Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate 32 bit........

I have a paid hotmail account that I have been happily using for 2 years
now. I always check it via outlook (2003 and 2007). In 2007, for about the
past 45 days, I would get intermittent dialog boxes asking me to confirm my
password.

I would, and I would select remember this password and things would
continue - until about 3 days ago. Then the dialog boxes would not go away
in Outlook 2007. It constantly asked me for my password and would not
connect to my hotmail account.

I logged in to my hotmail account via the web to make sure I was using the
right password - all worked as it should in the web interface.

I can still log on via 2003 and the web just fine.

I'm having the same problem as of March 14th although I'm subscribed to
Hotmail Extended Storage and pay a yearly fee!

I have been using Outlook or Outlook Express for years to connect to Hotmail.
I actually still use it at work with excellent results. Sometime in the
past two months I have not been able to connect to Hotmail from my home
computer. I am asked over and over again for my user name and password.
Nothing seems to work. I've deleted recreated my account numerous times. I
would suspect Hotmail, but I have no trouble at al doing this at work. I
also can log directly into Hotmail via the website, but I really hate using
the Hotmail web interface. It's slow and clumsy.

Can somebody please shed some light on this. I am using Windows XP Pro and
Office 2003.

I do not have the HTTP option when I go to: "Tools, E-mail accounts, Add a
new e-mail account, click Next"

What can I do now? I have gone though the update process.

When I log in to Outlook Express 6.0 to retrieve email, I frequently get a
message that says the connection to the server has failed......error number
0X800CCC0E. We have 2 accounts. Sometimes only 1 account fails. Other times
both fail. Sometimes it connects just fine.

This is a new problem in the last week. Has something changed? How do I
correct this?

Just installed Office 2010 Home and Business and everything is fine except Outlook. My primary e-mail address is a hotmail account (Windows Live ID) and I have several accounts with hotmail, google, and yahoo that I want to link. I have no problem adding the gmail account. I know the process for adding accounts of all styles, it just won't connect to hotmail and yahoo (even after downloading the hotmail connection whatever pack). However, the send/receive process can never finish all tasks and I receive constant errors about not being able to authenticate the Windows Live ID, not able to connect, could not synchronize accounts, etc. I do everything it promts and still things just appear to be stuck in the attempted synchronization mode. Yahoo accounts just are not connecting period. When things are stuck in this mode, it causes my computer to slow to a crawl.

I have been having trouble connecting to Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 with Outlook 2000. I have configured the properties of my Outlook Microsoft Exchange Server in the same way on other computers, but with my laptop on the general tab the mail box seems to be recognized and verified by the server. However, when I attempt to connect Outlook times out and returns a message saying that the server is unavailable. My time out is set to 30 seconds. When I attempt to connect from another computer, no problem! This laptop did not have a problem until I tried to connect via the Internet from my home office. Any suggestions?

When I first turn on outlook 2003, Outlook hangs up connecting to hotmail.
It's OK for my Comcast accounts. When I reload to Outlook, it always works.
How can I fix this?

I am unable to connect to hotmail server to download my email and I cannot
figure out why, can anyone PLEASE HELP me?

when i try to connect to hotmail, i keep getting this service is not
available

I have Windows XP Pro, with Office 2003. My antivirus is AVG (if that's
important).
I have a hotmail account. The problem is that almost every time I go to get
my messages, I get the "connection to server could not be established". Then
I have to click "connect to hotmail" and go through all this.

Everything else works fine but this. Can anyone offer me advise?
Thanks,
Mark

Hello forum,

I've recently installed Office 2003 onto our new pc running XP Media Center.
We have two user accounts, one for myself and one for my wife. Before
installing Office, we were both using Outlook Express to connect to our free
Hotmail accounts. We didn't have any problems at all.

Now I'm setting us both up to use Outlook 2003 and I'm having problems.
When I'm logged into my XP user account, I can access my Hotmail account
through Outlook. However, my wife is a different story. When logged into
her XP user account, if she tries to connect to her Hotmail account through
Outlook 03 she is continuously prompted to re-enter her password. It won't
connect at all. In fact, when performing a send/receive, she gets this
message:

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error
(0x800CCC32) : 'Access to the account was denied. Verify that your username
and password are correct. The server responded 'Bad Password'. '

which I realize is a common message if the password is actually wrong,
except that we've gone online and changed her password, so we know the one we
are using is correct. I can't find any reason why this would be happening.

