Outlook 2003 can't send emails but Outlook Test Message works

I am having problems sending emails (but not receiving them) and some
internet sites such as downloading windows updates and online banking
transactions. The two problems arose at the same time.

I am using XP Professional and Outlook 2003.

I have recently PPP.

I have a laptop running Vista and Outlook 2003 on the same network and it
works fine.

Email
When testing email account settings I successfully receive the test email.
When I reply to it (effectively sending it to myself) I receive a reply.
However, if I try to reply to the subsequent email I get an error message
‘..0x800CCC0F …connection to server interrupted..’ An attempt to send any
other emails to myself gets the same response. Interestingly I often have a
message saying ‘sending 1 of 1 emails’ even though I have deleted all failed
emails from my outbox.

Internet
I get a standard ‘Sever cannot be found’ page when I attempt to use internet
banking etc. and 0x80072EE2 when trying to upload Windows updates (I have
followed the MS advice to eradicate the problem but no luck)

I suspect the ‘server interruption’ could be the common link. But otherwise
no idea.

I have
1) Read dozens of threads on various forums
2) Checked the settings for my email accounts
1. Deactivated all Firewalls
2. Removed McAfee using mcrp.exe provided by MacAfee to clean registry entries
3. Carried detect and repair in Outlook
4. Uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2003 (Office Professional)
5. Removed and replaced the Outlook.pst files
6. Created a new profile in Outlook
7. Restored my system to a point where the problem did not occur
8. Ran Windows Installer Clean Up
9. Replaced IE 6 with IE 7
10. Added problem sites such as the ms download site to Trusted Sites in IE7.
11. Tried CCleaner to clean up registry

If anyone can help me I would be very, very happy.

Sorry, no and no.
I have 2 Computers with the same problem. I uninstalled and re-installed
Outlook 2003 without any add-in and the problem is still there.

Hello

Outlook 2003 cannot send emails from multiple PCs on our network at the
moment. They just sit in the outbox and do now sned and get moved to sent
items folder as they should. I have done some research on this and the only
things that look like they could have caused this issue is antivirus scanning
outgoing mails and a plugin marking emails in outbox as read. I have looked
into these posibilities and neither are applicable to our network. we are
running Office 2003, Exchange 2003, Win XP, Server 2003

Any help would be greatly apreciated!

Kind Regards

Bruce

In unwise efforts to clean up my computer, I deleted several programs,
namely, Microsoft Office 2000 (I updated to Office 2003 a while back and felt
having both was unnecessary). Now, when I open Outlook, it says
"send/receive", but it doesn't do it. And when I try to send messages, it
again says "send/receive", but the message just stays in the Outbox and
doesn't go anywhere. I know there are messages to be had, because I can
access them on a different computer; they just won't come in on mine. I have
reinstalled Office 2000, but that didn't work. What have I deleted, and how
can I get it back?

I am experiencing an issue sending email to a certain email contact. Before I
never had trouble senting email to this contact. It started about a week ago.
Their IT department sees no problem on their end. It seems to be related to
Outlook. Immediately after sending email, I receive the following message
from the System Administrator:

Hi, I have a strange problem which is that my MS Office Outlook 2003 keeps
trying to send emails but I don't have any to send!!!
At the bottom it says Sending 1 of 1,2 or 3 messages!! But there is nothing
to send!! The out box is empty!! The out boxes on Yahoo, Gmail etc are
empty....In fact every folder is empty!!!
I have several email accounts using Outlook but everything seems to be sent
OK and received. Sometimes I get a error code 553...address not verified!! Or
that the server took longer to answer than it should have taken. And these
errors messages are a pain.
I have scanned with my Anti-virus and Anti Spy programs (Spybot, Adaware,
The Anti spy in Zone Alarm and AVG Anti Spy) and some online scanners
(Bitdefender, Windows Onecare, Kaspersky, Pandasoftware) but apart from a few
cookies (which have been deleted) Nothing shows up!!
I am using a Windows Xp Pro Sp2

Hi All,
I have two accounts setup under outlook 2003 which i just started using
on a brand new dell computer. My sbcglobal Home account works fine but
Work account will not send emails. I receive this error message:
"Task 'Work - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation
timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you
continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).', "when trying to check my email.

