Outlook connector repeatedly asking for hotmail paswords

After downloading and installing Outlook connector in order to see
hotmail email account trhough Outlook I had no isses for several weeks.

Recently a problem has started to occur.

Not every time, but once every few times I log into Outlook the Outlook
Connector will ask me for the passwords for my hotmail accounts even though I
have typed them in and asked it to save them.

What's really odd is that it does not always ask for the passwords of all
the hotmail accounts. Sometimes it asks for the password to just one other
times it will ask for all.

Any ideas on why its doing this?

thanks for any help

One account configured on Outlook 2003 sp2 -Exchange 2003 Ent (sp2) on W2K3
Ent SP1 repeatedly asks for password. Even after entering password it wont
log on.User needs to restart & log back into system , then it will work for
15 mins & same issue again.OS is formated still same .

I have Outlook (2007) connector on my laptop (Win 7) to connect to my WindowsLive account.

It functions properly at home providing I uncheck "Use a Proxy Server" in Internet Explorer 8 connection settings. (This proxy is required at work.)

However at work, on loading Outlook, "Microsoft Outlook Connector" repeatedly asks for my password. Having supplied it I then informed that "Sign-in failed. Outlook Connector has encountered an error. Please restart Outlook....".

In Server Status the following is seen:

Hi,
Since a couple of days, Outlook Connector is asking for my password every
time I start Outlook.
That did not happen before :
When I started Outlook, it was looking up and downloading my @hotmail.com
and my @live.com mail messages. Not anymore, I have to give my password for
each account !
It looks like a bug, because I am invited to contact support if this problem
does continue. I do however not know how to contact support.

Can somebody help me with this please ?

I recently bought new Dell Computer, installed broadband and Office XP 2002.
When I use Outlook a window opens asking for user name and password for
hotmail. Although my internet connection is open and I can directly access
hotmail through Internet explorer the same name and password don't seem to
work within Outlook no matter how many times I enter it either in the window
that opens or within Email Accounts

I've set up pop email accounts in Outlook before with out any problems on my
home computer. I've installed all the updates and every time Outlook tries
to connect to my pop email acccounts with yahoo and/or go daddy it repeatedly
asks for username and password. It can retrieve my msn.com mail just fine.

Just in the last few days, Microsoft Office Outlook Connector keeps asking me
to log in constantly? I never had to log in repeatedly before, but in the
last three days, I have had to log in every time I hit Send/Receive.

I use hotmail with my Outlook 2007.

I have a new Blackberry smartphone that gets my email as well. Is that
interfering? I don't even think I can log into Outlook Connector when away
from my desktop, so it might make it impossible to get emails when I am on
the road.

When I log into Outlook Web Access from my domain controller server it works just fine, but when I try to log in from another computer it repeatedly asks for my username, password and domain and never actually lets me in to use Outlook. I don't get any error messages, so I haven't a clue how to fix this. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

-Chris

I just signed up for Hotmail Plus 2 days ago. I am trying to connect my
Hotmail to Outlook 2007 using the Outlook Connector plug-in. It is still
informing me that I need a subscription. I thought I was obtaining a
subscription by signing up for Hotmail Plus. The popup that is displayed
says "Outlook Connector is available only to subscribers. Do you want to
subscribe now?" Clicking yes just opens up the help file. Clicking no just
dismisses the popup. The Connector log file has a bunch of messages similar
to:

"Time: 5/3/2007 7:49:15 AM
Error in Calendar
Outlook Connector is available only to subscribers."

I have recently installed the Outlook Connector plug-in for Outlook 2007.
I am trying this on Vista and I am using Outlook 2007.

When I add my Hotmail Plus account information *without* using the Outlook
Connector, it works just fine. The problem is that it is a normal HTTP
account and the contacts and calendar are not synchronized (because Outlook
Connector is not being used). The problems occur only when I try to use
Outlook Connector.

I have tried the Outlook Connector on a Windows XP machine running Outlook
2003. I saw the same problem. I installed an update that was recommended
(KB904942) and tried again (on the XP machine) and saw the same problem. So,
it appears that the hotfix did not solve the issue even on XP.

Thanks.

I have Out Exspress five. When I try sometimes to access my email it will repeatedly ask for my id and password. I have repeated it several times. What am I doing wrong this is quite agravating?. pljames

When we try to send or receive something from the TOOL option our Outlook
2003 keeps asking for Password and Username and then will stops. Then we have
to start all over again.

I have setup an account to my exchange server 2003 SP2 using outlook 2003
client. I have enable RPC over HTTP.

Everytime i start outlook i get ask for username and password. I do not
have checked the tab for asking username and passwords on the email account
settings on exchange profile for the account on outlook. I´m using
Kerberos/NTLM authentication.

Any ideas on how to correct this situation?

Thanks

Outlook 2007 keeps asking for the Network password on both manual & automatic
send/receive. My system is XP, I am using Office Enterprise 2007 and my
Internet provider is Tiscali.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

I have four different email accounts under Outlook XP (under Vista) and
everytime I open Outlook, I get asked for the password for each. Also, when
I send an email, I get the same thing. Fortunately, I get asked only once
(when opening Outlook). If I close Outlook, and open it again, I get asked
again.

I tried entering the password and checking "Remember Password" in the change
account settings window, but it's not sticking after I close Outlook.

