Unable to get email...

This is a problem I am trying to figure out for a friend. She cannot get her
email, but there is not error message, just doesn't do anything. She is
working on a dial up connection that is working fine. There is an icon down
in the bottom right of the Outlook window that looks like a little rectangle
box with a green light on the right of it and there is a line coming out the
bottom with an X on the line. We are thinking that is trying to tell us
something, but cannot determine what it is. Does anyone have any idea what
might be the problem or where to begin looking. We have tried deleting the
email account and recreating it and have checked the folder file and it looks
fine. Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks

I have a problem where one user is unable to receive email from a particular external recipient. All other users in the organisation can receive email from them.

When i track the message in system manager i get the following results
13:59 SMTP: Message Delivered Locally to user@contoso.com
13:59 SMTP: Non-Delivered Report (NDR) generated.

It is not being blocked by junk mail filters in Outlook. It just seems to get deleted as soon as it reached the users local store.

Has anyone seen anything like this before. I have seen it happen to a couple of users in my company. Each time an email from an external user generates a NDR when sent to them but all other users in the company can receive email sent by the same person.

I am running Exchange 2003.

using 2003, am unable to send emails, but can receive them fine

am not getting any error message and "test account setting" shows all is
working fine (it even send me a test email)

if i use the repaire option in reinstall , the emails then send , but next
time send and receive is run the problem starts again ?

I use Outlook Web Access to read my company email, but I am unable to reply
or send messages. I am running Vista OS and have disabled pop up blockers,
but still unable to send email. Receipt is fine, reply and send do not work.
I get a small box with a red x in the upper left hand corner of the reply or
message area.

Corporate IT does not know what to advise. Thanks,

bingram

I was unable to send email in my outbox today using a new (2 week old)
Dell GX520,
microsoft small business edition (OUTLOOK 2003) and Verizon DSL.

Kept getting unable to connect to the outgoing server and this
0X80042109 message.

Also the incoming pop connection couldn't be made, although I still go
my incoming email. Only outgoing was stuck in the outgoing box.

Verizon said the OX is a microsoft error. He took out all my settings
for verizon and put them back in and then it worked.

But what does this OX signify?

He thought there might be a corruption in a DLL file.

This is my 3rd OPtiplex type computer from dell and it seems like I'm
having problems with outlook on all 3, and they blame me at dell.

Thanks.

Thanks,
it now works fine

In July I upgraded to Office Professional 2007. While I was on vacation last
week my grandson used my old Office Professional 2000 disc on my computer. It
changed my email back to the older version. Now I am unable to get my email
in Outlook to work at all. I uminstalled the new version & reinstalled it.
Still I et the message to go to control panel, mail, show profiles, add, new
profile. I go through all of the steps & it still will not go through.

Suddenly I am unable to send emails - I have my exchange box on a windows 2003 server which is connected to a router thats on a broadband connection. The External DNS IP address to resolve emails is my router's IP address - the forwarding External DNS names IP address is the routers address as well. I have a feeling its a DNS problem - can't be sure. Anyone got any ideas?

Help ME:I am unable to receive email to my ISA (Firewall)and allow OWA.Thanks

We face some problem that our exchange server was unable to send email to certain domain and the email keep stay in the queue. When i trace the message using message tracking center, the message just stop at "Message Route and Queued For Remote Delivery" . When i try a telnet to one of the fail domain, i received this error message from the Symantec "Your email message was unable to be send because your mail server rejected the message" 421  (DNS:NR). Also, when user send any mail to hotmail.com, the mail was delay for 1 hour before it reach hotmail.com.
We have check that we got reverse dns, not using dynamic ip address.
The error message received by the user was :

This message was rejected due to the current administrative policy by the destination server. Please retry at a later time. If that fails, contact your system administrator.

Our Exchange server was behind a Symantec gateway, the the gateway was behind a firewall.

Doesn any one has any idea what happen? Thanks for reading and any reply will be very appreciate.

I am unable to get relaying working and I can't figure out why. I have the following needs:

1) External clients use the Exchange 2007 server as an SMTP server.
2) Internal clients that don't use Outlook use the Exchange 2007 server as an SMTP server.

I don't think it's crazy what I'm trying to do, but it's just not working. Internal clients get "0X800CCC0F The connection to the server was interupted".