Also, if I use the test settings buttons under the account setup
screen, I get this message:
"Send test e-mail message: The specified server was found, but there
was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL
information is correct. To access these setting close this dialog,
then click More Settings and click on the Advanced tab."

I have tried temporarily disabling my virus software which is pc-cillin
internet security 14 if that helps and still the same issues. These
same settings worked with outlook 2000 and outlook express and now I
cannot get it to work. I assure I have tried all the standard fixes
like uninstalling and reinstalling...I even went to a working station
at the office and looked at the seetings there and mine are identical
in every way. Anyone know how to solve this issue?

Thanks!
Tony

I have recently set up Outlook 2003 on my home computer to send / receive
from a yahoo web email account. Everything tests successfully except sending
email. I can receive and download email from the server but cannot send? The
error says something about ports but I am using defaults and it should be
fine. My home network is using a netgear wireless router. A friend suggested
it might be packet size but netgear website says that the router default is
1500 which is the largest ethernet packet size(so they say). I dont know much
about networking so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi to all -

I recently bought a new laptop which runs vista 32 bit and i've installed my
old office 2003 suite on it. I'm using bigpond wireless 21 usb internet too.

All my email accounts worked perfect on the xp desktop using same program
but with Optus adsl broadband.

Now with Telstra I can't send emails but can receive. Which is absolutely
detrimental to my work!

I've used the bigpond email settings as displayed on their website:

http://bigpond.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bigpond.cfg/php/enduser/ std_adp.php?display=content&p_page=1&p_faqid=10486&a mp;p_Platform=N

And when I run 'test account settings' it all goes through fine.

When I send an email it goes into 'sent items'.

But I then instantly receive a message saying:

UNDELIVERABLE: [email subject]
System Administrator

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: [Details]
Sent: [Date/Time]
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.

Please help someone! I've searched around and found old posts on forums
which said to try ssl (Doesn't work) and changing port numbers but nothing
seems to be working.

Outlook 2003 can send, but not receive messages. I tried sending from
different accounts, but had no luck. When I tried to email from outlook all
the emails were received. Any ideas?

I have Outlook 2010 w BCM.  For weeks my system was working fine, then one day, I learned that many messages were not getting received, but showed as sent.  No error messages.

For one account, the test messages work fine, and regular messages appear to send, but they are never received.

I have several accounts and others with the same settings work OK.  It appeared to be a port problem and when I changed the settings to 995 encrypted and 586 none, it seemed to work for the other accounts, but not this one.

I am using Comcast and 3rd party ISPs.  I've got the smtp set to smtp.comcast.net and use the comcast login on the authentication.

Other oddities include:  there are two entries for each account in the send receive progress when I hit send.  When I change the default email account in Outlook, BCM uses the old default account for mass emails.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I am at a loss. Upgrading from 2003 to 2010 Exchange. I moved a “test” user to the 2010 Exchange. I can send email; I can use my mobile phone to connect to the 2010 Exchange Server; I can access OWA internally and through the Internet; I can use Outlook to access the account. Sending email is not a problem from any source, BUT I cannot receive any emails, internal or external, on the account.

Let me explain the configuration. The 2010 Exchange Server is doing Client Access, Hub Transport, Mail Storage, and Unified Messaging. The 2003 and 2010 Exchange servers seem to see each other. There is NO Edge Transport server. I was able to MOVE the mail box from the 2003 Exchange to 2010 Server. Both systems use a “smart host” through MxLogic. I verified the account access through an outside source is recognized. (See Exhibit 2). Tested the connectors and set to AnonymousUsers. (See Exhibit 1) Turned off IPv6 with registry hack.

I am concerned about doing more for fear of losing things that are working. Looking for suggestions.
