Can't get emails from certian domains

WE have exchange 2007 and for some reason we can't get email from some of our
servers that reside in our DMZ with different domains. Usually sent straight
from those servers, my external yahoo account gets emails just fine.
Its like those emails aren't ever seen by the exchange server..

It's also the case with another domain where they have exchange 2007 also,
we don't recieve email from them as well. but we do get outside emails just
fine.

Any help would be great..

I have one user that is getting email from other domains to users that are not part of our domain. Emample: his email is user@domain1.com. He gets email from user5@domain6.com, user6@domain7.com. This comes after he tried to remove he name from a mailing list (this may have just been timing). But it seems that there is an incorrect DNS entry somewhere. I have a firewall that protects my server and I have relay prohibited. (this is something that I have checked to make sure it is working). The wierd thing is, is that he is the only user getting these emails. I have blocked some of the domains from sending to the excahnge server, but some of these domains are business critical. Any suggestions.

All of a sudden my exchange box is not getting mails from some domains. Nothing was changed on my end. I rebooted the server, I can telnet from outside, the processer is at avg 5%, I have avail memory, event logs are clean. I can get any emails from yahoo.com, uk domains and some others. I can get from google.

I also checked if the server as blacklisted. It's clean.

Please advice.

I have an Exchange 2003 server that receives Internet emails from several domains (telia.com, home.se, euromail.se and gmail.com) but is not receiving any emails from several other domains.
I got a log file from a mailserver that can't send me emails, it looks like this:

Hi Guys

i have 2 windows 2003 severs running exchange 2003. my lab consists of only 2 machines connected to a
regular switch. i want to be able to send an email from 1 domain to another but before i can configure routing group connectors between both exchange servers i need the networks to see each other first.

my plan is to install another network card in both machines and hook them up with a cross over cable and add static routes with the route print command. what do you guys think? i'm trying to get the most out of my 2 computer LAN.

If anyone  can help me or guide me in the right direction with this issue  I would  apprceiate the help.. 

here is my issue:

 
We have a member on our board of directors that is unable to receive email from our domain to his hotmail account.    I’m running Exchange 2003 on windows server 2003. I have used  the tracking tool in exchange 2003 to track the messages being sent to his email address.
 
I can see the messages being transferred to the hotmail mail servers, but when this user attempts to view the email in his inbox it does not show up.  I initially thought this might be a junk email setting or a spam filter problem, but I created a test email account for myself  and conducted several tests.  I sent email from my work email address to the  test hotmail address but the email never appears in the hotmail inbox.  I also sent email from my own personal Comcast account and the email was received in the hotmail inbox. 
 
I have also used SMTPDIAG to troubleshoot this problem and all the tests in this utility passed.  I have also checked to make sure that our public IP address is not blacklisted which  it is not.
 
I submitted a support ticket last week regarding this issue but I have not received a status if this ticket was reviewed. 
  
 I have also involved an engineer from our ISP and he agrees with me that the email is being delivered to the hotmail  email servers.
 
My organization does not have any SPF records created ,  could this be a problem ?
 
If anyone has any thoughts please let me know. Im also  trying to contact hotmail.com directly  but there is no phone number  to contact them.  I called microsoft directly but they told me that  they have no numbers for them just the  hotmail support web page.
 
 
 

I am not receiving email from one domain. This is a customer and we have not had issues until a week ago. Nothing changed on our end. It appears the connection is getting dropped or lost on our end. In my smtp log I get:

RCPT and DATA are missing. They have an ironport that gives this message: SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:wrong version number.

We are having trouble with 2 specific domains on inbound emails to our
Exchange 2003 server. No email is being delivered from domain1.com and from
domain2.com, our users are able to receive emails from some specific
mailboxes only. SMTP logs show EHLO, MAIL FROM, RCPT TO from domain1.com,
then instead of seeing DATA or BDAT, we see QUIT exactly after 5 minutes.
Same thing happens for specific mailboxes from domain2.com. We have disabled
all connection filtering, checked the blocked senders lists and Sender
Filtering option under "Message Delivery" about 10 times so far just to be
sure there was nothing from domain1.com and domain2.com in there. Nothing in
our firewall is blocking these domains. We have no other issues with
receiving emails from other domains. Exchange 2003 was fine till Thursday
last week. Network admin does not recall doing anything stupid to land us in
this predicament! We see repeated EHLO, MAIL FROM, RCPT TO, QUIT from the
mails that should have been delivered so it appears that repeated attempts
are being made to deliver these emails. A few times, we were able to
intercept the Queue folder from Mailroot and were able to open up EML files
to ensure that these are indeed some of the "missed" emails which are being
re-tried every now and then. There are no errors in event viewer and none of
the Queues in the ESM show any stuck emails. Today, after analyzing message
headers of the users in domain2.com whose mails we do receive, we had other
users configure Outlook to send their emails to us using pop.domain2.com
instead of smtp.domain2.com and viola! Emails started coming in. Obviously,
this is not a solution to OUR problem. The friendly users in domain2.com also
use a web interface for their emails (not OWA) and mails sent from their web
interface also come in fine. We have turned on diagnostic loggic with all
categories set to "Maximum" for MSExchangeTransport but nothing gets logged
in the Event Viewer when the QUIT occurs after 5 mins from EHLO. Any clues?