Any ideas on what's causing this.

Our Outlook 2003 keeps asking for Password and User name and then it quits.

Help! I've been all over the net trying to find a fix for this.

I am using Outlook 2002. Windows XP. I have five POP email accounts set
up. One of the accounts repeatedly asks me to enter my username and
password - it will not retain it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? It's driving me crazy!!

Thanks.

Basically, after much trial and error and a bit of helpful suggestions from MS Answers, I was able to upgrade the version of my Outlook Connector and get, at least, my main email program working in Outlook 2007.  However, I am still having problems getting a secondary email account with Hotmail to work with my Outlook 2007 program.

I have all ready deleted the old account setting for my secondary hotmail account and reset or reconfigured it for the new version of the Outlook Connector.  I also added a new account for the secondary account.  And I closed and reopened my Outlook 2007 program.

Now when I attempt to Send/Receive, I only get email from my primary hotmail account, not my secondary hotmail account.  Send/Receive gets stuck on 26%.

My primary hotmail account is working with Outlook 2007.  So, I know I've got things working properly with the new version of the Outlook Connector.  But my secondary hotmail account is not working properly with Outlook 2007.

What do I do now?  Thank you.

Hello.
I have Outlook 2003.
I installed Outlook Connector Beta. It should sync Mail and Contacts
(Calendar for premium users only) with my Live Hotmail account.
Yet, after I entered my details it says sync is only available for premium
users.
It synced my contacts but not the mails.
What's wrong?
Thanks.

I am running Outlook 2007 on XP, having just upgraded from Outlook 2002. So
far I cannot access my email accounts.

Each time I get a "enter network password" for my POP/SMTP accounts and for
my hotmail, I get a similar prompt asking for my password too. Despite
checking the box saying "save password", I get a prompt for the password
straight away.

After spending (ie wasting) time surfing for answers I've tried all the
solutions recommended:
- updating the "Control Panel > Mail > Profile" settings
- via "Control Panel > Mail > Profile", creating new profile and setting
prompt in Outlook to use the new profile.
- fixing the Protected Storage Subsystem
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290684)

.... but none of the above work. It seems bizarre that upgrading a well-known
piece of software like Outlook on XP causes this problem. I am not the only
one to have the problem either, judging by the other questions on here.

So is there anything else I can try? Any help gratefully received...

I recently had to rebuild my XP machine (using an XP SP3-slipstreamed install
CD). For some reason, when I tried to re-add my hotmail.com e-mail to
Outlook 2003 (with all updates applied from Microsoft Update), it no longer
gave me the option of adding a Hotmail account, only an MSN account. This
lead me to what I thought would be a useable solution to accessing my Hotmail
through Outlook: The Outlook Connector.

After downloading and installing the Outlook Connector and restarting
Outlook 2003, I added my hotmail.com e-mail address and waited...and
waited...and waited. I saw my hotmail e-mail folders, and even my contacts,
but there were no messages inside any of the mail folders. Upon checking the
little status bar in Outlook, the connector reported:

Error in Mail
There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your
account has been configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web.
Error: 4350

I logged in to my Hotmail account via the web (which I migrated to the new
Windows Live Hotmail a couple of years ago) and searched around for any type
of configuration in the options that would allow me to "configure" it to work
with the Outlook Connector, but couldn't find anything. I looked in the
"Sync Issues" folder and found the following errors (repeated several times):

Error Synchronizing Message
Error with Send/Receive.

Error Synchronizing Message
Error: 8004010f
Server Command: DELETE

Error Synchronizing Message
Error: 80004003
Server Command: ADD

After Googling around and finding out that others were having similar
problems, I tried removing the Hotmail account in Outlook, uninstalling the
Outlook Connector, reinstalling, readding the Hotmail account, repairing the
Outlook Connector, rebooting, reinstalling, etc...all to no avail. I use
Outlook with an Exchange account, and prior to rebuilding my machine, I was
able to access my Hotmail without the infamous Outlook Connector just fine.
Why, Microsoft?

If anyone has found any way to simply access Hotmail accounts via Outlook
2003, please share.

Frustrated,

Brian Hall

I am having a problem with Outlook's repeated requests for my Network
Password. I can't even do the test send/receive as other users have been
able to do, as it fails. (I know this has been asked several times, but
there are no answers out there that work for me - I have tried them all.)

I am using Windows XP and Outlook 2007.

I have been using Outlook 2007 fine with no problems for about 2 months now,
the problem just started happening today. I did make a change on my
computer, today i installed a software called Remove from Group. I removed
that software after having this issue and the issue persists. I have turned
off automatic send/receive and the problem persists. The only other thing
different that I am doing today is I am using Act 2008 to send the emails,
however other people at my company with the same configuration have been
doing this as well with no issues.

I have followed all suggestions including those at Article ID 209684 in MS
Help and Support, as well as the suggestions from JeePee to check my registry
to make sure it has all the necessary files. It does...

Please help, I am about ready to pull my hair out.

I have tried installing and re-installing Outlook 2003 several times to set
up and access emails and send emails through Hotmail. I cannot receive or
send emails as it always just goes into a never-ending loop asking for my
Hotmail password. I enter the password, but it does not accept it but the
box keeps reappearing.
