Panel, clidking Show Profiles, and
then clicking Add. After creating new profile, make it your default by
selecting it, and then clicking Always use this profile."
When I click ok, Outlook closes, but when I go to Control Panel, there is no
Mail Icon, either in classic or new views.

Any ideas? Thanks

Can you point me in the direction of code for the 2007 version...and would
that code fix the following problem?

When I copy my contacts from one folder to another they seem to display fine
according to my settings (Last name, First name) however the moment I leave
that folder and return to it, the contacts are all displaying as First name
Last name...I am working with around 400+ contacts so far and increasing. I
cannot possibly change them one-by-one and apparently, even if I did, they'd
most likely revert to whatever Outlook thinks is best. VERY ANNOYING!

Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

You would have to run code to do that and we don't even know your Outlook

Is there a way to change a whole contact list at one time to-
file as "company then contact name"
I do not know why but my contact list keeps reverting to " file as:
First
then last name " and I need it to file by company first. I have
manually
changed each one to file as: company then name several times It would
helpIf
there was a way to change them all at one time. I have gone into
options
and
set it for a company first preference but tis does not make any
changes.

Running 0utlook 07 on a 64 Vista Acer laptop. All was well until I tried to
set up access via local wireless home network and apparently altered
permissions on the Outlook.pst file. Could not start program on laptop - got
'cannot open default email folders'. Accessed folder options and reset to
allow administrator (not inherited) full access on the Outlook.pst file.
Still no success. Created new profile using command line "outlook.exe
/promptimportprf localfolderoutlook.prf" in run creating file
Outlook1.pst. Now can start Outlook in new profile; but attempting to ADD
access to the old file using DATA FILE MANAGEMENT in File pulldown. Result:
The file c:/user/Acer/Appdata/local/microsoft/Outlook/outlook.pst cannot be
opened. UGH! Ideas please?

I imported my contacts into outlook 07 from outlook 00 and all showed up
fine. The probelm I am having is when I am typing an email and click to to
choose an address I see all my contact folders that I set up as different
groups and when I click on my "frends" group folder it shows all the names
but the email address does not show up next to it. If I export the fiel to a
csv I can see all the email addresses in there proper columns and they all
show a display as entry. I am very confused with why the email address is not
populating in the address book. Please help!!

appointment are printed out of the sheet. This was not a issue in 2003 version.

Is this a bug in the software?

What is up with this code. It seems to be known all around the net, but cant seem to get it to work or email to download. Can send mail but nothing will download.

Error code: 0x80040154

can some one tell me the steps to fully backup outlook 07 so that i can do
a complete uninstall / install , and save the emails

When I check the size of my pst files from within 0utlook, they are all
around 700mb. However, when I check them in the actual folder where they are
stored, then the main Personal pst file is over 2GB.

I intentionally created 3 different pst files, so that I could keep their
size down. But why is there this discrepancy in file sizes, and how can I
split the 2GB one to make it smaller?
