MAPI Folder not found

I'm running W7 64 bit & Office 2010. I'm trying to use the mail merge function in Word and when I choose Outlook Contacts as database, I get an error message saying "Error has occured: MAPI folder or address book not found."

Thanks in advance for any help.

I am trying to link an Outlook public folder (Exchange 2k3) to an Access Table. I can get this to work successfully if I do it on a client but if I put the mdb on the exchange server and try to query it, I get:

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] There are no MAPI clients installed on this machine. Install a MAPI client (like Outlook) on this machine.

Even after I install outlook 2003 on the server, I still get this message. Anyone have any ideas?

Another possible clue to the issue is that if I open the mdb in access on the server, it comes back with "Mapi folder not found" when I try to open the table. I suppose the exchange server mapi settings are not working right? Also, if I try to link to exchange data from an mdb directly on the server, the mapi folder selection doesnt come back with the exchange data, but rather crap data similar to:

NoName
1
2
3

(Instead of the right data)
Mailbox JDoe
Mailbox LSmith
Public Folders

Hello,

during the public folder migration we have the error-messages, that various public MAPI-folders was found (in the public standard and the public system folder).

What can we do to correct this error? We don't have used public folders in Exchange 2007.

Thank you for your help.

Birgit

Actually there was also POP Client  which I deleted and created MAPI Client. and then I move all the Mails, sent Items etc, from Personal Folder to the new Folder named by the name of Client. After that this error occurs.

Kindly tell me the Solution.

Hi everyone,

When the public folder button pressed, an error saying page not found displayed (http 404 error).
It seems like the button link to wrong url. Could somebody please help me?
Many Thanks.

i have an issue that when i invite her/him for meeting request and she/he
tried to accept the meeting she/him will get "calendar folder can't not be
found", client version is outlook 2000 and outlook 2003..

i think it is freebusy issue but what do i need to do to solve it ? all
users all in same sites and in some cases, is on same server.

I recently went through the process of reinstalling OL98 and
reconnecting to my outlook.pst file and now I find that when I compose
a new email message the name I type into the to: field that email
address is not found in the contact folder. What steps do I need to
take to remedy this problem?

Thanks.

I recieve this message in Outlook, "Exchange server reports object not found" After an hour of research I have found that most recieve this after migrating from 2000 to 2003 but I am running a brand new 2003 server First Name Organization, all of my folders point to itself, has anyone come across this?

I have two CCR mailbox server clusters in my Exchange 2007 SP1 environment. The Public Folder database was created on one of my CCR mailbox servers and I wanted it created on the other.

I create a new public folder database on CCR Cluster2 and replicated all the information to the database and then retired the first public folder store.
Everyday on the original CCR cluster that hosted the public folder store I get this message

MSEXchangeFBPublish EventID 8275
SchedulePlusFreeBusy folder could not be opened for duplicate message deletion on virtual machine CCRCLUSTER1. The error number is 0x80040115.

I'm not sure what to do to get rid of this error. I now only have one public folder database and no replica. Is a replica required?

I'm fairly certain everyting is working correctly for Public Folders as I can see Free Busy information for people and its updating.

I am also getting EXCDO errors occasionaly.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm a newbie to Exchange 2000 and
we are experiencing serious limitations regarding the use of certain characters (.., ./, , :, %,&) in the subject line of email messages, if they are viewed using OWA.
Users with such emails are getting a "page not found" error when they open up the email.
I am not sure if the IIS Lockdown was implemented by design and if this is something I need to do. The following article explains in more detail -

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;309508

In order to enable the use of these characters, I edited the URLScan.ini file that is located in the C:WinntSystem32InetsrvUrlscan folder to allow these characters but I'm a little weary of running IISLOCKD.exe. I don't want to break anything.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've just successfully installed Exchange 2003 last week that is published through ISA Server 2000 (both on win2k3). Everything works great as far as OWA with encryption, pop3/smtp, imap, rpc, certificates. Many thanks to T.S. for the great tips everywhere.

However, I can't get the ExAdmin to work at all. It won't connect to the page (file not found). In addition, the server manager can't manage public folders either... i can't connect to them. However, the public folders work fine through OWA.

I've been through everything i could find on the net... urlscan (nothing in the logs on the firewall or webserver), registry settings, etc. I even see a few posts on this board about it with no answers. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there anything supposed to be in the Exadmin directory? I've logged the page that the server manager tries to browse to and pasted it to a browser... everything authenticates fine, but again, file not found.

