Why is only part of message being sent?

When my husband tries to send a message to a particular address, only part of
the message is sent. We run Vista with msoffice student & teacher 2003, and
NOD32 as our anti-virus. On the flip side, we receive messages with
attachments that we open, but that are blank when they should show pictures
or video etc. These come from several different people.

On Friday we decided to lower our sending email size limit due to the
amount of large attachments being sent that day(pretty pictures of
snow). I did this on the message delivery properties under global
settings. What i did not realise is that although I only changed the
sending option it also reduces the receive setting as well( whats the
point of having both fields). I have now put the limit back upto what
it was and its working fine for users that run outlook 2003.If they
use an older version it will not send out the email as outlook pops up
the message " the message being sent exceeds the message size
established for this user". I am hoping that after tonights
maintenance run it will correct the problem but im also intrigued to
know why it only happens on older versions of outlook. I know its not
a user setting as i have got users to login to other workstations and
it works fine for them if they user Outlook 2003.

When I have only one message being sent fromt he Outbox, Outlook 2010 shows in the status bar: Sending 6 of 6. Is this a bug? Is there a fix? Does it matter? Thanks.

I've exported some Exchange 2003 mailboxes (< 2GB ) to pst files and they were all successful. When I tried to import these pst files they got imported but only parts of them - around 15 % completed and the rest failed ( obviously :). I wonder if any of you guys got an idea why/how this happened ? Any help at all would be really appreciated

kind regards

Kent

Can this removal of read receipts be accomplished without the use of
Outlookspy? I would have to pay the $40+ to use it.

The above link did work for me, but it's trialware. I had the same problem
twice, a few months apart, and the second time I couldn't use it without
paying for it. But Microsoft puts out a free utility that will get the job
done. Try:

When I hit the Send/Receive button, I see in the 'sending message' box
thousands of messages being sent. The only way to stop it is Alt/Control/Del
and kill Outlook. Did something take control and turn my computer into a
zombie machine? Would really appreciate any help.

If I log onto a remote pc The Number of messages in sent folder is 5000+ but
is only 300+ when i log into my pc how do i fix this

I have a user who uses several POP accounts on their client.  When a message is sent from the client, sometimes the message sends, but is also sent to the drafts folder.  (It doesn't do this with every email and cannot be duplicated on demand.)  When you check the sent item time and the draft time, they both are showing the same times.  End users are receiving the email, so my question is, why are some messages being sent and also saved in the drafts folders?  It is affecting multiple POP accounts including the default one.

Hello,

Can anyone please enlighten me in how to send an email to only part of a group/dist list? I know that this can be done but whenever I try to do it, I end up modifying the group permanently and have to go back and re-add the users I took out.

You can send an appointment to part of a group but I can't figure out how to send an email.

Thanks,

I'm encountering a problem with 1 specific user being overrun with messages. The problem is that all messages that don't have an account are being sent to this user. For instance, if a message for a MandyX@whatever.com is sent and we do not have a MandyX, the message is sent to this other user. We are currently filtering spam messages, but about 2% get through. This equates to about 200 to 250 email messages being sent to this users inbox. Just to let you know, in the past 5 days our filters have stopped over 15,000 spam messages from making it to his inbox. The bottom line here is there another way to point these Non existant users emails to be deleted from the system automatically.

How is it possible to print only part of an email which shows memo-style as
the only print option? Often emails which have gone back and forth are
several pages long, but I only want to print the most recent reply. I am
using Office Outlook 2007.

hi,

is it possible to delete only parts of either eventlog (i.e. versus
export/import). a customer of me is asking this; maybe he wants to hide some
discleanless ;-).

