Not the same in OWA and Outlook

When I look into my account by using OWA I can see there are 2 mails in the
Outbox, but they do not appear in Microsoft Outlook. I can't find any copy
in Sent, neither in Outlook, nor in OWA, so my conclusion is they havn't
been sent. Normally I never use OWA, but when on holiday I had to use it.
Can anyone please explain why the mails does not appear in Outlook, and
maybe also why they havn't been sent from OWA?

Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007.

Best Regards

Hans

I ran the restore-mailbox cmdlet and using the following syntax:

restore-mailbox -identity "Test User" -RecoveryDatabase "ArchiveDB" -RecoveryMailbox "Test User" -TargetFolder "Archive"

The recovery database was from a different domain/forest so we had to do the restore to the target folder.  The archiveDB was about 32GB is size and this task was run for all users that were on the old and new database.  The EDB file grew by about 32GB (expected).

I watched the restore-mailbox cmdlet run and saw thousands of messages in the "Moving messages" dialog in the powershell window.  These same mailboxes, however, do NOT have the Archive folder listed in OWA or Outlook.  Where did the mail go?  Why can't those folders be seen in Outlook or OWA?  Only 2 of the 15 users I did the restore with can actually see the folders.

Just getting Exchange setup and now we are configuring various settings. We plan to use message classification and have it configured and running perfectly except for one thing. We can't seem to find out how to force outlook 2010 and OWA on the CAS server to default to one of our message classifications. Any idea where to look in OWA and maybe a registry setting for outlook?

What is the correct procedure for this. I use yahoo email. I prefer
to use outlook at home, so i have pop access. It can not download
from yahoo email folders, and the folder structure is not the same in
yahoo and outlook (would be awfully tedious).

Anyway...when i need to reinstall XP or move to Vista or whatever...if
i export all my outlook data to a .pst file, i then reinstall XP/
Outlook, restore my files...when i reconnect to Yahoo email it
redownloads ALL of my emails and now i have a ton of duplicates...is
there something i should be doing to stop this? Since ive moved a lot
of files in to folders in Outlook its hard to even find all the
duplicates.

I keep my emails left on yahoo in case i need to search for something
while away from home.

I have one user who's OWA and Outlook 2003 Calendar entries not in sync.  The time zones are the same but some of the Calendar entries do not have the same times on both Calendars.  I have moved the user's mailbox to a different storage group but that did not resolve it.

Would you know of a resolution?

For some reason some mail shows up in OWA and not in outlook.  Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what is the best way to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

One user not shown in both owa and outlook ,

How can i trouble shoot ? .Please help

Thank you

For some reason, when I open a new email, it says "Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook".  I have tried registering the ole32.dll by typing "regsvr32.exe ole32.dll" into the run window, but it comes up with error code 0x80070005.  I am logged in to an administrator account, so that's not the problem.  What else could be causing this?

Our company has an exchange server 2003 running on a windows server 2003 domain controller. We have 12 users which are part of AD and have email addresses in exchange.

Why is it that, with some users, ALL their messages are always in owa even after they have downloaded (send/recieve) the messages to their ms outlook clients running on their local laptops.

For others, once they download the messages into outlook they are no longer in owa.

I *think* all messages are being saved on the exchange server... or not... im really not sure and don't really know how to check.

How do i make it so that all messages are saved in exchange server and all messages are available ALL the time in OWA?

Regards,

Michael Crawford.

After our migration from Ex2K Ent to Ex2K3 Ent, it appears that OWA and Outlook 2K3 are using different GALs. All of our AD users are visible in the OWA address book, but not in the Outlook 2K3 address book. I followed the below tutorial, from this site for migrating:

Step-by-Step: Migrating Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 Using New Hardware
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Migrating-Exchange2000-Exchange-2003-Hardware.html

The only change to this procedure was to upgrade our Ex2K Ent FE server to Ex2K3 Ent before installing Ex2K3 Ent on the new hardware (Step III) and we have not yet uninstalled Ex2K Ent from our original Ex2K BE server.

Thanks for the help,

Office 2003 - Exchange 2003. I have one user that is not able to view any
emails when using OWA to check their email. Nothing is there.....none in the
sent folder....none in the deleted box. User has emails on their Outlook 2003
on their computer. I have checked user's rules and they have none set up. Is
Outlook pulling all the emails off and putting them on user's pc therefore
they are not showing up in OWA?.....

What should I be checking?

TIA!

I've been using Outlook 07 with Windows Vista for more than a year. Suddenly,
today, when I "Send" messages into the Outbox, and if I then open the Outbox
while they're still there, they all instantly go from being in italics to
being straight up -- i.e. as if they're still in draft -- and if I do a
Send/Receive, they just sit there.