I am having a problem where we cannot receive emails from one domain.

we can send them emails however we cannot receive emails from th particular
domain. when they do send an email it usally arrives with a 14-18 hour delay.

they can connect on port 25 to our exchange and get the following.

I am having a strange problem (at least it is to me). I have incoming email
from 1 particular domain that is causing me problems. Any user in that domain
can send an email to any user in my domain as long as there is no attachment,
in particular a pdf file as an attachment. If they attach a pdf file it is
not delivered to my users. I know we are accepting email from this domain,
because like I said as long as there is no attachment it comes through fine.
I also know that we do not block pdf files, we get them all the time from
other senders. I had an email with a pdf attached send to me at another
domain and it came through just fine. I even scanned it for a virus, none.
I am totally baffled on this one.
Can someone please offer me some help. I would greatly appreciate it !!!

The CEO of the company is giving me greif over emails that aren't getting through to someone. I have sent test emails from our domain and I get no response. When I send to this user from my private email I get a response. I have checked the message tracker and it says that the emails are succesfully transfered to their mail server from our domain. Ther person checked with their IT department and they are telling ther person that it must be our end they aren't filtering us etc.
Can anyone tell me what could be causing this issue from our end? I figured if the message tracker shows that the message was succesfully delivered to their server it would have to be something on their end. But they are saying its our end. I don't know what I could investigate from here.

i cant receive any email from my yahoo account or hotmail..i get the usual
"failure to delivery" notice....but if i send from microsoft outlook to my
yahoo or hotmail....it reaches with no problem....i can get email from
outlook, but i cant reply back. anyone know why?

I have Microsoft Office 2003 and I cant seem to get email notification
working in Microsoft Outlook. I cheched the help center and tried the
following -
ToolsOptionsEmail OptionsAdvanced Email Options
The following checkboxes are all checked, but I still cant get email
notification.
Play a Sound; Briefly Change the Mouse Cursor; Show an Envelope Icon in the
Notification Area; and Display a New Mail Desktop Alert.
I tried the preview and it worked, but then sent a test message to myself
and also one from my hotmail account but there were no email notifications.
Is it supposed to display a notification even when Im not working in Outlook ?
Surely theres something I've missed, hope you guys can help me out with this
one.

I have a problem I am lost on. I have one Exchange user that doesn't receive
email from certian people outside the office over internet email, but other
people in the office can receive from those people. It doesn't appear to be
any specific email domain they have issues with, as they can receive from
other people from the same domains. They haven't setup any rules or anything
to block them, it's not going to junk mail, all spam filters are turned off
for the user.

Any suggestions or advice would be really appreciated!!

Lately I added reverse dns to my ip address because I was unable to send email to aol, yahoo, hotmail. , now I am able to send mail to yahoo, hotmail, aol, but now I cant receive email from these domains

I have an exchange 2003 server in a Win 2k3 environment.
The thing is that i see loads of emails from other domains trying to be sent through my exchange server, as well as postmaster@mydomain.com, making other emails to be sent queued.

We are running Exchange Server 2000 in a mix 2003 and 2000 AD domain. we can
send email to external (internet) domain but we cannot receive emails from
external domains. Will anyone one be able to help me with this?

I don't want to extract the emails, I just want to search the entire IS and generate some sort of report on what users have emails from certain domains. Once the report is generated the next step will be to extract the messages (but leave them in tack on the server).

any ideas?

Hi all I am trying to figure out why one of our users cant recieve email (from hotmail account) through outlook, she is the only one in the office that is having this problem. I have tried doing a diagnostic and nothing is working. Can anyone help. seems like its a synchronizing issue

Already reinstalled the outlook connector too

I have tried everything but still cannot get emails from some senders. Mail
does not end up in junk mail. I have made the email of the sender secure. I
just does not show up nor does it show up as undeliverable in the senders box.

How can I resolve this.

Suddently all new users are not able to receive email from outside.  First we had the problem with a new user; we created couple more dummy users to test and all are not able to get mail from outside.  We can send emails to these users but outside such as gmail or yahoo got a failure message when try to send emails to them.  The problem happens to the new users only; existing users have no problem to receive emails from outside.  Below are the failure message from gmail and yahoo.

from gmail:
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
    dummytest@company.com
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.7.1 Unable to deliver to (state 14).

from yahoo:
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 Unable to deliver to
Giving up on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

I've looked at the Default Recipient Policy, the Email Address (Policy) tab has correct rules for the addresses. 

I've rebooted the Exchange server (2003 Ent with SP2) but the problem still stays.  What is wrong here?
