Cannot start Microsoft Outlook 2007. Cannot open the outlook

error has
occured. MAPI was unable to load the information service MSNCON.dll.. Be
sure the
ervice is correctly installed and configured.""

I use hotmail as well

MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll. Be sure the
service is correctly installed and configured

I am trying to set up Outlook 2003 on home computer but keep getting the
following message when trying to open application.
MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll.
Since I am not open to open, I cannot get to the help feature.
Please advise

Windows XP SP2
Outlook 2002
I am receiving the following message when opening Outlook:
"Cannot open your default e-mail folders. An unexpected error has occurred.
MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll. Be sure the
service is correctly installed and configured."

The only thing I could find that match this error was to install MSN
Connector. this did not help. Any advice?

TIA

Just bought a new HP with Windows 7. I'm trying to install a copy of Outlook
2000. I keep getting an error of "WAB.DLL missing" when I try to send
outgoing email. Incoming is working fine. Is there a compatibility issues
with older Outlook and Windows 7? Thanks for your help.

I am installing a full version (not upgrade) copy of Office Pro 2007 on a PC
that used to have Office XP Pro and Office Connector. Before instaling 2007
I uninstalled Office XP and Office Connector using add/remove programs. I
deleted all pst files. The Outlook folder in Program Files was empty. I
wanted a clean install of 2007.

Word, Excel, etc all work fine. The first execution of Outlook runs thru
the "Configuring Outlook" script, starting with "Migrating Account Settings".
This is where the install looks for msncon.dll (error message "Cannot start
MS Office Outlook . . . MAPI was unable to load msncon.dll . . ."). A common
answer in the forum is to install the latest version of Outlook Connector. I
don't want Outlook Connector but the clean install thinks that I do. A scan
of the registry finds references to msncon in
HKEY_CURRENT_Users..WindowsNTCurrentVersionWind ows Messaging
SubsystemProfilesOutlook and also in HKEY_USERS..ProfilesOutlook. This
is old, leftover information from Outlook XP and Office Connector.

Is there a way to purge all the old Outlook / Connector stuff so I can
actually do a clean install?

I purchased outlook at Staples, installed it on my desktop and it worked just
find. Later I puchased a Laptop and instelled the same Outlook on it, but it
dose not work because of the need for this MSNCON.dll, where would I get it?

Downloaded Outlook 2007 Beta and Outlook will not open due to a msncon.dll
file. I think it has to do with Outlook Connector but tried to download it
using MSN but that option is blocked from bing downloaded. Not sure what
could be done to correct this.

Have you downloaded the latest MSN Connector from their site? Or, if not
using it, have you uninstalled it? Try opening Outlook in Safe mode
(start-run-outlook.exe /safe) and go into the Advanced options and uncheck
it from add-in manager or COM add-ins.

when trying to use office 2010 profesional outlook I get the following error message.

Cannot open your default email folder. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall office and the outlook connector with no success. All other Office programs work correctly...

Hello everyone.

I was told to upgrade Outlook Connector but when I did I could no longer open Outlook.  I got a MAPI error having to do with msncon.dll.  When I did a restore to the state prior to the Outlook Connector upgrade I could open Outlook again, but was unable to send/receive hence I only had an old version.  Then I was told once again to upgrade Outlook Connector, and when I did, Outlook was crippled again.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks,

When I click on Outlook, it opens with an error message which reads:

“The Add-in “Outlook Connector Extensions (msncon32.dll)” cannot be loaded
and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for
an update. If no update is available, please uninstall the Add-in.” Then I
click on OK.

The next stage is also an error message which reads:

“Cannot open your default e-mail folders. An unexpected error has occurred.
MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll. Be sure the
service is correctly installed and configured.” Then I click on OK and the
outlook page disappears. Therefore, I am unable to open Outlook.

I have done everything possible. I installed a new version of outlook
connector and I installed the Office 2007 SP1 KB936982 Fulfile-en-us update
which is suppose to take care of the MSNcon32.dll but it has not taken care
of it. Right now I am working with RegCue.

Please note that this problem is on my Windows XP Pro machine and it is not
on my Windows Vista Ultimate machine, the same software installed on both
machines at nearly the same time.

The problem may be related to an invalid entry or incorrect entry in my
Windows Registry and RegCue is confident that it can alleviate this problem
if I do the search explained below.

The SFC program was created to scan all protected files to verify their
versions and replace them if necessary. If SFC determines that a protected
file is corrupt or missing I will be asked to insert my Windows installation
CD.

In order to use the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected
files on my computer I have to click ‘Start Run’ and then in the Open box,
type: sfc /scannow. Then click OK.

I put my Original CD Windows XP Pro into my machine and I clicked on Start
Run typed sfc /scannow, and hit OK. Then the machine asked me for my
windows XP Pro CD which I inserted. Then the machine told me that I had put
the wrong CD into the drive. Therefore, it would not honor the CD and
refused to proceed. I don’t know why it acted this way but it must have
something to do with SP 2 or SP 3. I have a copy of the SP2 disc and I made a
copy of the download from Microsoft for SP3 but I don’t know how to use them.

Nevertheless, I was not able to run the Windows System File Checker Utility
as described in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747. I want to be able to run this scan
if at all possible.

Could you please tell me how to handle the Windows CD problem since it
cannot be viewed to install the files necessary to the scan, or perhaps there
is another way to handle this problem or the Microsoft Outlook problem. I am
not a real experienced operator so you may have to include details if you
want me to understand your instructions.

While trying to defrag a priv1.edb with the command :

Hello,

I am trying to run a Mail Merge using Outlook 2003 address book from within MS Word Professional Edition 2003. I get an error message when I click on data source that tells me that I do not have a file for schdmapi.dll. I ran detect & repair from MS Word because according to other posts I have read, they said this should fix the problem. I also tried to download the free dll file, but then I did not know where to put in on my PC.

Can anyone please help with this problem?

Hi all-
I am getting a error message upon start up of Outlook2000. RarSFXO/Emon.dll
not found. Outlook seems to run fine after clicking OK.
I have googled and not found much info(many references to NOD32 which I am
not using) I am running W2K SP4 fully updated. Fresh install of Office2000
Premium
Outlook setup for internet only. Search of drive found no emon.dll. What
directory on the CD is it located so I can just extract it?

I ported over my Outlook 2000 to a new computer running Vista. It generally
seems to work on e-mails. However, if I try to print an e-mail to store a
contact, I get an error: "cannot find WAB.DLL." I looked on the web and this
seems to be a common Vista problem. I bought for $30 some software which was
supposed to fix it, but it did not help. Any suggestions? Does Microsoft
have a download of this DLL?

I am running a brand new laptop with Vista Home Premium and install Office
Pro Plus 2007 (Full retail).

I can start Outlook once after install, but after that it reports cannot
find MSVCR80.dll when launched from the Quick Launch button. Also if I launch
it from the Start menu, it continually brings up the "Configure Office"
screen and wants to reboot afterwords. If I cancel out of everything and
reboot, it will start once off the Start Menu then that's it.

I have checked the forums and this issue was reported under Office 2007 Beta
2 but never answered by Microsoft.
