Outlook 2007 Spelling Dictionary

When spell checking an email, no spelling suggestion for the word appears
despite it being in the custom dictionary. "stromwater" is typed; however
there are no suggestions listed and "stormwater" is in the dictionary. Why
wouldn't "stormwater" be listed as a suggested spelling?

My apology if I’m posting in wrong section of the forum. Just don’t know where to ask this question.
We have experienced some unexpected operation with Outlook 2007 spell check. We only have Office Pro 2007 installed i.e. no outlook express etc.
When replying to a text only format email, the spell check appears to work and fix errors in the new text but the actual email sent is the text prior to the spell check (i.e. without corrections). This has been tested on a number of computers with Office 2007 and all have the same bug. We have found that if the email format is changed to HTML before sending, the spell check works as expected.
Also have found that the spell check stops unexpectedly part way through a new HTML email. Not sure whether this is a function of the number of errors or size of email.
Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms or found a fix?

Hi,

Windows XP laptop running office 2007 SP1.
Outlook spelling has just stopped working. I have tried fixing the proofing in the registry. I have rebuilt the whole outlook profile in the registry.

But Outlook 2007 spelling still does not work. It will show mistakes and then just go through and say spelling is ok meanwhile there are mistakes.

I am going to rebuild his outlook profile to see if that fixes it. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Baza

Outlook 2007 Spell Check works fine for me EXCEPT IN THE FOLLOWING CASE.
When I resend a message (Atcions > Other Actions > Resend This Message) the
message body is spell checked in English, but the Signature is spell checked
in Spanish!

Where is the setting to fix this??

I am wondering if anyone else is having issueswith Outlook 2007 spell check?

I have Outlook 2007 setup with an exchange account and two POP accounts.
Everthing works exactly like it should except the spell check feature.

Spell check is set correctly to prompt to change missed words (those
underlined in red) before sending out emails. This only works correctly for
the exchange account. If you mis-spell a word using the POP accounts it
will be underlined in red pointing out that it is misspelled but I am never
prompted to change it, the email just sends right out.

I have tried an office repair and uninistall/reinstall all to no avail.

Any idea's and I would be very thankful.

In Outlook 2007, when I run a spell check on an email message, the
"Add to Dictionary" button is grayed out. Same thing in Word. Has
anyone else had this issue? I do have a custom dictionary defined
(custom.dic). Thanks,

Ross

The spell checker in outlook 2007 doesn't work. When there are mispelled
words (corrrect - rwong, etc.), the spell checker just runs through and says
"Spell check complete" without catching any of the mispelled words.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? It is a big
problem - would really like to have spell check work on email messages.

Thanks for any input.

I use "check grammar with spelling." When I press F7 in Outlook 2007
(12.0.6212.1000) on an email reply, it will check my reply as well as the
original message including the space after the end of the FROM: line until
the SENT: It will also try to correct spelling errors that existed in the
original message.

Office 2007 PRO is installed
This behavior did not occur in Office 2003 or prior.

Is there a setting I have wrong or a patch I missed?

I installed Outlook 2007...I am currently running Windows XP with Word 2002.
Spell check doesn't work when emailing in Outlook. I've searched the blogs
here and elsewhere and tried everything and it still doesn't work. How can I
get Outlook 2007 to spell check properly? I am at my wits end and will dump
it if I can't resolve it.

Thanks in advance...

My spell checker is not working in my local copy of MS Outlook 2007.
I have selected as the default the option to spell check all emails before
sending them.
In most cases it does NOT do it.
Any advice on how to fix this?

I am using outlook 2007 on Windows XP sp2 and spell check does not find
misspelled words. Spell check works fine in word, jsut not in Outlook. Any
suggestions?

Using Outlook 2007, no Word 2007 installed. Windows XP Pro/SP3

Problem: I cannot get the auto spell check to work. It does not underline
mispelled words, or bad grammer, when typing. Many options for Spell check
are grayed out in options. It does spell check when I send or hit F7.

We need that funcionality that has exsted since Outlook 2000.

Outlook 2007 running on Windows XP Home. The user is on a profile created
from the server.
When he is writing an email in outlook it doesnt spell check it at all.
It looks like its still on in the options.
Outlook new messages still checks the grammer of a message but not the
spelling of the words.
Please help.

Thanks!

Our company has been working on an Outlook AddIn using VSTO which has a
number of issues which we have not been able to resolve yet.

We would appreciate any insight or assistance you can offer.

Our AddIn uses CommandBarButton.Execute() to trigger a spell check before
continuing to run its own code which eventually pops up a .NET form. In the
Outlook 2003 version, this works fine. In the Outlook 2007 version of the
AddIn, the code does not wait for the spellcheck to be completed before
continuing to run, which results in our .NET form appearing over the top of
the spellcheck window instead of appearing after it closes. How can we get
the form to only popup once the spell check has been finished/closed?

Thank you for your advice.

There is a bug in the spell checker for Outlook 2007 when "check spelling on
send" is selected. The spell checker goes thru the text and changes are
made. However, when the file is sent to the outbox, all of the error return.
Does anybody have a fix for this?

Hi,

I'm using Outlook 2007 and the spell check stopped working. It no longer
underlines mis-spelt words and when I click the button to check the
spelling, it tells me that there are no spelling mistakes when there clearly
are.

Spell check works fine in Word 2007, it's only when composing & replying to
email in Outlook 2007.

Any ideas on getting this working again are appreciated.

I have searched the internet for a solution but none of the solutions offered work.  Here is my environment:

XP Professional, Office 2007 including Outlook 2007

I have checked "ignore original message" and I do NOT have any prefixes set (for the original message) and I am NOT using any grammar checking.  My email format is HTML but I have tried rich text and plain text with no luck.  The install was an upgrade from Office 2003 (which did not have this problem).  Basically, no matter what I try, outlook will ALWAYS spell check the original message.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I accepted the lower case letter i as a word in error on my Outlook Custom
Spelling Dictionary.
This is a typing error I often make and would like to delete 'i" from the

I don't have the auto correct feature available on my emails that are going out. I am talking about the wavy red line that indicates when you have spelled a word wrong. I also am not able to add words to a custom dictionary.

I have office 2003 and only have outlook 2007.

I have gone into the options and added a new custom dictionary and it still does not work. There was a dictionary there before but it did not work either.

Can someone please help me figure out how to get auto correct to work on my machine?

Thanks,

As most people, I use the Auto Spell Check to check all emails that I send out in my Windows 2007.

Recently, if I mispell a word in an email, the spell check window pops up, does its spell check, suggests other spellings for the words I have mispelled but now it locks me out of my ability to click "Ignore All" or "Add to Dictionary".  Instead, I can only choose "Undo Edit" or "Cancel".

Once I click on one of those buttons, the next pop up window I receive says:  "The spelling check was stopped before it was finished, do you want to send it anyway?"

It appears as if my Outlook 2007 does not see my spelling dictionary in my computer when it checks my emails because my spell check works just fine in MS Word.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem in my Outlook 2007 so my Spell Check will work correctly again?

Thanks so much!
