can't open new mail message or reply

my computer is 2 months old. Office bought through Dell so NO support
All of a sudden - I cannot create a new mail message either using the icon
or off the file menu and I cannot reply to a message. I get an never ending
hourglass and then error message saying that it is not responsive. Ideas?

Words to not appear in the body of a new mail message:

When I want to create a new message, I can insert the the person's address
in the TO field from my contacts (or type it) and I can also type in the
Subject line, but I am unable to type in the body of the message using the
keyboard. When I type in the body of the message, all that appears is a blank
for keystrokes or sometimes a faint yellow line instead of words. This is
very frustrating as I cannot create and thus send any new messages. However,
I can open a message sent to me and reply by typing the message without any
problem, but just can't type when creating a new mail message. Help!

Gurus,

My Outlook 2007 had issue creating a "New" message complaining that a dialog
box was already "Open". Outlook needed to be closed and re-opened, and the
dialog box prompting for User Initials had to be acknowledged before the
other dialog boxes were answered or Outlook would continually complain that
a box was already "Open" when trying to send a new mail message. Anyone seen
this? So many dialog prompts seem to launch when a new user starts OL 2007
such as the prompt for newsfeeds, Instant Search and the dialog to enter in
user information that Outlook confuses itself I think.

Is there any way to automatically run a macro every time I open the new mail message form ?
Please note that I mean the new mail message form that I open when I want to start a new
outgoing message, not opening a newly received message.

Thanks.

When I compose a new mail message using the Tahoma font, it looks completely
different when I receive the message back. Is there a setting you can change
to make the fonts display how they look when you get a reply back?? My
settings are set to HTML view, but my fonts don't look like they are supposed
to when I compose a new message? Any thoughts, tips or tricks. I wasn't
sure if it had to do with the mail editor...
Thanks!

new computer wont open tab for new mail message

Is there a way to either hear the new mail sound or see a desktop alert
across user accounts? I want to be able to know if I have new email when
someone else has their user account open on this computer?

Help pls....
So I work at a company, that has Outlook 2003 SP2 installed on every
computer, and I have a problem:
On one of the PC's when I select New Mail Message, it popup's a window to
write the mail, the idea is that the window it doesn't save its size and
position (if i resize or move it, than close it, when I select again a new
mail message, the position and size doesn't remain like I left it.
On all the other computers the window position and size is saved except on
that one.
All Outlooks are genuine, with license and stuff.

Is there a option that I am not finding, a check box, something?
Pls... help
10x in advance :)

Danny

Hi!
I am using Outlook 2003 and Windows XP Home Edition. For some reason
when typing a new email message or replying to an email received although
the font size is set at Times New Roman 12, the type size is huge like 16 or
18 points. In the To section the size is right and also in the subject
line. When the email is received by others it is correctly sized. When I
send test messages to myself the received text is correct size. This only
happens in Outlook 2003 and not Word or any other application.
I have tried detect and repair and have reinstalled Outlook 2003 and it
still happens. When typing an email if I reduce the point size back to 8,
it reduces the size some but still is like 14 points.

Thanks for any help,
John White

The key word is "default" to print layout. The standard seems to be default
to either Normal Layout or Reading Layout, but I don't see a way to choose
the Print Layout while composing a new mail message in Outlook 2003 SP2
running on XP/Pro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I start a new mail message I click on the "To" button to display my
contacts to select for the new message. In screen that pops up when I select
the "to" shows email addresses and fax or business numbers. Is there a way
to customize this screen where it will only show my contacts' email addresses
and not show their fax or business numbers?

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

How do I turn off the prompt "allow access" when selecting "new mail
message". IT has the option to allow acces to address book for 1,2 5, or 10
minutes. I can not start a new message without dealing with this prompt.
Thanks!

Office 2003 is installed six on this machines with OutLook.

Only one has this problem. Word is selected in the editor for mail format
and Html is selected in the drop down. The name of the signature file has
been selected in both new and forward / reply drop downs. I can unselect
them to none. Three Format files were created by outlook rft, html and txt.

But

Creating a new email from the outlook tool bar "New" > "Mail Messages" the
signature does not automaticly insert. but it can be added manually by the
toolbal "Insert".

The signatures for forward and reply word fine. And they are the very same
three files mentioned above.

This is the President of the company and I doesn't look good that his
Outlook is messed up. Can anybody help.

I recently added a new input language (Brazilian Portuguese) to my computer.
Everything seems to be working fine, e.g. I'm easily able to toggle back and
forth between English and Brazilian Portuguese when using Word, except in
Outlook. Even when English is selected as the active language for my
keyboard, it seems to swap back to Portuguese when I attempt to compose a new
mail message in Outlook. This means that every time I compose a new mail
message I need to open my language bar and toggle back to English, which is a
pain when you're sending hundreds of e-mails per day.

Any idea why this is happening and how it can be fixed? Much thanks!

Alex