I have Outlook 2003. It has functioned normally until recently. I am able
to send messages without a problem. However, messages sent to me are not
brought into my personal folder until the next day. They previously were
downloaded from the server (Cox) immediately after clicking sent/receive.
If I go to the Cox server web mail site I can see the messages waiting to be
delivered. If I go into Outlook and click send/receive and then check the
web mail server, they have left. In Outlook the standard message after
clicking send/receive indicates a number of messages are coming in but they
do not then appear in my InBox. Reclicking only brings up "send/receive
complete"! The next day, almost exactly 24 hours later, all the messages I
saw in the web mail site mysteriously show up in the In box without any
prompting on my part. I simply open Outlook and there they are, a day late.
Cox says this has nothing to do with their server and it is a problem with
the program. They do not support Outlook, only OE. Is there a simple
solution to this annoying problem??
Thanks everyone.

I am seeing a count greater than expected when sending messages in Outlook
2007. For example it is showing sedning 2 when only one message is in the
outbox to be sent. I have deep scanned with NOD32 and Microsoft Defender.
Neither identifies any malware. There is nothing unusual in the Sent Items.
How do I find out what is being sent.

If I have a single email in my outbox, then hit send/receive, I always see
"sending 2 of 2 emails" in the bottom right corner. My sent box shows only 1
has been sent. I'm just puzzled about why it shows 2 being sent when there is
only one.

Thanks for any explanations or suggestions!

Some of our users here have mentioned that they are getting duplicate messages. It only appreas to happen when a user's external e-mail is specified.

Our setup is as follows.
A 3rd party program, eXchange POP3 polls a POP3 server every five minutes, downloads the mail there and fowards it to the exchange server. Outbound, the exchange server fowards the mail directly to the POP3 server for delevery.

I tracked one of the messages and saw the message: "Message submitted to Advanced Queuing" multiple times. ie once when the message was sent origionally (5:30 PM) and saw the messages delivered and the log end. Then the tracking shows the same log starting again at 3:30 AM and again at 5:50 AM.

Any ideas on what can be done to resolve this?

Hi,

I get a fixed format auto generated email from our fax software
whenever a fax is sent out. I need to be able to print out part of the
messages in a tabular format, which would show us the fax number of the
recepient, the time it was sent and the status as in NORMAL or ABORTED
or RETRY. All this info is in a fixed format.

My thoughts

1. Increase the number of lines for auto preview, so that it show more
data and then I can print it out
2. Use some kind of software tool like some .net app to print out what
I want.

Any ideas on how to acheive the above or any other way to do it ?

Regards

With 1 message in my Outbox to be sent, I hit "send/receive." At the bottom
right corner, a note that "sending 1 of 3" then "sending 2 of 3", then
finally "sending 3 of 3" is seen. Only the 1 current e-mail message I have
composed and which is sitting in my Outbox shows up in my Sent Box. However,
I have received word that 3 e-mails are being sent out. (The 1 recent e-mail
and also 2 e-mails that were previously composed and sent the day before.)
How do I get rid of the 2 e-mails going out everytime I hit "send/receive"?
They aren't residing in my Outbox. There is no indication in my Sent Box that
these two e-mails are sent.
Thx.

I have a growing problem where my users Out of Office is sending an old
message out. They have gone in and edited the message, saved it, then turned
on OOO, then bamm. The old message appears and is sent.

I know you can try and use the cleanrules swicth as well as try and edit it
via OWA.

My question is why is this happening? We recenly migrated to XP and used the
Outlook migration wizard. Could have casued this?

My cusotmer is driving me crazy wanting to know why.

Thanks in advance

Having an issue where anywhere from 2-8 duplicates of an email sent to a distribution list is sent out.... Any idea on why and how to fix?

I have selected 'save copies of messages in sent item folder'. So no problem
with message without attachment, ie. messages are automatically saved in sent
item folder. Now my problem is : messages with attachment are not saved in
sent item folder however i have selected 'save copies of messages in sent
item folder'. I would appreciate if anybody could help me.
Thanks

I'm used to getting messages bounce back when addresses on my mailing lists
have expired, but now I am getting messages that I never even sent bounce
back. Why is this, and could it be that our system has a trojan virus?
