Lost My Outlook!!!

I have Windows XP and Office 2003. Today Outlook was not performing the
Send/Receive tasks. After fussing with it for hours, I went to 'Help' and
performed a Repair, and selected to restore to original settings. I had NO
idea that would delete everything in Outlook including messages, caledar and
contacts!

Any suggestions for getting the old info back and fixing the Send/Receive
problem?

By mistake, I deleted the MS Business Contact. Unable to open my Outlook 2003
and other office programmes. How do I reinstall without losing any of my
mails?
Sitting in China unable to get work done.
Please help ASAP.

i just got a new cell phone, the shadow, and when i plugged it in to sync my
outlook contacts a window popped up that said certain contacts could not be
syncronized. I clicked on OK and all the contacts that weren't synced were
gone from outlook and I can't find them.

When I set up office 2010 I lost my outlook folders. I can see them when I chack "properties" folder size but can get them on the home page.

i lost my ms outlook 2002 product key, the disk came with me hand held device

I seem to have lost the functionality to enter appointments in my Outlook
calendar. The 'pop up' where the details of the appointment just doesn't
appear anymore! Any ideas how to remedy this, please???

I have just downloaded Outlook 2007 from Microsoft updates, but I lost my
e-mails and folders from the older version, can any one tell me how to
retrieve them. It would be much appreciated.

Hello,

I have lost my favorite folders and cannot find the way to get them back, as

I lost my hardrive and had to reinstall everything. My outlook 2003 student
version kept "encountering a problem and closing", I reported the problem and
was advised to install an update. Unfortunately it did not correct the
problem. i don't have to be using the program it happens from just being
open. I run windows XP.

I am thinking of reinstalling but will I lose my stuff?

I bought a new computer thru Dell with Windows XP and Outlook Express as my
email provider this past June. I needed Word and Excell and Publisher but
this package did not include any Microsoft Office programs. I had an old
Office 2000 disk I had purchased and still had the code so I downloaded the
first of two disks, that had Word, Outlook, Excell, and some other tools. I
told Outlook that it was not my preferred email as I thought it would be the
old version and I didn't want it to override my Outlook Express 6.0.
Everything installed seemingly fine but now if I try to open my email with
Outlook Express icon I get this message over a black OE screen:

16 bit MS-Dos Subsystem
NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction
CS:054e IP:0100 OP: FF FF FF FF FF

I have tried removing Office 2000, a system restore, checked the file type
and it is still Internet Explorer, and called Dell who said I should save all
my files and do a complete PC restore. It will mean I lose all the saved
messages in my OE and my address book, and I have a lot of business and
personal emails saved that I do not want erased. Also it means reinstalling
many other programs that are on the computer, like my printer, scanner,
camera, etc. Please tell me there is a fix that won't do that to me! I
have scoured the Microsoft files using the error message contents but can't
find anything like this. Did the Office 2000 do this and should I throw it
away? I am totally frustrated!

my resetting my outlook to default, does that erase all my old emails and
contacts?

I just received a sprint ppc 6700 I installed activesync, plugged up my 6700
and tried to choose my last active sync under File then mobile device. None
of my previous saves were shown. Since then, I've been getting error messages
on my outlook, and my outlook express is acting up. My outlook express has
lost all the addresses that were on them. My outlook gets an error message
about sending and receiving mesages. It states

0 of 1 tasks completed successfully
Task mail.optonline.net-Sending and Receiving reported error (ox8004210A):
The operation timed out wating for a response fromt eh receiving (pop)
server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)

I beleive that somehow all of these are conected. I've already uninstalled
activesync and reinstalled it. My main concern is getting my contacts on my
6700. If I uninstall outlook will I lose all the contact information? I'm
feeling this is the reason for my problems. I've tried a repair already and
that didn't work.

Is there a Notes feature in 2007? All my 2003 Notes didn't import. Are they
lost?

Thanks, Don

upgraded to outlook 2007 and lost my "notes" folder. tried to create a new
"notes" folder in "personal folders" and message "folder exists...choose
another name..etal". looking in the personal folders and there is "no" notes
folder. try to create a new Note....seems to save it somewhere, but not in a
place I can find. click on the "notes" icon and outlook crashes...help...

I had office 2000 and installed office 2003. I have all my excel and word
documents, but none of my outlook emails, address book, or any other items
from 2000 are in my outlook 2003. How do I get them to there? What
happened? Where are they?

I recently had my computer crash and I had to reinstall windows and all my
programs. After reinstalling Office professional 2000 I would like to try
and find my tasks, reminders, etc. that were saved in Outlook. Prior to
fromatting my hard drive and rebuilding my computer, I was able to save most
of my old files onto an external hard drive. Can anyone tell me what files I
need to copy inorder to have my old data for Outlook?? I couldn't find any
..PST files. After reinstalling office, I tried overwriting the entire
Program filesMicrosoft Office subdirectory with the older files I was able
to save, but that didn't work. Perhaps someone knows the names of the files
I need to again have my old calendar entries, contacts, tasks, etc?