If I then reopen each one, close the Outbox (e.g. go to the Inbox),
re-"Send" each one, and don't open the Outbox again, they go out as normal on
the next Send/Receive. But if i open the Outbox at all, they all instantly go
back from "italics" to "straight." (I can actually see them changing.)

This is not the same as people writing about items being "stuck" in their
mailbox. Any idea what's going on?

Thanks for reading this.

Since about a month ago (perhaps after we upgraded to exch 2003 sp2, not
sure) there is something wierd going on with our calendars.

If we make an appoinment in web-access the very appointment does not show up
in our normal outlooks. We get the reminder popup though in outlook but not
the actual appointment.

Rather wierd, dont really know what to search for either. Anyone has some
ideas?

We have new versions and such (office 2003, Exchange 2003 sp etc) and there
is no hardware problems on the server. Nothing wrong in the logs as far as I
can tell.

Entourage 2008 (fully patched) and Outlook 2007 (fully patched) with Exchange
2007 (fully patched).

I have some users that can view Free/Busy in Entourage and Outlook 2007 and
some that don't. To be clear, it's not that their free/busy info isn't
available, it's they can't access it for anyone. The specific users have the
problem consistently on any machine. Each Entourage client is setup
identically outside of individual user/account info.

The same accounts that can't view free/busy, fail the Entourage auto account
setup process, but succeed with the Outlook 2007 auto account setup process.
Those that can see free/busy, work with the auto account setup process in
both. Some users in Outlook 2003 can't see free/busy. What a mess.....any
help is appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I hope this is the correct forum. I did not know if I should post here, or in another forum. Please tell me if I should post in a different forum.

The problem is that Outlook wants to deliver IMAP email to a separate PST, not the Outlook.PST, and puts it in a separate "folder".

I first encountered this problem when I set up Outlook 2010, because the automatic configuration of my email accounts set the server to IMAP instead of POP, which is what I previously had used. This would not have been a problem, except that Outlook also created separate PST files and Outlook "folders" for each account. With POP, I had always had all of my email in the same In Box and Outlook.PST, which is what I prefer.

Now, to the present problem. I now have an iPhone, and supposedly IMAP is a better way to manage email between 2 devices (my notebook PC and the iPhone). So, the problem is twofold:

>How do I set up a MobileMe IMAP account in Outlook to deliver email to the Outlook.PST file, and in the main In Box?

and

>How can I change my present Gmail POP accounts to IMAP and have them also delivered to the Outlook.PST file, and the main In Box?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration of my issue.

I'm using a exchange 2003 server for storing my mail. I can view the mail through webmail and outlook. When i sent mails through webmail they are stored in sent items. Then when i start outlook it will synchronize only my Inbox mail but NOT my sent items.
How can get i outlook to synchronize my Inbox and my Sent Items ?

What's the difference between "Automatically process requests and responses from external senders" in OWA and the three options in Outlook 2007 under Resource Schuduling ("Automatically accept meeting requests and process cancellations", "Automatically decline conflicting meeting requests", "Automatically decline recurring meeting requests")?

Does the OWA option include all three of the Outlook 2007 options? Does the OWA version override whatever one sets in Outlook (or vice versa?)

Thanks!

When I sort Sent Items by the To field, I would like to sort by the email
address, not the name in quotes. Since it defaults to the name in quotes,
the dates are out of whack.
ie.
TO Date
"Jane" January
jane@aol.com December
"Jane Doe" November

All the emails are to the same person but some show up by name and others
by email. I want to sort all by the email address regardless of how the name
is displayed.

My hotmail calendar is not the same as the calendar in outlook even though it
appears to be correct

I am getting a lot of spam where the Sender and the Subject contain the same
name. The name varies from email to email, but the symptom remains the same -
i.e. whatever the sender name is, this is repeated in the subject as well.
EXAMPLES
Sender - John Smith; Subject - John Smith writes
Sender - Gill Jones; Subject - Gill Jones writes
Sender - Peter Knight; Subject - Tip from Peter Knight

Can anyone help with some code that will search for a string in the 'From'
and compare it to a string in the 'Subject' . If they match, then move to
delete folder.

Thanks

I want OWA and Outlook 2003 to be sync'd up so that if I open/send a message
in either client, both of them will reflect these actions. Is this possible?
I have some users that will use Outlook 2003 in the office, but sometimes
use OWA when they are away (i.e on vacation, travelling on business, etc).
What is the best way to configure these clients? I am using MS Exchange 2003
Server and have it configured to use POP3 as well as IMAP. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.

Thanks,