I've tried to create new identities, and each one has the same issue. I
cannot connect to Hotmail through any other identity but my own. In fact, I
can even connect to her Hotmail account through Outlook if I'm using my own
identity!

I've read through the kb suggestions, and through this forum, and none of
the solutions presented have worked.

Hopefully someone can help! Thanks to anyone who has a suggestion.

For WEEKS now, I have been completely unsuccessful at finding ANYONE at
Microsoft that has a clue about Outlook 2007 and paid Hotmail account
connectivity.

It seems that Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate 32 bit has lost the ability to
connect to my paid hotmail account. It keeps asking for the password over
and over.

My XP/2003 Outlook has no issues with my hotmail account and I can access it
on the web with no problems.

I have gone as far as to delete my Outlook 2007 PST file completely and
start with a new one (just in case it was corrupt) with no success.

The lack of support for the new Outlook version is simply incredible. With
this level of support, I don't think Office 2007 is going to be a hit at all.

since update on 4/12/07, outlook 2003 cannot connect to the hotmail server
also reminders cannot be displayed. Anyone having this problem?

I had a workable connection from Outlook 2003 to a long-time Hotmail account
(was paid, is now free) and I lost the connection recently for updates on
emails -- I happened to switch internet service providers at that time also.

I tried first to Change and then to Add the Hotmail account in Outlook, but
the test message wasn't successful. I then downloaded Outlook Connector
which set up a new Inbox but wouldn't give me access to messages. Then I
redid the connection manually and it worked after I retyped the User name
with @Hotmail.com added.

I am using a new Hotmail account to experiment.

Only now, Outlook Connector is giving me an error on displaying new Hotmail
messages because it cannot **update my calendar** and it can't because I'm
**not a subscriber**. The download page for OC clearly states that it works
w/ paid and nonpaid Hotmail accounts, so why is this useless program giving
me an error message? I don't HAVE a calendar in Hotmail in any event.

So, please tell me how to get the connection to Hotmail to work, by whatever
means. I would rather uninstall Outlook Connector and make the connection
manually. I am just exhausted w/ trying to fix this.

Installed W7 on new HD and cannot send or receive emails through Outlook
Connector. Have reloeade Outlook 2007 twice and still the problem persists.
While not using Outlook Connector gmail works fine.

hello,

this is my setup

I have one Active Directory domain containing two AD Sites, configured
through AD Sites and Services, Site one is the local LAN on the
192.168.x.x subnet, Site two is a remote site in a datacentre on the
public-facing 87.127.x.x subnet - the two sites are connecting via VPN
on Sonicwall firewalls

the VPN connection is solid - and commuications from Site one to Site
two is fine, and vice versa

netdiag and dcdiag from both sides report no problems

My Exchange Server is in Site two, along with a DC/GC and appears to
be working fine (still in testing phase), OWA works locally, from LAN
and from Internet.

Next I try to setup a connection from the LAN using Outlook97, no luck
- I get the following error:

"The name could not be resolved. Network Problems are preventing
connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. Contact your ...
etc"

I immediately through this was a RPC randomized reply port through
firewall issue, so I backup up the parts of the registry to change and
followed the instructions here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270836
and http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/47057/47057.html) to
configure Exchange to use static ports for its services.

Then I created rules on boths firewalls at each end of the VPN tunnel
to allow traffic on the relevant ports.

But I stall can't connect.

Just to clarify, when setting up the Exchange Server Service do you
use 'server' or 'server' as the Exchange Server name (I've tried
both, and the IP address too) and is Mailbox, the network logon name,
alias, or full name? (I've tried all three too)

Any help would be much appreciated.

*** Running Exch2k3 SP1 on Win2k3 Server with Symantec Mail Security for
Exchange ***
I consistently get emails directed to hotmail sit in queue in retry status.
I frequently force the connection and a couple of msgs may go thru, but most
remain in queue as the status goes from active right back to retry. I've
downloaded and ran the smtpdiagtool and found that I get intermittent
failures to connect to hotmail servers with an [error code 10060 - failed to
submit mail to mx1 or 2 or 3 or 4.hotmail.com]. Other times it would go
through, but the failures are intermittent for every mx#.hotmail.com server.
Mindful, hotmail is the only domain I'm having problems with.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