I'm pulling my hair out over here... does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Hi

I've just setup OWA on an Exchange 2003 FE server. The server sits behind an
ISA server. When I type the URL of the OWA site I get the following error:

Page cannot be displayed

404 Not Found - The requested item could not be located. (12028)
Internet Security and Acceleration Server

I originally thought the issue may be with the ISA server....but when I try
to access my mailbox internally through the FE server
(http://servername/exchange) the mailbox looks like its opening (the blue
line appears which splits the folders menu and the inbox) but I get the same
error message in both windows:

Page cannot be displayed

404 Not Found - The requested item could not be located. (12028)
Internet Security and Acceleration Server

This isn't my first time deployiong OWA 2003 with this scenario, but this is
the first time I've had this issue and can't find any relevant articles (most
blame ISA, which this obviously isn't). Any comments would be greatly
appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I've got a quick question. We've recently started our migration from 5.5 over to 2003. We've got a few users on the system that have been 'test driving' it. One thing that we've noticed is using Outlook Web Access and attempting to access public folders. When a user clicks the public folder button, it launches a new browser window. On the left hand side, we can see our public folder tree, but nothing will display on the right hand side. Every folder we click on says "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found"

We've gone through and verified that the users do have access to the folders through the Fat client.

Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks!
Dean

User1@domain.com has a mailbox on exchange.

User 1 Outlook is configured to use exchange accounts.
When sending fron scott@externaldomain.com to user2@domain.com , mail arrives.
When sending from user1@domain.com to user2@domain.com i get the error below.

No problem sending email externally from ANYDOMAIN to user2@domain.com.
No problem sending email to any other user from internal to internal.
Occationally when user2@domain.com emails user1@domain.com we can reply to user2@domain.com diretly.
Its almost as if the path for the reply is open for a short space of time, i.e maybe the connection to a service is open for a period of time.
Creating a new email always failes.

Everything is routerd via this single E2k7 service.
Single internal domain user 2003 server AD.

Recent migration from E2K3 to E2K7 saw me migrate USER2 mailbox to E2K7, then back to E2K3, then delete from E2k3, setup a new, delete AD user, create a new AD user with same name, create new E2k7 mailbox. User appeared in disconnected mailbox list in E2k7, was then removed using this link (http://www.mcpblog.net/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=38).

Thank you for any help

I try to using pfmigrate.wsf to migrate public folder from Exchange 5.5 on Win NT 4.0 to Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 Standard Edition but the tool returned an error about the source server is not found. Thanks.

I get the error described in article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;273087
Callback DLL not found

Unable to find the callback library jcb.dll (or one of its dependencies).
Copy in the file and hit OK to retry, or hit Cancel to abort.

It happens exactly as explained here except I have JCB.DLL in the correct
folder and even moved it to c:windowssystem32 and it still doesn't work.
I've tried copying a new file from a different server and even off the SP1 CD
and I keep getting this error no matter what I do.  This is happening on all
servers in the enterprise and I can't find anything obvious.  All servers are
Windows 2003 Enterprise running Exchange 2003 Enterprise with SP1.  Some were
upgraded from Windows and Exchange 2000 and some were fresh installs of 2003
but all get this error.  I have even tried running eseutil on a server
without Exchange but with the ESEUTIL.EXE, ESE.DLL, EXCHMEM.DLL, EXOSAL.DLL
and JCB.DLL in a scratch directory and I get the same error.  The error
always occurrs when the process is about 33% complete.  Please help!

I am running a new Windows 2003 R2 x64 with all Windows updates. Whenever I try to install Exchange Server 2003 Std, I get to the Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services" step and I get the error:

Setup.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because FCACHDLL.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Eventually, it results in the error:

Microsoft Exchange Installation Wizard
Setup failed while insgtalling sub-component Information Store Service with error code 0xC007007E (please consult the installation logs for a detailed description). You may cancel the installation or try the failed step again.

The dll in question is in the C:WindowsSystem32 folder. I copied it to the Windows folder and to the Exchange/bin directory and the problem still occurs. The server is configured with IIS, ASP.NET, SMTP, and NNTP as per the prerequisites. The server is a domain member. Nothing else is installed. I have gone through a totally clean install twice now to no avail. Retrying just loops in place. Cancelling leaves a half-way installed Exchange which can't be uninstalled. All that I can do is Setup /RemoveOrg and then blow away the server completely (to ensure cleanness).

I believe that FCACHDLL.dll is part of the SMTP service (which I've verified multiple times is installed). It gets stuck around the stage of "Configuring registry entries for Information Store Service" and then the popup about FCACHDLL.dll. Then I click OK (the only option) and get the second error where I can click Retry. Then it goes through a step "Stopping the service MSSRCH" and the FCACHDLL error pops up again. It removes the registry entries and then a step about "MSExchangeIS" goes by too fast to read.

In the setup progress log file, I've found that the problem is with registering the DLL C:ExchSrvrbindrviis.dll. Looking at Microsoft KB article http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=888177, I verified atl.dll was registered. I tried to manually register this dll, but I get a LoadLibrary("drviis.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.

I also found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292439/en-us which references exstrace.dll, but it was present. dvriis.dll version is 6.5.6944.0 and is described as the "SMTP Exchange Store Driver - IIS".

