Incoming Messages in HTML Garbled, = signs inserted

Very strange problem, hoping someone can help...
Exchange 2007 SP2 on Windows server 2008 SP2. Small network, 1 Exchange server, 10 users.
Recently, and only for SOME users, messages that are in RTF or HTML format get garbled.
The users it seems to affect are newer ones, ones made after a certain date.
Mostly they have an = sign followed by a space dispersed throughout the message.
Interestingly, my signature (its in HTML) always has the "= " in the same spot.
Plain text seems to come through fine (ie sent from Yahoo mail in plain text format).
BUT if i telnet to port 25 of the server, and send messages that way, there are no extra characters, but part of the messages is lost, sometimes the whole body of the message.
Also, it doesn't matter how I view the message - Outlook or OWA.

I've run diskscans, SFC, Applied SP2 and the Rollup.
BTW if i make new users they definitely have the problem.
Any ideas?

About one half of my incoming messages are suddenly being received in Plain
Text format, and I must "Edit Message"/ "Change format" to HTML to read them.
Why did this start to happen? Didn't Outlook automatically convert them to
HTML? Or, why can't I read them in Plain Text? It is annoying to change
format so often now.
Is there a default setting I can set up?
Thanks for your help, in advance.

incoming messages in html have a background color, can't find where to change
this. This is only incoming and stationary is set to none.

I want to see the message in HTML. I don't want to see the link that would
bring in the information from an http:// location, I want it to bring it into
the message automatically. I know how to change the message from text to
HTML manually, but I want to do it automatically.

I am trying to view an HTML Email and part of the email has links to
whitelist delete or Deliver suspected SPAM. The links that are supposed to be
there are not. I am assuming this is due to the fact OE is not seeing this
email as an HTML email. I tried to click on the View Menu and Choose "Message
in HTML" but the option is not on the view menu. Is there an option somewhere
where I need to turn this on?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am using Office Outlook 2007 at home and at work. At home I connect to the university outlook exchange server through a vpn. I just started this at home last week. Now both at home and at work all messages in my inbox are shown as plain text, which makes viewing some messages difficult. I still can compose messages in html.

Neither at work or at home do I have the box checked to "read all standard mail in plain text" in tools/trust center/Email security.

This issue persists at work now even if I have my home computer completely shut down.

I looked around the forum a little but couldn't find anything on this. Thank you for any help.

My father-in-law is having an Outllook Express problem.
He uses Outlook Express on Microsoft XP SP3.
When he tries to print a message, it prints in HTML code.
When he clicks on a link in the message, nothing happens.

Seems like an HTML text vs. Plain Text problem, but his settings are OK.
Right now he has HTML checked for all incoming mail. Since December 24 2008
the messages are coming in looking like Rich Text, but Hyperlinks are
unusable and when printed, they become an unreadable HTML code.

I did several searches and found this:
http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=175322

This seems to be the problem exactly, but the solution does not apply. When
checking file associations, there are no .TMP files on the list. The article
suggests that somehow .TMP files have been associated with a text editor
(Notepad). It makes perfect sense, but I can find any such association. I
checked Windows Explorer and then through File Associations in Control Panel.

If it's any help... I was there that day, (probably caused the problem), and
helped him with 2 files that he had downloaded from a Word Doc. The were from
Norway and needed a Powepoint Viewer to be seen. I downloaded the viewer and
associated the files with it. Today, I had him Remove that program along with
an Amazon mp3 file downloading app, as they were the only changes made that
day.

Since I am trying to help him "over the phone", it's been frustrating. I'm
hoping there is an easy fix, that I'm not aware of. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

This morning I installed some updates from Microsoft. I shut down my
computer and came to work. When I went into Outlook 2000 to get my mail all
the new incoming messages are in plain text format. I have always received
my messages in html format. My Inbox show the message subject but not who it
is from or the brief intro it use to show me. I find it very difficult to
read my mail this way because everything is jumbled together. Please help.

Hello

I am using outook 2003, how do I change all incoming messages to HTML
format, the reason I have a logo in my signature, and it will not show if I
am replying to a message was sent in plain text or rich text.
I know how to change an individual message, I need an option to change all
messages.

Thanks

I get internet headers at the start of some messages in Outlook 2003. These
are the same headers that you get if you right click on a message in the
message list and then select Options. But the header is inserted as text at
the start of the message. This only happens with certain messages (always
from the same senders). I'm guessing that it only happens with messages in
html format or in rich text, but whatever format was intended, it seems to
have been lost somewhere in transit. Sometimes the message text has embedded
codes such as =20. Often there is more gibberish code at the end.

This problem started at the same time that I upgraded from a Windows XP
computer to a new Vista computer, but I don't see how this would be the cause
since I was using Outlook 2003 before and after. I have gone over the Outlook
options over and over trying to find some relevant option that I might have
accidentally changed, but I can't find anything.

I hope someone can explain this and tell me the solution. Thanks.

Bruce

When composing messages using HTML format in Outlook 2002, I would like to
know how to change the style definition for "Paragraph" style.

I get my messages on one computer in HTML but on the other only some of the
messages are in HTML. I have Outlook 2007

I just switched to Outlook 2002. Now all my incoming messages are plain
text, not HTML. How can I read them as HTML. It was working correctly
on 2000.

Thanks,

Peter

When replying to or forwarding a Plain Text email message, my font defaults
to the Plain Text font (Consolas, Regular 11.5) despite the facts that I have
selected HTML, and have established my preferred font and colour in the
Tools, Options, ...Stationery & Fonts, Personal Stationery tab, Replying and
Forwarding Messages.
How can I get it to automatically choose my preferred font and colour when
replying to or forwarding Plain Text messages in HTML?

I am receiving emails, in HTML, or in RTF, but all of them are displayed as
plain text. I see no images, no colors, no strings... I've already tried
unchecking the box that says do not download images autimatically in messages
with HTML format or in RRS messages.
Can anybody help me?

Hi,
My next question is:-
Since the latest security upgrade, is there a way of resetting outlook 2003 so i can view all incomming messages as HTML in the reading pane and not plain text ??????
Regards charlie

Some of the incoming messages are in a different font than others.
But when these messages are forwarded they look normal (arial, etc.)
to the recpients. Also, not all incoming messages have the font
(gothic something.) They look normal. How can I make them all have
the same font? thanks.

I am having problems with outlook 2007.

We as a company are running a email marketing campaign and when we send a text email to my email address, the email just displays text.  I have tested the same HTML email on other version of Outlook and it seems to work fine.

When i recieve the email it goes into my Junk folder, when i right click on the blue bar, it only give me an option to move it to the inbox.  However on other PC with outlook 2007, it give the option to display the message in HTML.

I have made some changes in the trust centre, under the email securties section, but the same problem still exists.

Can someone please help me!

Thanks