My rules have disappeared. And the Tools menu Rules options have
disappeared also.

Plus, when I click on right click on a piece of mail, and pick the
create rule option, nothing happens.

So I have three problems:

1. Outlook has lost all of my rules. Not I big deal I did not have
many.

2. It will not create a rule. A big deal as I can not enter any new
rules.

3. The Tools menu does not have and will not take a Run Rules option.

So basically all commands, options, features related to rules are
inoperable. What kind of cs program is this.

By the way, my Outlook is on one computer. I only access Outlook from
this one computer. I have only one version of Outlook running.

what is going on?

How do I fix this?

Thaks

feeling this is the reason for my problems. I've tried other forums and
someone suggested saving my ptf for outlook and reinstalling it. I don't know
how to do that, and don't want to make matters worse. Also When I hit start
(for windows) it list two different Microsoft Outlooks. It shows Microsoft
outlook and it also shows email in bold and Mirocsoft outlook in sort of a
light colered font. The way Internet is shown in bold, and underneath it
internet explorere is in a light colered font. I tried a repair and I'm still
having the problems. I'm using windows xp. Please help.

I'm running XP Pro SP3

I spent a little time re-sorting the folder structure in the start menu.
The idea was make things a little more logical after I had XP re-loaded and a
back-up reinstated after a hard drive crash. I had quite a few duplicate
folders.

After moving a few folders around I looked in my Outlook where I used to
have a few email and some 'tasks' that I had set up, there was nothing there!

I'm happy with my new folder 'tree' but would like to find and reinstate my
lost email and tasks. Is there an easy way to do this?

I have VISTA Business and have been using Outlook 2007 for a number of
months. Suddenly, I lost my contacts folders and all the information in it.
I have been able to get the contacts folder back, but the folder is empty. I
know the information is somewhere in the computer because when I send email
and start typing in names choices from my address book come up. How do I
find all the names.

Hello, All. Currently, I am programming a tool which is supposed to
set a group of outlook settings programmatically. For that purpose I
simulate manual clicking through the Outlook with my program code.
Now, I encountered the following problem:

I want to "click" on the Inbox symbol in my Outlook folder bar.
Currently I do that this way:

FpApp := CoOutlookApplication.Create;
FpApp.GetNamespace('MAPI').GetDefaultFolder(olFold erInbox).Display;

However, this command opens a new Outlook window with clicked Inbox
folder. But I want to click in the window that already exists! Not in
a new one. Is there any possibility to do that? Otherways, all the
settings I set in the new window are lost after my program terminates:

I downloaded a free copy of office 2007. I did not like it and went back to
Office 2003. Now my Outlook 2003 will not let me backup my mail through
export to pst files. I have also lost my send/receive button. I tried to
delete my old account and enter anew one as suggested by the help file for
losing your send/receive button but to no avail.

I just want to delete and reinstall outlook 2003 but I can't back up my
mail and if I delete and reinstall I will lose all my mail. Microsoft wants
me to pay for a service call but I wouldn't need a service call if the Office
2007 free trial allowed me to go back to 2003 seamlessly. This has to be a
bug in Microsoft's trial version and I should not have to pay for support,
especially when everything was working perfectly until in tried to downgrade
back to 2003.

Someone please help!

My Word program was not responding and would not validate (original install
from Toshiba). I don't know why I did it, but I did a detect & repair or did
something to reinstall my Outlook and now my entire data base is gone,
including the email accounts. I tried to do a system restore from a previous
restore point, but it said it could not restore. This is my business contact
list. I am panicked. I have no backup.

When using PSTBACKUP for Outlook 2003 it appears that I mistakenly set the
“backup TO” path to the folder and file of my Outlook data for a
NON-administrator user from the Outlook application of an administrator user.
I thought the field was the “backup FROM” file path. Oops.
I had installed PSTBACKUP for the administrator user and thought I was
changing the path of the Outlook file that I wanted to backup from to the
file path used by the NON-administrator user application so that it would
backup Outlook and the backup option would be available in the
NON-administrator user Outlook application.
There is no significant data in the Outlook application of the
administrative user. After the backup I launched the Outlook application for
the NON-administrative user expecting to find my usual data, 15-years worth
of notes, but it was empty.
I have searched for other PST files and find none with recent data in them
only 256k data files with no data and a 256k backup with no data in it. Is
there anyway to recover the data that I appear to have lost?
I do find three additional personal folders in the NON-administrator’s
Outlook, but no data in the folders.

How should I set up PSTBACUP for a NON-administrator user?