I have 2 receive connectors: Client and Default. Client is set with the IP range of our network plus the VPN users. It's listening on ports 25 and 587. I've tried so many combinations of the authentication methods that I am going blind. I've even tried just Basic all by itself with nothing. No luck. I have permission groups all selected. The Default one is set the same except for ports 25 and 2525. 2525 is for those who are on sites that don't allow connections on 25 except to their own mail servers.

HELP!

We have an issue where users at an EOC test site are now unable to recieve
email from our central email system. They are able to send email to the
central email system.
They are in different domains and seperated by a firewall.
They lost connectivity when we removed the last remaining Exchange 5.5
servers that were performing the relay function for our site and replaced
them with Exchange 2003 servers. All other critical services are functioning
fine but for some reason we can't figure out why the site lost the ability to
recieve email.
Other users in our domain at the site are not experiencing a problem.
We would like some help in finding the place to allow email to be sent to
the EOC test site Exchange server, which is a Windows and Exchange 2000
server.
We were thinking of just adding another Address Space with the domain name
or creating a new SMTP connector.
Looking for the right solution.
Thanks

Having logged into OWA using premium access everything is there but am unable
to open emails, can delete them, then unable to log off. If I go in using
basic access everything works however the default font ' times new roman' is
default in both existing emails and new mail created. Any ideas. I have a
suspicion I may have a port too many closed on my firewall.

Hi,
We have an exchange site with two mail servers running exchange 5.5. We
have upgraded our OWA servers to windows 2000 servers and from then we are
not able to access mail boxes which are hosted on the second server. But if
the mailbox is hosted on the primary server they are accessible without any
problem. But when we try to access the mailbox hosted on the second server
we immediately receive a error "OWA was unable to get to your inbox." error.

Any clues .

P.S: I have done all the checking and the ethreal output on the IIS server
is giving a "DECRPC access denied error" when connecting to the exchange
server

Hi
I recently installed a new exchange server(ServerB) to our existing exchange environment (2003 enterprise on a windows Server 2003 R2 Box) via the swing migration technique. The plan is that this new server will replace the existing server (ServerA).
The new exchange server is part of the same administrative group as the existing server. There is an SMTP Connector configured and the existing exchange server is the local bridgehead server. There is no smarthost, instead it uses the DNS option.
The exact isssue is as follows: Mailboxes on the serverB are unable to send email to mailboxes on ServerA. ServerA can send to ServerB. ServerB can send and receive to Internet addresses. When I send an email from ServerB to ServerA I can see that the email is held in a queue named ServerA.oranisation.com on ServerB queues folder.
Anybody have any ideas as to why this happens? any help appreciated

Our exchange services will not start, we cannot run esutil to repair database as it keeps mentioning that the server cannot be found

Error: Unable to get databases status from server. The reason could be either wrong server name or networking problems. ISINTEG Quits now

Any Ideas ??

Hi

We've been using OWA for some time here without any problems.
Since we updated our win2k server tot SP3 we get the message "Unable to get to you inbox"

Our config:
Exchange 4.4 SP4 on WinNT SP6a
OWA SP4 on Win2k SP3

After uninstalling SP3 on the Win2k server everything works fine again.

Does anyone know what causes this?

Thanx,
Mark

I have managed to get access to OWA last week whilst in the USA. I now get the error message 'unable to get renderer', before being rejected from O.W.A. I can still access internet. Any ideas on how to fix!??

i am unable to receive emails from hotmail.com to my exchange 2k server. I am able to receive emails from aol.com. This is very strange. The domain is: viewpt.net and the email server is 63.85.131.70. I am able to telnet to the server from an outside connection. Please advise!

Craig

Let me start off with I am a total noob when it comes to Exchange 2007.
I setup one server with all roles and created some test mailboxes and was able to email internally and externally from ex07 to ex03 with no problems. I changed the receive/send connector names to match our naming strategy then I moved my mailbox to test; I was able to send email to 07, 03 and external mailboxes but was an unable to receive email from ex03 and external address. I have recreated the receive connector a bunch of times and have had no look.

I have one Ex2007 server; an Ex2003 server that is acting as my bridgehead server and a smart host that runs AV/SPAM in my DMZ all mail from my 2003 server routes through this.

Any help or trouble shooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'm asking this for my father. For some reason he is unable to send emails
using Outlook Express. He can receive them but can't send. He has had the
cable company to come out and they find no problem with his Internet provider
or email address. This just happened today...up until then he could send and
receive. Can you please help me to help him. Why would he all of a sudden
not be able to send emails. Please email me at kleafarr@earthlink.net.
Thanks for your help.
