Microsoft Outlook shuts down by itself


Everytime I click to open an email or a contact name, or save a contact,
microsoft outlook just closes on its own!! Can anyone tell me, how to solve
this problem! I reinstalled it.. but no use..

Does anyone know of an instance when an Outlook addin shuts down seemingly by itself? In this case, an Explorer Close gets fired, so our addin shuts down. This occasionally happens with no user intervention. I suppose some other addins could be responsible, but I have seen this happen when there are no other addins present.

Anybody seen this -- where some external thing causes an Explorer Close event?

Hi,

Outlook 2003 (SP3, all updates) goes along happily, then just closes down by
itself. This behaviour seems to have happened since the Microsoft April
security updates, but that might not have anything to do with it.

Any one have any pointers I can explore please?

My Outlook 2000 (running under XP) has started booting, but only for a few
seconds, then it shuts down by itself. I cannot access new or stored
messages, manage the personal folders, etc. I get a popup Microsoft Outlook
message that says:

Error signature
AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.6604 ModName: emailscanner.dll
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 00040df3

I have re-installed Microsoft Office 2000 (including Outlook 2000), but the
problem remains. Outlook still boots and then disappears in seconds.

Do I have a bad sector? Maybe a dll conflict? I have no idea how to fix it.




This is a common issue several of us faces when working in Outlook.

Sometimes by mistake, or the computer freezes, we press the exit key by
mistake, etc, etc.

If we are multi-tasking you may have several (10-20) e-mails opened at once
that you may be working at a time.

If the e-mail shuts down, it creates quite a fiasco given that it is very
difficult to follow up on the e-mails that were open.

Is the a utility that can allow us to pinpoint witch e-mails were open last?




I am running Outlook 2000 on Xp Pro. When I open Outlook, it automatically
shuts down after a period of time (1 to 5 min), if there is no activity. Help!

When I open Microsoft Outlook it just shuts down.  I tried restarting and it still will not remain open.  I am not getting any error messages upon shutdown.  Do I need to reinstall this program?  Please help!  Thank you.




I use Outlook 3003 SP 2 to send and receive email. I have two accounts that
are used, my corporate email, and my personal account that is a msn hotmail
account.

When I am receiving email in my msn account, Outlook shuts down before the
new message fully loads, and restarts. Then when Outlook restarts, the mail
is delivered and I can read the message normally. The error message that
comes up is titled as follows: Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a
problem and needs to close.

How can I avoid having outlook shut down and restart?

I'm using Outlook to receive my Century 21 email as well as my hot mail.
After signing in, Outlook shuts down a message is sent to Microsoft and I'm
required to re-sign in again. This goes on every time the I shut down my
computer (laptop) and turn it back on and open Outlook. If anyone has an
answer for me, I wil be very grateful.

When i try to add attendees to the new meeting request, my outlook shuts
down automatically. There is no problem at all in adding the meeting room as
a resource. This problem persists only when i try to add attendees.
This doesnt happen only while adding particular attendee, but all any name.
I m using Outlook 2003 - Microsoft Exchange Server - SP2.

I have never faced this problem earlier. Just recently since past 1 week.
Tried Reinstalling Office, Clean free/busy. No go.

Can anyone help me?

Outlook shuts down on its own when I try to open or delete an email. After reopening and several self generated shutdowns outlook finally works and lets me open & delete mail.

I get no error message.

I have a weekly list of about 25 persons I send copies of emails to.  In all previous vesions of Outlook I could higlight all the names, click BCC and the email would send.  With Outlook 2010 when I put more than three names in either TO or BCC, Outlook shuts down.  The only way I can select individual namesto send to from my large mailing list is to create individual emails.  An hour-long session with a Microsoft tech never resolved this issue.  There is somehthing wrong with the 2010 Outlook.

Also, Outlook 2010 came with a default setting to save all incoming messages to the server.  After three days of using Outlook I was unable to receive any more emails.  I had 310 saved messages that filled my alloted space on the server.  A Time Warner tech was able to help me find the sub, sub window where I could disable that ridiculous default.

When I click on a hyperlink in a mail message, I get the error message
"The data file 'Personal Folders' was not closed properly. The file is
being checked for problems" and outlook shuts down




Outlook shuts down when I hit Ctrl/Left Click, when I hit certain letters, etc.

Any ideas?

incoming mails repeat, no matter the account, outlook shuts down, then
reestarts, repeats the mails again, and shuts down on and on. Run Office 2007
repair but of no help
