Attachments take a long time to load


Before I got my smart phone I had POP 3 and had no probs opening large vid
attachments. 2-7 MB (Very Fast) or large text attachments in Outlook. Once I
got the Smt. Ph I had to change to IMAP settings and have had numerous probs.
I don't understand why it takes so long to open an attachment or the screen
freezes in Outlook. Do I have a glitch, need to uninstall & reinstall, I
think the install disk has a repair option go that route? Or is it just
because this is a Gmail account which I have heard can give you fits. My ISP
server is Clearwire.

We recently updated a desktop to Outlook 2003 running XP Pro. The client uses
a Blackberry as well. Now the Calendar takes a very long time to load and
when the client tries to open a personal folder Outlook runs a check on the
folders. Any input?




I am running Outlook 2007 and most times when I open Excel attachments, it's takes a long time to open.  It only affects Excel attachments.




When adding/modifying/deleting any user from AD, my GAL takes a long time to
reflect the change.

For example if I were to create a new account or simply modify a phone
number on someones AD account, the GAL would take HOURS to update.

Any ideas?




I use outlook to connect to my hotmail account.

When a see a new e-mail message and click on it, it takes a long time to
display the message. This usually amounts to about 20 seconds.

My OS is vista. I use Outlook 2007.

Any possible solutions?

Suddenly, it takes a long time to send a message from writing it to the
Outbox in MS Outlook 2003.

of the messages that I compose take the normal time, about second while
the other half take about 15 seconds to send.

I am writing about messages that do not have graphics and/or a lot of text.

Why do about half of my messages take so long to send and how can I fix
things so the messages are all sent in a timely manner?

he tries to open the attachment, it can take literally a minute, up to
a minute and a half before the file opens, and we're only talking a
single page of text.

When he forwards the email to me, I can open it almost instantly.

As far as software goes, we're all on Office 2003 Small Business
(using cached exchange mode), Win XP with all updates, and AVG
Enterprise 7.x antivirus. The systems are Dell Optiplex 745's with
Core 2 chips and at least 1Gb of RAM.

For all intents and purposes, this user shouldn't be having any issues
with opening the files. Is there some way to find out what attachments
take so long to open?

Today it takes a long time to open messages in Outlook 2003. What could be
the reasons?

Hi;

We have an AddIn in C# (IExtensibility) and the main dialog in it takes a
long time to come up the first time. I've run it under the profiler and it's
not our code. Any idea as to what it can be?

Bringing up the AddIn does cause 8 DLLs to be loaded, some C#, some J#. The
are all strongly named and signed.

e-mails with attachments or graphics (logos, etc.) in the body of the e-mail take a long time (1 minute) to open.  Doesn't take long to load.

I am noticing that Outlook is very slow to open emails with background images which are placed into the body tag of a message. Usually when I create an email marketing campaign I give my email message a background picture by placing markup similar to the following into the body tag;




This just started happening. I have Vista and office 2007, neither of which
I like, but lately when I click on a link from Outlook it takes forever to
load on IE. If I open IE and copy and paste the link it opens right up. Is
there a setting that I inadvertently changed or can change to fix this? It
wasn't happening prior to a few weeks ago so I am thinking I changed
something or some update changed something. Please help.




Hello, I got a user with an exceptional big mailbox (around 2GB) running
Outlook 2003 in cached mode and he complains that he often gets the error
message "The mailbox datafile was not closed properly and must be checked for
errors" which takes quite a long time due to sheer size of the file.
The user is using a laptop with a dockstation and complains that the problem
often occurs when he undocks the computer so do you have any ideas what might
cause the problem with the mailbox datafile and how to prevent it in the
future?

Exchange takes too long time to shut down or boot up.. is there a way to
speed this up. any tools, any methods, or prsedure i can use?

We are migrating from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2007 (and then eventually 2010). In the meantime however, I need assistance with some issues I'm seeing in my Exchange 2007 cluster. I have an active/passive node configurations throughout my organization and notice this behavior on each node. Currently, the Exchange 2007 system is completely empty, with no user data in the system.

When I failover from one node to the other, the process initially takes a long time to complete (about 6-7 minutes). The majority of the time (about 4 minutes) is spent during the verification portion of the move.

It's not consistent. Sometimes the failover happens quickly. Other times it takes a while. It seems that the failover takes a long time if I wait a while before failing over (i.e. if I wait 8-10 hours, then I experience the long failover time, vs subsequent failovers within 2-3 hrs).

Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?

Can anyone please tell me why my OE6 is taking 2-3 minutes to open and if
there is a fix to solve this issue? The program just hangs on the splash
screen for several minutes until the Inbox finally appears. It started to be
a problem after I recently installed the 2008 Trend Micro Internet Security
software. I'm not sure if this what caused it or not as the 2007 version
didn't cause this problem.




When I create a new AD user (W2K) with an Exchange (2000) mailbox, it takes
a long time ( sometimes 1 day) before I can use it in Outlook.
Untill that time it is not vissible in my OL adresslist and I can not use
the e-mailadres.
Even a restart of the Exchange services does not help.

How can I solve this problem?
