What is the future of Outlook?

I have been using Outlook for about ten years and so have a lot of data that
I wish to preserve.

But Microsoft seem to be abandoning Outlook (unless you use are a corporate
user and have Exchange server). I'm a private user - but having online sycn
across a variety of devices is still important to me. This is not possible
with outlook - unless you have Exchange.

So my question is - do I abandon outlook amd move to Windows live mail (with
its shortfalls compared to Outlook)? Or should I hang on to Outlook in the
hope that Microsoft will implement cloud synchronisation for Outlook?

Hi All,

Can some-one explain what is the concept of read-receipt in Outlook 2002 or
higher? How the Exchange server detects and serves the read-receipts?

The problem is some users are getting read-receipts in some delay around
2hours to 1day. The message body shows the read time think around 10AM but
the reipient receives the receipt at 11:30 AM. Why the lag/delay?

Whether enabling read-receipt is a good concept or bad as per Exchange
server is concerned? Any useful link that explains better?

Thanks,
Sekhar

What is the difference of the standard address lists?

MS exchange 2003 has three different address lists.
- “All address lists”
- “All global address lists”
- “Offline address lists”

I am most confused about the “offline address lists”

Hi,
I´ll appreciate you help to clarify me some doubt. I have 3 Storage Group defined in the exchange server, each of this has 3 "MailBox Store" inside.

I´ll appreciate if you can say me what is the use of these records:

SMTP (SRVEXCH-{05B8C2CE-BD4A-4798-AA7E-E67E3BE1C073})(Numbers Change)

Aditionally, one of them MS has a records named:

I have multiple outlook calendars. What is the name of the "original"
calendar set up in outlook? Would that be the calendar that contact
details (e.g. birthdays) are sent to? Is there a way to remove the
original calendar and have one of my other calendars set as the
default?
Thanks

User is trying to connect via VPN to our exchange server. It all works
except it take him 10 min. before it connects. Sent a clean laptop home with
him to try. Works OK, but instead of Connected in the lower right of the
Outlook window, it says Online.

I remember when I first started using e-mail, you could only put one e-mail
address in the To: field. Now you are able to put as many e-mail addresses as
you want in the To: field. So what is the point of "CC:", isn't this function
kind of redundant? Or am I missing something?
