How remove primary account from outlook 2010

Hi,

I have 3 accounts setup in Oulook 2010 Beta, 2 Microsoft Exchange ones and 1 IMAP one. Now I want to remove 1 of the Microsoft Exchange accounts (because it is closed). And when I go to the Account settings, select the account and click remove I get the following notice:

Quote:

The primary account cannot be removed unless it is the only account in the profile. You must remove all other Exchange accounts before removing the primary account.

I can remove the other Exchange Account, but I dont want to as I want to continue to use it. How can I remove the primary account? (BTW: What is a primary account? Is it because this account was added first to the profile or something?

Thanks a lot in advance

I am getting Error 0x00040820 in Outlook 2010 when trying to Send and Receive through a specific email account.

I have Office 2010 installed on Windows 7 (both 64Bit versions) and in Outlook I have some POP email accounts and 2 windows live email accounts set up. The problem only exists for 1 of the 2 @live.co.uk email accounts and happens every time I do a Send and Receive.

Initially I thought it was a sync issue, so removed the account from outlook then added it again but it hasn't got rid of the errors.

This is the latest item in my Sync Issues folder (which I only found out about when googling the error code just now), I can't make sense of the error:

Okay, my school has set up a Student email account for me. According to the
info page to access it I am supposed to access it thru MS Exchange Lab. Is
there a way to add that account to Outlook 2010 or must I access it only via
online. It's only a pain because I already have a regular windows live login
so I'm always having to log out of one to log into the other. It would be
nice if there was a way I could access, download and keep my school
account/folders/emails seperate from my regular account, using Outlook.

Thanks in advance for any help in this

I recently upgraded from Office 2007 to Office 2010. I have a couple of macros which are still available in Project1-Module1(VBAProject.OTM) but they silently fail from my custom quick launch icons in the new message dialogue. I can load VBA, but when I click Run I get a message box saying that all macros are currently disabled and to check help. I have read about the Outlook 2010 security documentation but can't find a copy of it (broken links). Does anyone know how to enable macros in Outlook 2010 please? Changing the values in Trust Centre doesn't have any effect. Many thanks

Hello:

A person brought me her new PC and she told that on her old PC Outlook 2010 had different tabs.

She says that for example the "Review" tab is missing.

So my question is how can you add/customize the menu tabs from Outlook 2010?

Thanks and help is greatly appreciated

Hi all,

Looking for help to set default view for the public folder for all users from outlook 2010 64bit. In outlook 2003, there was administration tab from where you can set the default view of the folder for all the users. There was option called " Initial view on Folder" and you can choose your view like by category or by subject or customised category you created from view | Current View | Define View.

But in outlook 2010, it allows to create new view from the view tab on the ribbon | go to change view and manage views. Here you can create your view. When you select new it prompts "Can be used on" and I selected This folder, visible to everyone. Then I set the view and publish the view. When you publish, it prompts "Are you sure you want to publish the view "name" ? You changes will be visible to all users of this folder"

After I gave time to synchorise, I can see other users have view under change view tab on outlook 2010 but it does not force other users the view I selected. I would like to know as administrator how can I force or set the view of particular public folder to all default users who has only reveiwer access.

Thanks in advance.

I am trying to set up my personal and business email accounts on outlook 2010.  With old versions you had to "click" which one you wanted to use then it would ask for the password and you would only see those emails.  I do not want anyone else to view my work emails.  How can I set this up?

Hi, I'm having difficulty accessing my hotmail account from Outlook 2010. Last week I bought Office 2010 Professional Retail, installed Outlook Connector and everything worked fine till this Sunday. Now I'm getting these error messages:

Task 'jimm98y@hotmail.com' reported error (0x8004102A) : 'Error with Send/Receive.  There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error : 80041004.'
Task 'jimm98y@hotmail.com' reported error (0x80004005) : 'Network operation failed'

These are not the only errors I'm getting, sometimes I get something like "Unable to sign to your Windows Live account" and when it started, I got a new message in "Sync Issues" folder containing an error log.