Anyone have any ideas?

Has anyone installed Exchange 2003 Server on a Windows 2003 R2 64-bit (Intel) server?

Good evening people, or at least, here it is evening again :(

What turned out to be a nice day ended sitting behind my pc for about 9 hours troubleshooting my fresh installation of exchange 2007 with Server 2008.

Let me start from the beginning describing my problem and then telling you guys ( and girls ) what i have found out so far.

I have installed Server 2008 with the latest updates and so on. Then i installed AD and DNS. Again updates.
Then i installed IIS, but i did not install ASP in the beginning, forgot it.

Then i installed exchange 2007 and after installing the last features it needed i was ready and finished with the installation.

But then it started. As i though i just go to my https://localhost/owa i got a popup where i needed to fill in my credentials for logging in. But to bad, i just got an error.
As i must add, the error is different logging in locally then logging in remotely ( connecting to the web access page owa ).

Locally i get the popup telling me this when i try logging in:

HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found
The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler.

Ok, so then i tried it remotely, after my own pc cause i was working remotely trying to solve this ( not so easy found ) problem.

Error as following:

Server Error

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Ok things i have tried:

I looked at form based authentication at first cause i thought it would be that problem. But no, form based auth was allready active and changing it didn't solve anything.

Then i digged in to the certificates and also trying to connect without ssl. No solution :( Coming back to the cert. I have a godaddy turbo ssl cert and i installed that. No solution ( as i thought but i want to have tested it all ).

Finally i digged in to IIS for some time and googled myself crazy but no solution. I found out that altough handlers are marked as inherited. They don't inheret to my owa folder.
Looking in the server of a friend of mine, he has way way more handlers then me. I dont' have any aspx handler in the owa dir although i have it on the default web site saying inheret.

Thingking back on my asp missclick, by now i have it allready installed but it didn't do anything. No aspx for me in the owa dir. Anyway, i added 1 handler myself but no success still the same errors.

I once had to recreate the whole iis dirs including vdirs with a nice tut from microsoft, but i hope i don't have to do it here or reinstalling some things.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update @ 22:05 ( Dutch Time )
- It has come to a major progress concerning the login to webbased e-mail owa.

What i have done:
- Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory -identity "owa (Default Web Site)"
- New-OWAVirtualDirectory -OWAVersion "Exchange2007" -Name "owa (Default Web Site)"

But, i still get a popup instead of a nice forum based login page. There i still need help.

- And also now all files inhereted, so aspx and so on are also in the owa dir available :)

Very small update @ 00:34
- I think i need to recreate the /exchange dir for the form based auth, people can confirm that? And also, maybe help how to recreate it. Since it is very hard to find out.

Hi all,
i have a problem when i try to find a custom contact in VB6.
here's the code:

"Public oContactFolder As Outlook.MAPIFolder
.
Set oContactFolder = oNS.Folders("Public Folders").Folders("All Public Folders").Folders("My Custom Folder")
.
Dim newitem as Object
Set newitem = oContactFolder.Items.Find("[ID] = '" & .Fields("conto") & "'") "

Where ID is my custom property and conto is the value that i want to search.
The return error is ID property not found.

thanks a lot.

I have a user that is suddenly unable to open a picture file in Outlook. The
user was able to open the same type files last week but is now having the
Application not found error message displayed.
We are on an XP Professional workstation with Office XP installed. The file
type is tif. The tif extension is set to be opened with Kodak Image Viewer.
When the picture is saved to the desktop it opens with no problem.

Looking at previous posts I have checked the registry for the Security
tempory internet folder (OLK19 in this case) and cleaned it out.
We still can no longer open this type of attachement in Outlook.
What else can I do??

Hello, I work in small office and we recently networked all our computers yet
when I went to install Outlook every time I start it up I get the following :

c:documents and settingdaniellelocal settingsapplication
datamicrosoftoutlookoutlook.pst not found.

I hit OK and it then pops a window up, I guess asking me to location the
file I hit cancel then it says

Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The File c:documents and
settingdaniellelocal settingsapplication
datamicrosoftoutlookoutlook.pst not found.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling microsoft, changing my default e-mail
(we use Mozilla Thunderbird for our e-mail) to microsoft but still nothing.
How do I fix this?

Hello,
I'm running Outlook 2003 (About to upgrade to 2007). I have a couple
of "Archive" folders open in my profile. I've opened them in the past
to find some archived mail I was looking for. Now when I right click
on these files and choose "Close Archive Folders" I get an error
message: "The operation failed. Object Not Found."

I've run the "ScanPST.exe" on each of the offending folders and have
repaired errors found, but the behavior still exists. I may just
upgrade to 2007, hoping it's maybe a glitch in 2003.

If anyone has found a suitable solution, I'd appreciate hearing it.

Thanks!
John