I tried reinstalling Outlook Connector, removing my hotmail account and adding it back and even restoring Complete PC Backup I created the day I installed new Office (when everything worked fine). Strange is, that usually once a day it works - I get my email, but when I hit Send/Receive button few minutes later, It shows an error. I tried using Windows Live Mail 2011 on the same PC and it worked fine yesterday, but now I'm getting this error:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (jimm98y) account.

Server Error: 0x80072EE7
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80072EE7

I didn't rename any folders on my Live account. The only thing that could be related to that problem is that I configured Exchange access to Hotmail on my Windows Mobile 6.1 Phone, but maybe it's just a coincidence, Hotmail was having some problems when it happened. My Hotmail folders are: Inbox, Junk, Drafts, Sent, Deleted. When I searched for that issue I got answers such as reinstall Outlook Connector, Remove/Add Hotmail account, check the names of folders on your Hotmail or check your system date and time. None of these answers solved my problem. Could anybody help me with this problem, please?

I am getting error 4202 when trying to access my hotmail account in Outlook 2010 using Hotmail connector 32-bit:

'Task {removed email address} reported error (0x80004005): There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your account is configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web. Error: 4202.'

Where do I go to 'configure' my account?

System:
-------------------------------------------
Windows 2003 Standard edition with SP 1
Exchange 2003 Enterprise edition with SP 1
--------------------------------------------

There is an unknown account listed in the security tab of any exchange
object "S-1-5-21-3284365280-167940363-293429907-1159"
It can't be removed it because it's inheriting permissions from its
parent.
i tried to remove the account using ADSI Edit from the security tab and
wait few minutes for the replication to happen but it still shows in
the exchange system manager.
i searched the registry for the Unknown Account sid and found a key
under
HK_LocalMachineSystemCurrentControlSetServices MSExchangeSAPrivate
is it save to edit the value-data and remove it from there?

i have checked that key in the current state and also after unchecking
allow inherintable permissions and manually removing the account from
the system manager.
is there any side effects if i edit this value manually??
is there a safe way to remove this account without unchecking "allow
inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object and
all the child objects") ???

Does anyone have a solution ??

Thanks

PS. The server is running smoothly with no errors.

Hi.
I have got problem where contacts are deleted when I remove exchange account from PDA with windows mobile 5,6.

Can it be configured that contacts will stay and will not be removed?

If an email account is set up in outlook on a server and I delete that
account from Outlook will my emails all be saved? The reason I asked is since
the account has been on Outlook I can no longer access it through normal web
mail. I am able to access the account but the inbox is empty. I want to
delete it from Outlook so I can access it via web when necessary but not at
the expense of the emails in the account right now (there are many).

Thanks in advance for your help.

Anyone know how get my data from outlook 2000 on a Windows XP machine into
outlook 2007 on a Windows Vista machine?

i want to know How To Recover Password From Outlook?

Hello All,
Is there any way to convert or direct copy messages and attachments from
Outlook 2010 (Technical Prewiev) to stable Outlook 2007?

Dear Microsoft,

Why have you remove SIS (Single Instance Storage) features from Exchange 2010? My all customers are complaing that due to removal of this features my disk space will consume more space because SIS just keep pointer record for all attachment size which is send to multiple users in Exchange 2010.

I have gone through technet document and on that you have mentioned that only message header will be compress and not for attachment compression.  Is there any specific reason for removing this features from Exchange 2010 ?

One more complain from my all customer that Microsoft Documentation is so bad because they are just giving the text based document not attaching the screenshot.

So i would like to suggest Microsoft documentation team please preapre such types of document on which screenshot also included becasue most of world wide Consultant, Architect and engineers are like such types of document on which  screenshot Included.

Please change your documentation format its my request so that everybody can learn Microsoft Technology very easily and can Implement product their own company. It will increase Microsoft business productivity. Because due to Microsoft documentation format no one can learn Microsoft product himself and due to this reason they are unaware on most of the technology and Microsoft loosing their business.

Cheers,
